This is where I bring the Star Wars universe to the 3rd dimension with 3D renders! I specialize in women of the human and Twi'lek variety. I hope you enjoy your look around! For easy updating and viewing, new updates will still appear at the bottom of this post, after the horizontal rule. If you encounter any broken links or have trouble viewing any of the images (i.e. Renderosity trying to ask you for a password), please don't hesitate to let me know via PM! I'll fix the problem ASAP. And now, without further ado, the images: First up is a collage of Daru that I made this to celebrate the release of Episode 3! Full Image Next up is Rena: Full Image I know the green lipstick is a bit...strange but Poser crashed on me, and I didn't want to redo the whole image tonight. I have a few images of Oola as well, but I don't know if I can post them. You'd think it would be ok since this is a Star Wars website, and even though her outfit is semi-transparent, it's accurate to the movies this website relates to. Anyways, hope you all enjoy! If people like, I can post more. Addition: Since people didn't yell and scream at me to go away, I thought I'd post a couple more of my images of Daru. She's based on my character from Star Wars Galaxies back when I used to play. Daru's face pretty much captures the essence of ideal beauty in my mind: Full Image Original Resolution Full Image Now I'd like to note that these are earlier renders of Daru, and as such, her top does not fit quite as well as the more recent ones. This gives her the appearance of being larger up top. Soo sorry!): Here's an image of Daru ready for action! I finally managed to get some feedback from the boards into this image. I tried to get a little more definition into the skin and pick better textures for the clothes. I await your feedback! (Update 7: I felt Daru's pants were cut a bit high, so I lowered them a little bit and re-rendered the whole thing for various other reasons). Full Image Update 8: A new color is here! Cue the trumpets Royal Purple -- Ciel arrives! I hope you guys like. I gave her some of the nifty skin effects that many of my Daru renders have. Renderosity Image Update 9: This image is my gift of thanks to all those who have taken the time to look at my images and give feedback. Full Image Update 10: Looking back at my original Daru renders, I've really noticed the difference in render quality between my current renders and those that I did back then. So I decided I wanted to bring at least one of my old Daru renders up to the quality that was used for Ciel and other current renders. So here we have "Another Take on Daru Redux: Kicking it up a notch!" to bring the render up to snuff: Full Image Update 11: Along the same lines as my last post, this is simply a recreation of one of my early Daru renders. I thought it was worth posting. Full Image Update 12: I know this is not a Star Wars image, but I worked hard on it and have a feeling some of you around here might enjoy it. Besides, I just have to spread the holiday spirit! Even though it says "Merry Christmas", consider it my holiday well wishings to you, no matter what holidays you celebrate. This image features the human version of Daru. Those of you who have poked around in my Renderosity gallery have probably seen her. Even though she's not blue, I think she's just as lovely. Update 13: These are commissioned piece based on this image of the LordNeo's Jedi character, Branna Ne'dolo. I was quite happy to take up this request as it finally gave me an excuse to pick up some excellent lightsabers. Even though I say "commissioned", my services are free. No postwork! Full Image Full Image Update 14: Twi'lek Paradise! I couldn't think of a better name for this series! It certainly looks like paradise to me! There will be several images in this series, and this is the first. Well zero-th. Twi'lek Paradise #0 - The Pool Here is the first image in the series. Daru! Yes, my blue beauty gets the top slot! Twi'lek Paradise #1 - Daru Relaxing The second entry in the Twi'lek Paradise series features none other than Oola! Well, my version of Oola anyway. Twi'lek Paradise #2 - Oola's Perch Twi'lek Paradise Image number three brings us to Rena, our resident red Twi'lek. She looks like she's ready for Christmas, and she didn't even have to prepare! Twi'lek Paradise #3 - Rena Poised And last but not least, the regal Ciel, reclinging on the steps: Twi'lek Paradise #4 - Ciel Reclining Update 15: Holiday Vixen Daru arrives! I thought the Twi'lek version of Daru needed the holiday treatment: Enjoy! Holiday Vixen Daru Original Resolution Image Update 16: Alright, here it is, finally. My take on Mara Jade. I told AG88 I'd start working on it some time ago, and I really got serious with it this past weekend. After some issues w/ shadows casting onto the lightsaber, I finally came up with something I was at least moderately satisfied with. Without further ado, Giolon's Mara Jade! Mara Jade - Black & White Background (I couldn't decide so I did both). Well, I need to build up my male content library, which I plan on doing soon after Xmas. I absolutely hate James and the faces that come out of Poser 6's face room, so I'll be grabbing Michael or David and going from there. I fear trying to recreate Luke/Mark Hamill's face since it's so distinctive and recognizeable. Mara Jade was a bit easier