I really question whether Mara (at the time of ROTJ) had the ability to do the force choke. She never displayed this ability in TTT, and toward the tail end of The Last Command (just before they enter Mt. Tantiss) Luke is spending time teaching Mara some of the most basic force talents (such as levitating stones). My impression from TTT is that Mara did not have many force abilities...

If you insist of bringing up TTT, remember when mara force chokes Thrawn (I think it was in Dark Force Rising). I know that she didn't do much good with it but it was because after Palpy died in ROTJ, she lost her ability to use the force. Like I said before she was stronger in ROTJ.

Actually, I don't remember that...I am not saying you're wrong, I just don't remember it. I will have to flip through that book again and see if I can find it.

This thread is silly.
If she COULD have, WHY didn't she?
I mean, it's not for lack of trying. Basically, he gets it all, she winds up waiting tables. How is that better than being the hero of the galaxy? Answer: Luke is better. ANd he's not just a better more honorable warrior, he's a better person. Justice prevailed.

Luke took out Vader who was much more powerful in the Force and had more experiance and practice so Mara wouldn't have had a chance. Unless Luke had some crazy notion about not being able to hit a woman.

Yeah I don't see Mara winning unless Luke had a major Handicap but then again who knows....one post till 1,ooo

I don't think he would need to because if she really could have taken him she would have but she never got the chance. Part of that was her fault she just let the ship sail by her with out pulling the trigger once.

Wow, when the two month olds are calling the one month olds noobs, things are getting out of hand!!
Freak, you need to back that statement up. Having just recently reread the entire TTT, that is not how I remember it. The way I remember it is that Mara attempted to get on the sail barge crew but could not pull it off. Unless you can tell me what book and chapter of TTT states that the Emperor cancels the mission, then I have to throw the BS flag on that play!
By the way Freak, I am not stalking you. I know I have been responding negatively to a lot of your comments, but I am not gunning for you!!

Actually the empire never called it off that's why she tries to kill Luke even after his death. Only after she killed Lukes clone did the empores orders go away.
