I don't really like the translations of Star Wars books. There are a few Croatian ones that I've read, but I rather take the originals.

Youa re right.
But I read all the books in German, there are just easier to get, cheaper and easier to read.
I read a few x.wings in english...really more funny than in German.
and..with the new books...we don't have DN r legacy so far..so I will read them in english

You have a lot of SW books translated in Germany, right? Let me ask you something. Do you know how much it takes for one of your local publisher to translate the book and put it on the bookstore shelves? A year, two?

they translate nearly all the books.
I dunno how long it takes.
But at the moment let's just say.
The last NJO book will be published in octobre !!!!
DN starts next year..
they are pretty fast with the last jedi books..
but we don't have tatooine ghost.

In Germany it depends, who is translating the books. The "Last of the Jedi"-books (okay, they are children books, but nevertheless) took only between 2 and 6 month until they are translated and published. While all other books took a bit... longer(but it's another publisher)...
Like Rosa said, the NJO isn't finished here, I think we are four years after the english books. I don't think, that will change soon. But you have to say they were quicklier to translate some of the Clone-Wars novels, usually it took them between one year and two years, just Post-Endor isn't their favorite...

Oh, translation programs suck to hell and back. seriously.
give in one single totally easy german sentence, and out comes a whole bunch of crap that makes no sense whatsoever.
the Germans are almost done with NJO. At least I saw "the final prophecy" lying in the bookstore this morning.
i don't read star wars books in german anyway. german's pronounce almost everyone's name wrong, which annoys the hell out of me, to be honest. especially jaina. the people i know pronounce her name ya-ina. it sounds nice and all but it's wrong.
or try explaining to them how to prounounce rhysode. it's horrible.

Yeah... I needed some time to get, how Jaina is spelled right. And Rhysode.. how is Rhysode spelled by the way? Not spoken like it's written in my opinion, but Rai-sod or something like that?

I'd say Rhysode is prounounced "Raisod".
If you have any other problems with names, just ask me. 
And translation programs...goodness. I remember, one of my fanfiction characters, Timothy Brooks, was translated into german as "Pläum Pratense Bäche".
Senseless. Stupid. That's why I'm not overly fond of translation programs.
I don't need them anyway.
So, how about we get back to Ganner now.
