Heir to the Empire.

The Thrawn trilogy remains my favourite series of Star Wars literature.

It was either Truce at Bakura or Jedi Under Seige (YJK)

I'm one of the few who actually like Truce at Bakura. You at least get to see Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker's ghosts for about half a page.

I think I started on the Young Jedi Knights novel "Lightsabers" when I was 7.

My very first would be the novelization of Empire Strikes Back. The movie came out when I was 10 and I was at the age when I could read pretty well so my dad got me the novel. I read it backwards and forwards. Then I read Star Wars A New Hope (that was when ANH was just a chapter title), and of course, Return of the Jedi. I loved reading the novels of the movies because there was so much more to feed my imagination. In the novel of ROTJ for instance, the Emperor actually mentions Yoda.

Then for many years there were no books.

Until the Coming of Zahn. And I've been reading most of the books since then.

Until I stopped with prejudice at Sacrifice. But, that's a whole other thread.

Neh...One of the YJK books, I don't remember which. I was in my Social Studies class in 7th grade actually, about halfway through the year. And when I was walking to my seat the title of Star Wars caught my eye and my head whipped around faster that the rest of me. I picked it up, read it, fell in love with Jacen, and I've been reading them ever since. I was actually introduced to Star Wars a few years earlier, I've been obsessed ever since.

Return of the Jedi junior noverlization, back in 1997, because of the SE's. cool

Shortly thereafter I discovered Shadows of the Empire, Splinter of the Mind's Eye, and Rogue Squadron.

I started with the YJK books... before I'd actually seen any of the movies. My cousins introduced me to Star Wars, I started reading "Heirs of the Force" at the same time as watching the movies. I'd finished the first two books before we ever got to Return of the Jedi, I think.

A bit odd, chronologically, but I suppose that's fitting where Star Wars is concerned!

The first book which I read was "The Paradise Snare" of the first Han Solo´s trilogy. I must confess which me like lots of the personages of Bria Tharen and Dewlanna. I HATE Garris Shrike.

I was completely ignorant of the EU until an ex-boyfriend stole his sister's copies of the Thrawn Trilogy for me to read. Then the dear boy bought me Truce at Bakura (in hardcover shock )for that Christmas, so whatever year TAB was first published...1994? perhaps.

Of course if the read-along version of ROTJ counts, I've been reading the EU since 1984. I was six then. blush
