I am prepared to Embrace the Pain.(sorry I couldnt resist)I'm starting to think its imposible to kill Nom Anor, maybe its the will of the Gods that he should live, maybe he is blessed by Yun-Harla,if he is then it would be heresy to try and kill him, wouldnt it?

Ah and it was said that Yun-Harla reserved her best tricks for those most devoted to her - though Nom Anor only pays lip service to the gods, his own ambitions are all that matters to him, therefore i'd say that it wouldn't be so much heresy as taking away a source of amusement
Though I do have to agree, he is a tad on the unbreakable side, I find it very hard to believe knowing all that we do, that he would have just elected to die like that if he didn't have an escape plan.

You'd better hope that you're the same caste, or that's a sentiment on the brink of heresy

Heresy is fun. I mean being a heretic priest/warrior sounds so much cooler than just a regular warrior/priest.

Not so much fun if you aren't around long enough to enjoy it keep your voice down, everyone will want to try it
A heretical priest is a strange thought, as is an intendant - but I imagine that just comes naturally to some of them
Nice work on the art Kecen! Good to see some more Yuuzhan Vong art making it's way here.
And on the small matter of Yuuzhan Vong art...I finished this the other day.

I was reading about the fascism and how the leaders kept trying to keep women out of professions and getting them to breed like crazy. The Yuuzhan Vong are slightly fascist. I'm bummed out, but that's what baby-growing tanks are for XP
Ahaa, Star Wars doesn't particularly mirror real life (ahem, scantily clad female Jedi) so this awful detail might not be true...
Anyone want to suggest historical parallels? Smugglers trying to sell deathsticks in grape-leaf wrap form to Zonama Sekot?
BTW I posted a picture of Tahiri/Riina in my fanart thread.

freaking fantastic about see the yuuzhan vong truly represented in this series. vergere was a nice touch as well. for those that havent read the series... i would insist that you pick up the most recent... i believe it was number 18... but correct me if i'm wrong on this. there are some great yuuzhan vong artwork as well. and i was excited to see the Embrace of Pain represented.

My favorite part was the shaper who looked like a member of KISS
And A'Sharad's codpiece, ahem.
I was a bit dissapointed that everyone was wearing armor, even though the shapers are described in the books as wearing oozliths. They sure were spiky. Hm, where are the eyesacs?

Thanks jhc36
And I did indeed get my hands on a copy of Legacy 18 (after hunting for it high and low). I have to agree with you, hell yeah!!!
I loved the fact that they intergrated the Yuuzhan Vong into the back story as well as the present, all the glimpses of things such as Miid Ro'ik ships, the embrace of pain and even a bonus shaping scene in there for good measure...WOW!
I was a bit surprised to see who I supposed was the shaper, wearing armour and a strange headpiece, compared to the ones they were written to be wearing. But interesting none the less. I also liked the little detailed frames of Vergere and how she tied into the story too.
Off on a slight tangent here...am I the only one who believes that Vergere might have actually intended to let Elan die? Or rather, that was her plan all along - Elan was merely a means of her returning viably to the known galaxy. There was that strange discription during her fight with Han Solo, where Han could not be certain weather Vergere was trying to open the hatch to the escape pod they were in, or if she was remaining outside to keep it shut. This can be contradicted by a couple of points, I was just pondering.

I agree, if Vergere was trying to save her she could have used the force to get the hatch open. Or maybe she was just trying to save her own skin. Unless she was trying to save Elan but didn't want her to find out that she had the force. But I think she was trying to keep the hatch shut, I might be wrong but who cares. Her true intentions are a mystery.

which is why i really like vergere as a character. very mysterious... we may never truly have her backstory or her experience with the yuuzhan vong. that's what i would like to see. a sort of I, Jedi for vergere... but of course be almost entirely set with the yuuzhan vong. perhaps end with the invasion... something along those lines. i think many would like to see something like that.

I would love to see some sort of 'I,Jedi' as jhc36 put it, with Vergere and her life living a lie among the Yuuzhan Vong. I think it would be something both Yuuzhan Vong and general NJO fans alike would really enjoy reading. I'd like to see Stover write it if it did happen, his characterization of both the Yuuzhan Vong and Vergere in perticular are what i'd call spot on. Hell, just a Yuuzhan Vong spin off (much like they did the General Grievous comic book series, or the Boba Fett mini-series) would make me wave my tentacle headdress like I wasn't supposed to, with joy!
