It seems that we don't have big turnouts at our meetings unless it's a GM and then that can be bit of a stretch.
Can anyone think of something we can do to gather more members to these meetings.
- Maybe a change of date or time?
- Would having a meeting every other month sans GM work out better? (absence makes the heart grow fonder?)
- Perhaps making them a pot luck type of event where we bring food or snacks and that takes care of
dinner for those who get off just in time to make them?
- Better announcements, Don't let the "E'ville Jedi Upcoming Events" header be the only reminder for
the next SIG meeting.
I would create (and some of you already do) a dedicated thread to the next upcoming SIG meeting and give
all the details about time, place, etc and what the topic of discussion will be. Just create some enthusiasm.
I hope no one feels singled out, I just think back to when I had the Collectors Club meetings and we would have 6
members in attendance from meeting to meeting and now we have 2-3 at best and I just don't understand why.
Just some thoughts and please discuss.

Hmmmm.
Well, I am to blame too. I mean, if I lived in the tristate, I would attend a lot more then I do. Of course, I haven't lived in the tristate in what, 5 years? But, I still will say this is the best FF around. Man, I lived in Knoxville for two years, and the Knox Wings NEVER met in all that time. Never!! It was all, "anyone wanna meet? No, I can't. Okay, well, we will try again in 8 months...." Same with Dayton, and the same in L'vull. Face it: we rawk.
I do like the SIG every other month idea (just an idea, certainly the SIGS should have their own say). I say that, as we may be a tad over stretched. We could go to every other month-- and that may give the chairs a chance to really plan some cool stuff. Of course, if folks do get to plan cool stuff (like Joe in the Prop Club) y'all ought to show up (which we did for Joe).
Things like; games tourneys-- the TCC, Miniatures, and I would LOVE to show you all how to play Star Wars Full Thrust or the old WEG miniatures game. That could be a Collector Club.
Maybe a fashion show for the costume club; when all y'alls hard work is done. That would be cool. You know, to show us fans who don't costume just what we are missing.
Maybe a "debate" for the book club-- sort of a take off on the election. Basicly, just pick a topic and someone volunter to take the opisate of Kesh and then debate (nicely-- no pookies). Well, wait. That's pretty much every book club huh?
Just thoughts. And, I do wish I could attend more.

"The Glove of Darth Vader was a Mandalorian Crushgaunt fitted around one of Lord Kaan's indestructible Sith Amulets." I thought I was a SW fan until I read that and had no idea what it meant.

well.. i have lost interest in it because it is a lot of talk.. i love going to events and getting in costume and making a difference to someone.. if there were more events with the public available in the area.. i would be more active in the club.and i am sure others would be wanting to join as well. it is not that the club is bad or anything i just like to create and make a difference.

Having a slave Leia attend each and every meeting for as long as the universe expands.
