Elvis fan???????? You'll never guess where I lived as a young girl! Across the street from Graceland! Yep! There was a major hwy. and a forest between our apartment complex, but Graceland was in the 'hood.'

Really??? Holy Moly! You're a Memphis girl! I grew up near Downtown Memphis in da hood, too! (Near Humes, which is where my mother and uncles went to school with The King. Of course, it wasn't the hood back then when they were in school. It's a complete urban hellhole now.) Now I'm just outside the city limits. How long ago did you leave?

Let's see I was 8 at the time, living in the Oaks Something-or-other apartment complex. That wouldv'e been around 1974, I think. Not sure how long we lived there, Dad was a salesmen so we lived all over the south. Finally landing in Florida.
I do remember they opened the gates (they had notes on a staff decor) on Christmas eve allowing us to drive up to see the lights on the blue painted house. Never got to go inside, though.
One time we heard the sirens blaring and all us kids scrambled over the hill through the woods to see a police motorcycle brigade escort a limo into the mansion. We never saw him, but were sure it was him. The news that night confirmed our suspicions.
It is a small world...I loved Tennessee.

Ah, the blue Christmas lights at Graceland. They still do them every year.
So, that makes four former Memphians (I guess I could consider myself somewhat former since I don't live in the city limits) who are also Cade fans.

I never lived in Memphis but remember some wonderful Cons that were held on Mud Island. I got invited back again and again. I think it was at one of those that I and Chuck Dixon spent part of a Sunday doing dueling Ethel Merman impressions in the signing room -- although that could have been a Motor City Con, now that I think about it. Anyway, loved the Memphis Cons. My late wife Kim used to come to them as well and, after one, we motored down to Shiloh for a tour (both of us being Civil War buffs). Yay Memphis!

Can someone have wardrobe malfunctions if the goodies are already being bared wide open in assless chaps?
I've only been to one con, C-IV. Beyond that, my limited SW exposure was a book signing for Survivor's Quest. Good times to be sure, but I'm a horrible con novice.
