Work, family, freelance stuff on the side. Basically the same as it always is.
In between gigs right now, so just doodling and building my portfolio more, mainly SW stuff for some Lucasart love.

Hi everyone!! I'm finally back into a bit more time of my own now, and wanted to drop in a say a big "HOWDY!!" to everyone here in Fan Art!! **waving**
Firstly--WOW!! And CONGRATS and kudos to you, HS29, on finishing school!!!  I know how hard you've been working these last years--all the hours and sleepless nights and diligent studies--to get there; it's all paid off, and now the art world can finally find out what a fabulous talent you are! [face_nod] I'm so happy for you, and of course wish you the grandest luck in landing a dream-job out there in the field! **sigh** First, wicktone...now soon, we'll lose you to the professional ranks... **starts to sniffle** But then, that's all good too! We'll all be able to say "We knew you when!" Congrats, Steph!
I hope I'm going to be able to at least drop in on a fairly regular basis again and visit everyone's threads, if not post up as many pieces as I used to. I've really missed this place, and all of you here! **more waving**

Finally down to my last semester and I'm currently in the process of putting together my senior thesis. I had a meeting with my instructor today and he gave me the go ahead to put together four science fiction novel covers that will be on display in the gallery during the senior show this May. I'm really excited!

I'm new. Yes. I've been drawing Star Wars stuff for a while now, though, so I'm considering starting my own thread... what are the rules there? Can anyone do that or d'you have to meet requirements, etc?
Moreover - is anyone actually interested in seeing yet more Star Wars drawings? I won't be offended if you say "no"! =D

 Nice! Hope you have fun with it (I know you will!). I'm basically in the same situation in college, except my senior thesis (we call it a 'Division III project' and it's a very large part of our last year-- don't ask) is an appx. novella-length essay (with different chapters) discussing different aspects of science fiction and fantasy, plus some of my own fiction and some other stuff as an appendix at the back for examples and reference. Which... explains why I'm not posting a lot of art at the moment.
Yes, I'm pretty much majoring in science fiction-- I made a point of taking writing/lit and a good number of science courses, and so on. Point and laugh now at the (almost) degree-certified nerdette.

There are no rules, really. We just ask that once you start a thread, to keep all of your artwork in that same thread and not to go around and start new ones for each new piece. Other than that, go for it and have fun!

Thank you Oh, yes! It's great to do this. Unfortunately, I'm also the world's worst procrastinator, so it's kinda stressful being so dependent on such a huge project that is sooo easy to get behind on. That and I don't get to do as much 'research' as I want at this point because I have to hunker down and do the actual writing

Hello everybody!
Thought I oughta show my face since I probably will be posting some artwork here soon.
I've got my mind set on drawing a big, epic, OT-style poster for Invincible. Hopefully it will be finished by the time the book hits the shelves, but seeing as I've never really colored digitally before, I'm not really sure I'll be able to make it on time.

Welcome aboard DocRevan! That sounds really great, and I look forward to it. Wish I could offer some tips but I tend to stay with graphite.
By the way as a general question to those here~, any tips for drawing steam, fog, smoke, and/or mists? If you want you can look at my thread to see how badly I need the help, which is pretty badly

And on another note, I'm finally done with school and I officially graduated on Saturday! I now have my BFA in Communication Arts-Illustration. Now I need to work my butt off to actually get things started!