since she's an EU character and doesn't have a consistent appearance anyway, leaving me free for more artistic license. Update 17: I have incorporated much of the feedback into my Mara Jade. She got a pricey eye upgrade, some pricey gloves, a bit more tone to her arms, and a slightly slimmer waist and hips. Check them out! Original Resolution Image Here's a new portrait based on the above image. I call it "Mara Jade - Feisty." If you've got the bandwidth, I highly recommend the "Ridiculously Hi Res Image". Full Image Ridiculously Hi Res Image Finally, if you scroll back up to the last set of Mara images, the portrait has been redone to incorporate much of this feedback. You can see it as the "improved" link. A new version of the "black and white" image is coming, but it wasn't ready yet. Anyhow, Enjoy! Please let me know what you think! Update 18: Today's update consists of a young female Jedi named Ellie, a character created by princess_melissa. I approached her on this one, and asked if she'd like to have her character put into 3D. After a little reassurance that I wouldn't turn her beloved character into a Twi'lekkian Ryll den-whore, she said go for it, so here's what came of it: Original Image Full Image Original Resolution Image Full Image Original Resolution Image Thankfully, she was quite happy with the results. Update 19: I've got a new Daru image available, but this time via PM only. It's an arsty-like shadowy nude, no naughty bits revealed, but still deemed too revealing for the boards. The important part here is this is perhaps my 2nd most complex Photoshopping job, attempting to blend the headtails with the head of the original Victoria model. It was a fun excercise, and I'm starting to build a bit of confidence in my photoshopping abilities, at least as far as fixing "blemishes". For the curious, the most complex photoshopping job is the bottom of the skirt on my Holiday Daru image. Update 20: I made the original Women of Color image about a week before the design for Ciel popped into my head. It had been bothering me ever since that she never arrived in time to make it into my image, especially since I have a 20" poster of it on my wall. I like the new one even more! The quality on these is a little lower because I did them up real quick after the original images were rejected because the bikini was too small. The originals are available upon request. Full Image Full Image Update 21: Hi everyone! Long time no see! I've been busy with lots of stuff IRL, so I haven't had much time to make any fancy pictures. Well, V-Day is finally here so I felt I had to do something. Here's Daru, showing off her new dress for a Valentine's Day date! Full Image Also, yes I've noticed that my image host, ImageKnockout, appears to have been, well, knocked out. I'll fix up the broken links over the next couple days. Update 22: My newest headtailed beauty: Lana, the vibrosword dancer! Full Image This time, Lana actually originates as a human character. It's not SW, but I thought some of you might enjoy it anyway: Full Image Widescreen version (Original Resolution) I don't know how many more updates I'll do here as interest seems to have completely died off. It's not too late to prove me wrong, but only AG88 stops by to see new stuff (Thanks AG88!). Most of the other people who used to stop by and leave great feedback I haven't seen around here in ages. C'est la vie. Update 23: I told ya it would be a while before I had a chance to post stuf here again! Real life has been busy as of late. I finally got some time over the past few days to try out dynamic clothing, and as you can see it's AMAZING. It's a piece of clothing that Poser runs a simulation over to make it behave like real cloth. This is the kind of stuff they use in the PT movies only theirs is 1000x better, heh. It's got its own strengths and weaknesses compared to conforming clothing (what I use normally), but I just love the stretchy effect! Update 24: TWO new images today! =D First up is something I started on for the "Lucky to get out alive" theme for this months render challenge, but I decided it didn't really fit b/c they wanted a canon char or something, so I ran with it in my own direction. So here you see Lana, Daru, and Rena ready for action! Now, I haven't decided that Rena is a Jedi necessarily (but she might have to be to fight in those high-heels!), but I wanted to get a lightsaber in there so I gave her one. Daru had already been established with the vibroaxe and Lana with the vibroswords, so I didn't want to change their accessories. Without further ado, here it is: Full Image Next up we have the "Ultimate" edition of "Women of Color." I couldn't possibly leave my centerpiece work as it was without Lana's presence. So I took the time this weekend to update it and bring Lana into the picture. Five figures and their accompanying clothing are just about at the limits of 32-bit Poser computing. I was only able to squeeze out 2000x1922 from my computer on this one (as opposed to 4000x3844 for "Women of Color Plus"). Anyhow, here we go: Full Image Original Resolution Also, I have fixed the Mara Jade bikini pics so you can now enjoy them again. Update 25: Ok, this is a non-SW image today. I spent far too long working on this not to post it. Besides, I think you guys will enjoy it. So without further ado, here is The Dragon Huntress: