Hey someone saw Vader in the smoke, I didn't even mean to do that, it just ended up that way  . Anyways I'm back with a new piece, I've been stopping by now and then to see what's happening here and there in the forums. Lots of great stuff being posted. Star Wars is Timeless so lets keep it going strong.
Anyways I haven't done anything Star Warsy in a while so I quickly did up a Yoda piece the other day.

Cool Yoda Ty!! And somehow, I managed to miss your series of illustrations for the films--I love them all, but most especially that one of Han & Leia (I think I mentioned that once before, when you posted the piece separately...). The composition, coloring and the entire mood of it are just wonderful! ALL of them are fantastic, and the styling is superb! I have to agree with one of the comments on your DA account, that your original takes on each scene make them very fresh and new, and provides a lot of energy to each one--fabuloso!! The newest Yoda is so great: very spare, but so very recognizable! Very much like a trading card (and I could soooo see you doing something like that!  )--and again, great coloring. It's great to see you doing some SW art now and then (in between painting the bedroom, that is...)! Thanks for putting this up!

Hi, Ty. Like FalconFan, I had missed your last batch of illustrations - all of them very cool. I especially like There will Be Another Time , your inking style always being one of my favourites on the board.
Your Yoda pic is cool, too. Was it designed with reduction in mind (looks perfect for an icon)?

FalconFan- Thanks as always for stopping by and checking out my thread. Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated whether they be good or bad. You are a big part of this forum, the way you encourage all of the artists here to create is tremendous and you are a darn great portrait artist yourself. I'm glad you like the "scene series" As stated it was a commision for a guy at work. I don't normally do commisions, but it's different when the guy is bugging me in person everyday.
Also, I would love to work on a sketch card project. know of any in the works?? I complain about not having time for anything but I would make time for that. I just don't know how to apply. Otis Frampton told me to go to comic-cons and network. Many Fan artists here were able to snag these gigs, Otis being one, Grant Gould being another, ArtyEwok as well. I've been really encouraged lately by many professional comic book artists faving my pieces at DA (deviantart.com), to go and go out and pursue this. Thanks again.
soitscometothis thanks for stopping by as well. I never thought of making it into an icon but I suppose it would convert easily and if you wished to do so I would be honored.

Oh, yes-yes-yes!!! I so think you should, too! I can't imagine that someone doing card series (Topps or whoever) wouldn't also fall in love with your wonderful and distinctive style and get you going on a series of cards! What a wonderful idea--do it-do it-do it, Ty!! Then we here can all say "We knew him when..."  And in the meantime, we'll just drool on your outstanding work here in the forum!

I figured out how unlock my old thread here so I'm moving some stuff from my newer thread over, This way everything is in one place. Hopefully I'll be updating this more often so it won't get locked. It might not always be Star Wars that I post however, I hope no one minds?

Those Lost character pieces are great - Sawyer especially.
Assaj Ventress remains my favourite of your Star Wars illustrations, but Boba Fett is close second. Then again, I rather like the Sandtrooper studying the hologram of Vader...
I doubt anybody minds you posting non-Star Wars art here, I don't think it's been much of a probem for anybody in the past.

Welcome back, Ty! Long time no see! 
As always, your artwork is awesome! Lots of great stuff in this latest update! I especially think the Lost pieces are interesting - they're different and they capture your style perfectly! Keep up the awesome work!
As for unlocking your own thread, how did you go about doing that? I didn't think you could unlock a thread once it fell victim to the auto-lock feature unless you were a mod. Unless it has something to do with the "edit" feature this forum has. At any rate, that's certainly interesting.

I'm so glad I got a few minutes this morning to take a browse back through--your stuff is SO great, and I wanted to leave another note saying so! Your style is just so clean and distinctive--you manage to keep with it, and still achieve thoroughly recognizable likenesses with all your pieces--a feat not many comic artists can achieve. The coloring just seems to get better and better, too. Terrific work, my friend (and have you had any "bites," in the professional comic arena...?)!

I noticed I just received VIP status here, I don't know what that means, I think it has something to do with the number of times I've posted in the forums. But according to the forum FAQ's at 250 posts I'm supposed to receive 2 shiny stars beside my name but instead I got red text. I feel gypped I want my shiny stars!!
