OK even though this is a repost of sorts...I still wanted to display the final cover of the Trilogy.



This was the original cover and my first attempt at putting it together.




Here is the same Episode I cover but slightly altered afterwards. Yoda is very green in this one I know...I've tried dimming down his color but it didn't work well for me. So...consider this my final. Ah well.



This was much easier after the first Episode fic cover. This one flows better and Yoda looks far better in this one.



And now my final cover is revealed. Again I'm kinda proud how it turned out and that the energy in it looks good.


So far I'm still in the mists of writing Episode II in Before The Saga section. Episode III won't be out until I'm done the second one. (Naturally) But it does offer a slight glimpse of where the story is going.

I have to say, seeing Yoda with hair is freaking me out a little. He looks like John Travolta in one of the pics. grin

These are some very good photomanipulations, though. There doesn't seem to be any seams and the pictures aren't jaggy or blurry. You've also done some very good colour-editing. Look very natural.

Anyway- Great Job, Especially the third and forth, I like all the different color contrast in the third, and yoda looks cool with hair!

Your covers look very good, DarthGaul--nice compositions, not too busy, text well-placed. You're going to laugh (I hope!) when I say of your two versions of Ep.I, I like the first one best: I think the visage of the Sith, sort of spanning the far right is a more powerful statement of evil...he's sort of towering over everyone else. Of all of them, I think I like Ep.II best: there's a lot going on, but all of it seems to suggest a part of the story, and makes me want to read it to find out about the images. Yoda seems very dynamic there, too, with that strong reach going (and for some reason, I really like those sort of "phantoms" in the middle--very intriguing!). They're all quite good, though--do you do this sort of cover work for others, too, or just for your own stories?

Thanks guys!

Yeah I just tend to do my own covers...for now. I was really trying to see if I could use my graphic skills (which have been dormant of late) to compose a book cover for my titles. I got inspired after writing my fics and just thought I could give an image of what the story was about and who was in it to all the readers.

I like the Episode I original version better too. It kinda reminds me of the typical start of any trilogy...not overly done...but yet still powerful enough to make people take notice.

Yoda as a child was hard to manipulate. I suppose I could have drawn him...but I'm not photo-realistic enough in my art to attempt such a feat. Just a lot of tweaking and use of photoshop...and there he is.

I don't know what everyone else's problem is... I like Yoda with hair. tongue You've done a really good job with it, too. He looks a bit strange with no wrinkles, but that's just because I'm used to seing him as, well, old and wrinkly. You can definitely tell that he's supposed to be much younger, which I assume is what you were going for.

The only problem I have with the images is that you used the same photo of the dark-skinned woman in all three. I'm not sure who that is, but it would be great if you could find another picture of her... just for some variety. You did a good job covering up the fact that they're all the same photo, but there's only so much one can do with mirroring and the blue holo effect.

Great work! I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Yeah I know...the woman was sort of the only pic I could find at the time. There really wasn't another one I could get with her from a different angle or full body pose. I might just have to rely on either getting more pics of people or just not have them shown in every single cover. Don't worry, I noticed that too. But it works for what it is.

Actually I wasn't going to even have her pic shown in the third episode. Or at the very least just have some of her face showing in the background. But nothing I did made me happy with it...so I just pretty much left it as it was and felt it only fitting to have her in all three covers. Ah well...live and learn.

Hey all...well, eventhough I'm not through with my other trilogy yet (The Jedi Wars), I'm currently getting ready to launch my next fan fic entitled "The Dark Times". It takes place right after Revenge of the Sith as Vader begins his hunt for the Jedi. I've made up a Mock cover for my story...have a looky.