Full Image Original Resolution Update 26: Hello everybody! It's been a while since I was last here, and even longer since I had a Star Wars image to post! I spent the past couple days inspired by the nice weather we'd been having (after literally 38 days straight of rain). Sunshine, warm weather -- these are the inspirations for my next images: blatant cheesecake. Yeah, sometimes you just feel like cheesecake. You've got three flavors to choose from today: Strawberry: Full Image Blueberry: Full Image Apple: Full Image These three were posed in Poser and rendered in a new program I got called Vue. Vue is designed for rendering outdoor scenes, like Bryce. Anyhow, enjoy the nifty water, sunlight, and of course, the cheesecake. Update 27: In case you haven't noticed, I'm one of those "completionist" types of people. If I have one part of a collection, I must have it all. This carries over across many things: action figures, movies & their sequels, video games, you name it. And of course, it factors into my artwork. So without further ado, I bring you the cheesecake images of my last, but not least, two girls. I did try to incorporate feedback on my "wet look" here. Grape: Full Image Orange: Full Image I now have enough flavors to make a bowl of alien fruit loops! Ya know...that'd be a great title for an image of all of them together... Update 28: Another non-SW render today, I have the third in what has become my series of bringing my 5 ladies over into the fantasy world. I worked a lot on this one, and it has some interesting techniques I thought I'd share. First the image, Daru as The Sorceress: Full Image You may notice that the image is now hosted in my own gallery. If you would like to download the high resolution version of the image, simply register at my gallery. It's quick and painless and will allow you access to all future works as well. I promise there won't be any spam sent your way. So dipping into AG88's realm of "behind-the-scenes", here's a little about the process: As you've seen in my "Enjoy the Vue" series, Vue can make great outdoor scenes, but it is very tough to get skin to light properly and appear realistic. Poser, on the other hand, does great skin but it chokes on high polygon counts and large numbers of textures. Well, I figured out a way that appears to get best of both worlds. First I set up Daru and the steps in Poser and rendered them over black like this: Then, I load up Vue, take that render and apply it as a texture to a rectangle polygon with the black areas around the edges set to be transparent. I then set up the camera angle and lighting in Vue to match that of the original render and orient the textured rectangle so that it directly faces the camera. I can now put just about anything in the scene I want. In this case, it's the foliage. The nice thing is that you can get the effect of the figure actually being in the grass (see her foot stepping into it?) However, because the figure is not actually there, it's merely a textured rectangle, 3d objects are prone to poking through it, so I had to render one version with grass and one version without so that I could get rid of any places where grass pokes through her foot or through solid stone. So, is this sort of "behind the scenes" something you'd like to see more of when applicable or does it just ruin the magic for you? I look forward to hearing everyone's feedback on both the image and the the BTS look. Update 29: I wanted to give Ciel some face time this weekend, so I came up with a similar image to the Daru Shadowplay one. This one is oddly enough called "Ciel Shadowplay". As before, it'd be too revealing to post on the boards (no naughty bits, lots of strategic shadowing), but those who know where to find the full Daru image can find the new Ciel one in the same place. If you don't know, PM me, and I'll be happy to share. Here is the preview highlighting the detail in her face: Full Portrait Update 30: Another non-SW image today. I hope you guys do like to see them. I've got the fantasy version of Oola's human alter-ego. That leaves only Ciel left w/o a fantasy image. I'm thinking of making her an archer. What do you think? Anyways, here's Oola as "The Beserker": Full Image Noticeables here: I did some manual painting of shadows for the scenery b/c Poser couldn't handle shadowing everything at the same time. I used a reference of the shadowed ruins w/o Oola in the picture and then came back to photoshop them in. And now apologies to those who's art threads I've missed over the past few weeks! I'll be trying to catch up over the weekend. Take care and thanks for having a look at my stuff! Update 31: Hi hi! Busy busy busy busy. It seems like I haven't been doing many Star Wars images lately, but I actually have made a new Star Wars image, it's just that I'm pretty sure it's going to be non-postable. However, you can find it the same place you find everything else. For an idea it's titled "Lana's New (very small) Clothes", he he. Now the two new images I CAN post here. I normally don't pick up characters to use, I like to create my own, but when I saw this face I knew I had to pick it up. I then made some slight modifications into it to make her even better, threw together and outfit and gave her some great hair and great scenery. I think you all will like her. She's got more clothing than my average Twi'lek