I will never forget my chagrin and surprise while reading book four, and seeing the sentence, "he kept pronouncing it "Hermy-own." All I could think was, "I pronounce it like that!" Luckily, my mom knew of an actress by the name, and so knew the correct way to say it, so by the time the movie came out I was already used to it.

I have a friend that pronounces Jacen as Jaken, Jaina as Jenna, and Mara as Mairra.
Then there's all the people in Episode one that mispronounce Coruscant.
It's not Coressaunt it's Coruscant (a derivitive of the word Coruscate-to change color). Qui-gonn and Obi-Wan are supposed to live on that planet and they mispronounce the name. Almost makes me want to stop the movie and start smacking heads.
Anyway my oppinion about the pronounciation of names in Sci-Fi and fantasy books is whatever works for you. If it sounds better and easier to say Corressaunt rather than the correct Coruscant...fine, say it that way, even though it's wrong.

-Tenel-Ka- I love the webpage design! It looks awesome. Just a thought to throw out there, though: what about putting one of Jacen's quotes at the top, followed by the welcome message from the club? We could even vote on one that we feel exemplifies Jacen's personality. What does everyone think???

That’s the way GL wants it pronounced, I-poodoo. I think Jake Lloyd tried to say it the way you believe it is supposed to be pronounced, and GL stopped filming and explained to him how it is “really” pronounced. GL has the final say in these matters.
And I don’t think where the word is derived from would have that much of an effect on the way it is pronounced. “Mother” was derived from the Latin word “mater” but we pronounce those words very differently.
That’s an interesting idea, NaboosPrincess. I can’t think of any really good quotes at the moment though…

Yeah I saw that on the DVD too, but I'm with Jake about it. Coruscant's the way I've pronounced it for the longest time, and with all due respect to George, I'm not going to change it or stop believing it's the correct pronounciation, just because he had a whim about how he wants it pronounced.
Again it's the whatever works for you rule I was talking about.
For the quotes we could put in:
"I'm all pirate, I pillage therefore I am." from Rebirth
"How many of you does it take to kill someone you call a coward" from BP.
If we want to put in some about Jacen we could put in Leia's quote from DJ
"Don't worry about Jacen, he may seem fragile, but he's a survivor"
(Correct me I'f I'm wrong with any of these.)

While I had read the first book, I didn't tackle saying Hermione until after I saw the movie.  Then it was a piece of cake.
 Oh! Nice layout!  And you're using my idea (or a variation on it) of including his jokes in some form or another!
