	EUC Sith Dominion of Darkness - We aren't really that bad... Screw that, we're pretty bad. To be a Sith is not just a title. It is an attitude, a philosophy, and a way of life. Only those who have proven their worth through blood, sweat, and tears may bear the name. All but the strong, the wise, and the resourceful will perish. It is not enough to simply claim allegiance to the Sith. One must challenge everything, leaving a path of pain and destruction in one’s wake. Dependence on the Dark Side of the Force is not enough. One must be it’s master. The Dark Side is as a rabid beast, which will consume all who are not prepared to tame it. The Dark Lord ultimately has final say in most cases, but is expected to include not only his advisers in decisions, but to consult the group in general, including the most lowly members of the community. The title of "Dark Lord" is not one of glory and power, but one of responsibility and burden. The Dark Lord is, above all, a public servant, whose main purpose is to enact the will of his subjects. Members of the House of Lords, and the responsibilities and personalized titles of those members, are determined by the Dark Lord. Members of the House of Lords may be removed or replaced at the Dark Lord's will. In the case of a grievance with the Dark Lord, group members are encouraged to voice oppositions respectfully in-thread, unless specifically requested otherwise. In extreme cases, members may contact the House of Lords for assistance. If it is felt that the Dark Lord must be removed, a member of the House of Lords may propose impeachment proceedings. A vote will then be taken to determine whether the Dark Lord should be removed. If the measure passes with at least 51% of the vote, the Dark Lord will be asked to peacefully surrender his position and return to the rank of Sith Arbiter. If the deposed Dark Lord refuses to go quietly, moderators should be contacted to remove him forcefully. Once the position of Dark Lord is left vacant, the group will then go through a twenty-four hour nomination period, during which the House of Lords will nominate at least two-candidates for new Dark Lord. Once the nomination period has ended, the group will then hold a forty-eight hour voting period to determine the new Dark Lord. ~Training Guidelines~ Upon being approved for membership within the Dominion, an individual must go through a two-week trial before they may be taken as an apprentice. During this trial, the individual is expected to post frequently, contribute to discussion, and perpetuate an overall positive atmosphere within the group. Once the two-weeks is up, a Marauder or Arbiter may request to take the individual as an apprentice. The apprenticeship may begin when approved by the Dark Lord. Once the apprenticeship is underway, the apprentice is expected, just as before, to post frequently, and contribute to discussion. They will also be required to complete at least nine tasks. These tasks will usually consist of a written dialog on a particular subject requested specifically by the master. However, this is not the only definition of a task, and masters are encouraged to be creative in the training process. All tasks must be entered, in some form or another, in a training log. A master-student relationship is not restricted to tasks. Masters are expected to be generally helpful to their students, providing them with whatever wisdom and information they can. An apprenticeship must last a minimum of two months. If, in that time, the apprentice has met the required criteria, they may be promoted. However, it is generally advisable that the apprenticeship last a bit longer than the minimum requirement. When a master feels that his or her student is ready for promotion, the master may submit the apprentice to the Dark Lord for promotion. If the Dark Lord feels that the student is ready, a promotion ceremony will take place. If the Dark Lord concludes that the apprentice needs more work, the apprenticeship will continue. Recommended tasks: (Majority of the tasks to be done in essay, discussion or RPG form.) 1. Why do you choose to be a Sith? 2. Sith and Jedi Code – Describe each and compare the differences. 3. Who is your favorite Sith? Give a bio including name, homeworld & era. 4. Name three Sith ruled worlds – Give brief description of each world and the events that happened. 5. Sith Rule of Power Structure – Name them and describe strengths and weaknesses of each. 6. The Darkside Compendium – Who wrote it? Of what does it consist? Give a description. 7. Explain the differences between Dark Jedi and Sith. 8. Name three wars involving the Sith. Give a brief description of each. 9. What do you believe are the goals of the Sith and what would you do to achieve them? ~The Code of the Marauder~ Sith Marauders are the might of the Dominion, and the fist of the Dark Lord. They are charged with the duties of defending the order not only through combat, but with the sharpness of their words. They are to present themselves in a way that dignifies the order in the eyes of others. Respectfulness for others, willingness to defend comrades, and a deep understanding of, and obedience to the code and guidelines of the order are all expected of a model Marauder. A member must remain at Marauder status for a minimum of four months, and is expected to train at least one apprentice before being considered for promotion to Arbiter. When the Dark Lord feels that a Marauder is sufficiently experienced to become an Arbiter, the Marauder will be contacted with a proposal to engage in a final, difficult task. This task may be anything which presents a significant challenge, and will be determined by the Dark Lord based on the abilities and specific personality of the Marauder being tested. Afterward, the Dark Lord will review the Marauder's performance, and if it is determined that it was sufficient, the Marauder will be promoted to the rank of Arbiter. ~The Code of the Arbiter~ Sith Arbiters are the wisdom of the Dominion, and the mediators of disputes within the order. Arbiters are expected to not only understand, but to question and discuss the code and guidelines of the Dominion, to prevent stagnation of the order's philosophy. They are expected to act as objective judges in disputes between other members, and should attempt to keep their fellow Sith in line when civility wears thin. Arbiters are expected to set an example of intelligence, cordiality, progressiveness, maturity, and knowledge. Retired Thread Names: Sith Happens - We put the laughter in manslaughter. 	That was a nice little preview, I haven't gotten a SW comic for a while now but am looking forward to catching up. Especially to see the death of Kryat, Wyyrlok seems to be a much better fit for the position IMHO. PS: The opening post was very nice, I am liking some of the stuff put in there about ranks and the responsibilties that come with it. 	I thought that as well, the Darth Maul look-alike thing was cool for a few issues. Now it is getting rather old, and it would be cool if Sith started to not do that. In a practical sense, being red w/ black stripes would by now be a dead give away as to ones affiliation. There is no way one of them could walk openly through hostile ground without giving away the fact that they are Sith.