girl too. So I bring to you today, my first Rocket Girl (the name of my series of sci-fi non-SW images): Max Full Image I then decided to make a semi-pin up style for her with a nice face close up so the detail can be seen: Full Image Max was set up in both of these images in Poser and imported to a better rendering program called Carrara. As you can see, it does specularity very well, handles outdoor scenes like Vue, but still does skin just as well as Poser! Update 32: Full Image edit: thumbnail removed as per request. Happy 4th of July! Update 33: I SWEAR I still do Star Wars images, really I do! Lol, it's just the last one I did wasn't TFN boards appropriate. I should have some new (postable) Twi'lek images soon, and they'll even have more clothes than usual! In the meantime I've got a new Max image, titled "Max's Favorite Place". Full Image There's another Max image on my website that I didn't feel like reworking to make board appropriate, so I leave you with just the title and the thumbnail: "No Ordinary Rocket Girl - Define Sexy, Max" Finally, I also completed Rocket Girl #2, Callia. Full Image Full Image Please enjoy! Update 34: OMG a Star Wars image! This time it's the Twin Suns assassins from KOTOR2. This is my entry in the current wallpaper contest so go vote for me! =D Full Image Update 35: This past week I made it into the Top 50 Artists at Renderosity (#31 for any wondering). Since it was such a nice and unexpected surprised, I dropped all the other renders I was working on to make a thank you image for everyone who takes the time to enjoy my work. I thought it'd be a nice thank you to all of you over here too: Full Image Super Hi-Res available at my website. Thank you all who take the time to stop by, look, and most of all leave feedback! If you look closely, you can find a small version of this pose in an older image. However, I never saved it so I had to recreate from scratch. Thankfully it's based on one of the poses in my library. Still, I love Daru in this pose. Doesn't she look sweet (and sexy)? PSST. Two days left to vote in the wallpaper contest! Update 36: So, this isn't one of the images I had dropped (Nidrail's Veren character was one of them, go to her thread and see it!), but this image just came to me one night last week, and I HAD to do it. I actually had a different pose in my mind, but this one worked out fine. It's a military recruiting poster: Full Image I hope it at least makes you chuckle. Would YOU join the Rebellion? The original bikini-less version is available in that not-so-top-secret place. Update 36: It's been too hot lately, so I made something to inspire cool feelings. This one features Oola and is titled "Cooling Off": Full Image This marks the end (hopefully) of a two week creative slump I've been in. Whenever I make an image that I myself think is particularly good (in this case the Rebellion poster), I always find it hard to come up with something to follow up afterwards. I'm pretty happy with this one though. It's even got some manual Photoshopping of highlights and shadows to enhance the look of the image (I hope!). Anyhow, enjoy! Update 37: After my recent creative drought, this is an image with inspiration! I saw this lovely photo of Ms. Alba and was driven to make a version of my own. As some of you might recognize, this is a perfect candidate for a "Max" image. At least, I thought so. Here are the results: Full Image Some notables on this image: This is another dynamic clothing image like Daru on Naboo. I had a little bit of a hard time getting the top to stay up far enough because, well, gravity makes things fall! Second, I achieved the bloom & soft lighting in Photoshop. I realize the hair is clipping quite a bit, but after a certain number of hours of tweaking and fixing and re-rendering, there's only so much you can take before "enough!" starts to eke its way out of your mind. Update 38: Hi everyone! I'm sorry I've been away such a long time. I have been super busy the past few weeks, but not too busy to fire off a few renders. Today I've got two new images. First one of Lana that I had to do up to quickly mark the 1st year anniversary of using Poser: Full Image It's nothing too fancy. I didn't really have any big ideas at the time after making my last Max image (which admittedly I feel I should have saved for just the 4 additional days for the occasion), so I whipped this up quick. I tried to get a feeling a movement, both a little wind and of spinning with the straps. Next, it's Renas turn: Full Image On this I was inspired to try some volumetric lighting. I like the way it came out. How about you guys? On a side note, this is Rena's first non-series solo image since I made her! I can't believe I haven't given her more due time over the last year. I will be getting around to people's threads over the rest of the weekend. I hope to see some great new stuff! Don't ask about the title. I felt dramatic. Two new pieces today! First, the latest image of my Rocket Girl Max titled "Off Duty". This is set to take place a few minutes after Max was discharged for the day, possibly just before headin down to her favorite place: Full Image And now, a brand new Ciel piece titled "Regal" for what I hope are obvious reasons: Full Image Portrait Hope you guys enjoy them! :) Update 39: OMG! It's like totally my birthday! I worked on a render for