This may shock some folks but I actualy picked Hapes. Its just so original, different, and not over done. I love all of it, but if i had to pick one for a new story that would be it just for novelty sake.

This is a very difficult one.  I was making up my mind between the Jedi, Mandalorians, Chiss, Hapes, Second Empire and Rebels.  it be more easier to vote on which Galactic Faction you wouldn't join, lol.
But in the end I voted for the Jedi. I feel that there should be some sort of Jedi subfactions. But the Jedi I have in mind are NJO Jedi and TOTJ/KOTOR era Jedi.

The Empire (both forms) was full of idiots who had to resort to orbital bombardment to get anywhere. And even when they were led by someone competant, who could show restraint, there would be in-fighting and backstabbing, and would fail in the end.
The Mandalorians? Riiiiiight. Sending wave after wave of your own men to clog the enemy's lasers with their wreckage? Well done, Zapp.
The Jedi of old? Uber pacifists who would then go on a rampage if cornered. The Jedi of new? Wusses.
The Sith? All the in-fighting of the Empire, to the Nth degree.
Bounty Hunters? Backstabbing, little honor, idiots.
Smugglers? Unless you were Talon Karrde or Booster Terrick, and gain an air of legitimacy (gotta love government contacts), it's just not worth it.
Hapes? Being male makes that a bad time. That and in-fighting politics.
Chiss? No. Just....no.
So, I quess I'll vote for Rebel Alliance/early New Republic, if only to behold the glory of Janson.
Basically my reasoning. Minus the Janson thing.

I really must go with the Jedi Order, preferably pre Clone Wars era. Primarily due to the beauty and splendor of the Order during the period, as well as the diversity among them.

While I do think I'd get along quite well as part of the New Jedi Order, I had to vote Fel's Empire. Honorably kicking ass since 12 ABY.

Wow, this is a tough one... I had trouble deciding between the Jedi and the Rebel Alliance. In the end, I went with the Rebels. Even though I dislike the NJO NR, I'm still a rebel at heart.

Ooo, is that a choice? If so I switch to that. Small furry tribal people, and they kick Imperial keester. Not to mention they're so cute and teddy bear looking. I wonder if there were ever Ewok Jedi, if so that would be brilliant.

I can't resist being a Jedi - we are talking about lightsabers. Though I'd probably associate very little with the order. So maybe I shouldn't have voted Jedi...
My second choice would be the Chiss, as they seem to be a much more stable society than the Republic, I mean Empire, I mean Republic, or is it the GFAA, only...now it's sort of broken again. And Hapes is just plain strange.
