As a NJO critic I'll tell you why it's up to 43 pages:
We talk. A LOT. 
Oh and it's been going longer than this thread.
As far as NJO fans go, there are no shortage.
Frankly Sparky Droid stop worrying about nothing.
Though you do raise a good point, no one here is saying anything beyond they're an NJO fan. You need some discussion of why, reaction to events; the problem with that is the bulk of the discussion has already been done over in the Lit forum.
I don't know what the solution is but consider this post a helpful diagnosis of the problem.

Yikes! I haven't gone to TheForce.Net in months and people actually want to keep this topic going?!! Cool! And I agree with some of your points on how the NJO critics club is higher then this! WELL LETS KEEP TALKING THEN!
And did I mention I got Star by Star for Christmas? Cool eh? Haven't got round to reading it....I probably will after reading the Hobbit and some of Lord of the Rings.
And as for a NJO Defense Navy....let's wait and see!

Just a thought guys, you know with alot of Expanded Universe characters appearing throughout the New Jedi Order, who would you like to see return?
For me, Dash Rendar and Leebo from Shadows from the Empire - those two are cool! (And I have always prefered the Outrider over the Falcon!)
(And before you all start posting saying 'But they're dead!', in the Shadows of the Empire game it's possible to unlock a secret ending on Medium where you see Dash and Leebo surviving the exploision of Xizor's skyhook, while everyone thinks they are dead. And also, if you think that doesn't matter since it's a video game, you see Dash at the end of the Shadows of the Empire: Evolution graphic novel - which is set after Episode VI!)
Though I would hate it if Dash was made just another guy smuggling slaves for the Yuzhaan Vong or a member of the Peace Brigade or worse!

Recovery is and e-book that takes place between BP and Conquest. There's information on it here.
It would be cool if Dash returned... personally, I've been hoping for a human replica droid to come and slaughter a few Vong.
And maybe a turning-point vision of Yoda to Luke-- the "Yoda will always be with you" quote has been pretty much overlooked, eh?

Thanks for the link! Recovering looks interesting.....and as for you mentioning a replica droid slaughtering the Vong, well, Lando more or less made them in Star by Star....oh I can't think of the names right now, but they were pretty cool!
