That means a lot to me, Deb. So much so, that I can't really express how I feel in words. I know I told you this before, but it'll never hurt to say it again: it is a real honor to hear those words coming from you. I truly appreciate it and as always, thanks for dropping by!

This next one was done pretty much for fun, but I also plan to use it as an avatar on another site. This is a portrait of Han how he would appear around the Thrawn trilogy of novels. An RPG I'm involved in takes place around that time and I wanted a visual for some of the characters. This is done in graphite with a bit of Photoshop tweaking to get the pale, washed out color of the background.

OMG!! That's all I could say to myself when this popped up...and words are still in short supply! lol! That's frickin' awesome, Han!! What an amazing portrait: so much character in that face, and with that sort of "long-suffering" expression on his face (how Ford approaches photo shoots, I think! )...
The hair is stunning in the details--a lot of different directions going on, with beautiful shading all over it for that typical "Solo Scruffy-Look!" Absolutley gorgeous shading all over, actually--the facial planes and creases and forms are just...perfect... And that's really all from the "second look:" the first one gets snagged and held by his riveting gaze...perfect eyes, Han--just perfect.
Man...I LOVE this! And it's a great image of Han as he would have appeared then, too--a little older, a lot wiser and somewhat more "mellow" (...marriage...children...they'll do that to a guy--even a former pirate! )! Beautiful, beautiful work!!

Wow, awesome shading, it really brings the drawing to life! And those eyes, really draw you in and hold your gaze, I love it when you find a portrait that does that!

LOL!  Yea, I tend to agree! Most of his photos look like that except for a few where his smile looks forced. Then again, I guess I can't blame him with the publicity. I'd also like to thank you for the critique, Deb! I was quite surprised to see that someone actually commented about that hair. As always, I'm my own worst critic and I wasn't too happy with the way it turned out. I guess I need to stop being so hard on myself. But to hear from you that this is "frickin' awesome" really means a lot. Thanks so much!

Agh! Another comment about the hair! Seriously guys, thank you! I thought that was the weak point and it was a real surprise to hear the complete opposite. The thing is, I'm not the most patient person out there and I kinda did rush through the hair. That's why I'm so surprised that you like it.
