Wow, it looks awesome! Absolutely stunning! Sorry, can't give you any advise for this one - it's just too perfect!   
Great composition, btw. Really like Tattoine's two suns (or at least I hope that they are suns and from Tatooine  ) at the bottom.
And I think Jabbaman was refering to your earlier drawing of Leia, one page ago. But I highly disagree with him. Leia doesn't look like Jabba, she's way too beautiful in the drawing!

How did I miss this before? Kirk, Luke and Deckard on one poster?! Awesome! Nice composition, too-- not too much crowding, the eye is led around but not overstimulated.

I just had to comment again, since I read soits "geeky criticism!" You'd think, the manic Star Trek fan I am (all versions, btw! lol!  ), I would have noticed that, too--but alas! I did not! Thank goodness we have the true fan-atics (thanks, soits!  ) to keep us all honest in our own "geeky-fanliness!" Can't wait to see more of this as it progresses!

Thank you, ShrunkenJedi! When my prof mentioned a cult film poster, I immediately thought of Blader Runner and Star Trek. You can't have a cult film fest without those two.

Okay, I finally got around to finishing this thing tonight(at 3:30am  ) and I'm quite happy with the results. The whole thing is done in oil with a black/white/ochre color palette. I apologize for the low quality - I once again had to resort to my digital camera:

Deckard is easily the best part of the poster - fantastic rendering. How are you finding oils to work with (other than kind of smelly)?

Really nice final! I really like how you brought it all together with coloration so that nothing has too much "Pop" in the image, although Kirk does stand out alittle due to yellow but that's just unavoidable in an acurrate poster.
Only thing that I could say is different is the lightsaber but I don't care it looks great!

Oh, wow...and in oils, no less!! I bow down to your skills with paint! This turned out great: the sort of monochrome palette really pulls each element into the whole, yet the way you've handled the tonal qualities, each character still stands alone--and having the overhead light from the flying saucer is inspired! Too cool!
I love it--just love it--and would so love to see it BIG, hung up outside some fancy theater!

Lovely piece, Really lovely!!! Paints hate me when it comes to painting peoples faces, but you did an awesome job! Han Especially is extremely excellent and wonderful, and the whole thing just totally rocks!!!

Thank you, BIEREN! After seeing your oil paintings, it's a real honor to hear that from you!
soits, oils are so much easier to move around and control than something like acrylics or watercolor. They take a while to dry so it really gives you a lot of freedom. If you find something you don't like later on, chances are you can still go back, put some turps on the area and wipe it down and fix it. After working with oils, I will never go back to acrylics. I think I finally found a media that likes me. :P Thank you so much for dropping by!
Thank you, Mitth! Yes, the lightsaber does look a little wonky, but that was something I've been struggling with. It was hard to get it look illuminated. If I had a choice, I would've gone into PS and added the glow in there.

Aww, thank you, DarthFar! It really means a lot coming from a wonderful artist such as yourself. When the prof mentioned cult classics the first thing that popped into my head for the sci-fi genre was Blade Runner and I knew right there I had to include it in the poster. Thank again for dropping by!
This one has been in the works for quite a while and after talking to FalconFan, she convinced me to post up the WIP image. This was actually done as a request to go into a banner for a website, but when the site fell under for personel reasons, I never got around to finishing it. It's a Han and Leia piece inspired by Gone with the Wind. It's only a pencil drawing at the moment, but the final will be done in water color and colored pencil. I apologize for the poor scan, but it was too large to fit on my scanning bed and I had to resort to the digital camera. So, without any further introduction, I present Han and Leia:

OMG... This looks GORgeous!! And I have to say (and agree) that the "Gone With The Wind" theme for these two certainly fits! I LOVE their likenesses (even with a fuzzy picture, I can tell they're good!)--and the hands.... **swoons with jealousy** They look perfect--just perfect! It's a bit hard to make it all out, but the drapery looks amazing, too...I cannot WAIT to see more of this, and I'm so glad I convinced you to share it!! Awesome-awesome!!