the previous two weeks to celebrate! I hope ya'll like it! I had fun making it. Full Image Update 40: Whew! This image...god I've been working on it off and on since my birthday, and continuously for the past four days. I hope someone out there enjoys it! Registered members of my website (free!) can download a super awesome hi-res version. :) I made the natural scenery in Vue, which is much of what took so long. The rest of the task was figuring out where Lana should be in such an exotic outfit! This just might be one of the most clothed Twi'lek images I've ever done! And look, Halloween and birthdays are creeping up on me so I'm going to have to work faster! Also, I hope no one minds if I start a little watermarking. I tried to come up with something unobtrusive, but still unique. I'm starting to have a little bit of an issue with my stuff popping up in places around the web. Full Image Update 41: Hey ya'll! This is a non-SW update today. I've got 5 sexy Halloween costumes for the human alter-egos of my Twi'lek girls. No thumbnails today, but that's because I'd rather offer up the titles of each image: "Toil and Trouble" "Yee-Haw!" "Circle the Wagons" "The French Connection" "Shiver Me Timbers" Hope ya'll enjoy! :) Update 42: Full Image The image says it all. This was my thank you image to everyone @ Rendo' that made it happen. However, I find it somewhat ironic that this image is well on track to having the lowest response of any of my images in months (@ Rendo'). I also want to thank all of you who continue to come to my thread here to enjoy my artwork and especially to thank those who do take the time to leave comments. Everything is extremely appreciated. Update 43: Finally a Star Wars image! Two even! First we have a compaion piece to Lana's Retreat from a little while back, this time featuring Daru in "Fall Beauty": Full Image I realize that there are a few minor problems such as shadows not lined up properly w/ the scenery in some places (I have no idea what that's all about, unfortunately) and zippers that aren't obeying gravity, but please don't let that distract you too much! To go along with that, I've got a full body standing shot of Daru's outfit: Full Image Also, I haven't been entirely idle in the past month. I made a Halloween image of a sexy succubus that I can't post here for somewhat obvious reasons, and I also made this new image of Max: Full Image I wanted to save it until I had some Star Wars stuff to post with it since I've had so many non-SW images in a row in recent past. Anyway, hope you all enjoy! In the next few days over Thanksgiving vacation I'll be coming around to catch up on stuff I missed around here! I've got a small update, w/ a new view of Daru's newest outfit: Full Image Enjoy :) Update 44: And now, my big project over the last week, and my entry into the Fan Art Challenge for the month, I present to you all Tenel Ka Chume Ta' Djo, Queen of the Hapes Consortium (circa 40 ABY): Full Image From a technical standpoint, this image was done in the brand new Poser 7, using the brand new model Victoria 4.0. Poser 7 brings much better memory management to the table than previous versions, helping me to make my ridiculously hi-res images even higher res and with more elements of detail in them. :) I wouldn't dare bringing V4's high-res texture maps into Poser 6...it would all over and die. And in case any of you are wondering (I know I was!), here's what Daru looks like in Poser 7: Full Image Update 44a: OOPS! My remake of "New Face of the Rebellion" had the wrong (i.e. old) image linked to it. Here's the REAL new one: The New Face of the Rebellion Update 46: Long time no post! I haven't been entirely dormant, it's just I didn't think my Xmas/holiday image would pass the censor (Lana wearing not much more than a santa hat and her own hands), and then there was the gratuitous T&A image of Oola and Rena in bikinis to rebel against newly strict thumbnail regulations over at Renderosity. Well, finally I've got something new that I'm proud to show off. It's Ciel, here to show off the latest "Retro Future" fashion chic from Coruscant. Enjoy! This is my last render that was done on my old computer a few days ago. It's just Lana. I wanted to have a nice simple image with good lighting of her iconic outfit (sans swords, which I didn't think fit with the pose): Full Image I'm now on a Core 2 Duo machine w/ Windows Vista Ultimate. Poser 7 seems to be playing decently w/ Vista, so I should have some more new things soon! Update 49: Well, I figured I had done so many Twi'lek images in a row that I needed to let my human girls come out to play! I did this set up on my new computer over the past couple days: Just Hangin' Around: Full Image Still Hangin' Around: Full Image Both were rendered in Vue, with the background scenery based on a pack-in scene that I modified (rearrangement, scaling, retexturing the building). Hope you all enjoy this "everyday" take on Daru! Update 50: Update 50, woo! Full Image Now do you believe in the Easter Bunny? Just a quickie for the season featuring Daru and Lana in BVH's awesome Bunny outfit. Happy Easter everyone! Update 51: Hey ya'll! No, I'm not dead. I've just been very busy. I'll be getting around to threads very soon, so if there's something you feel I just shouldn't miss don't hesitate to drop me a PM! First I've got a couple images of my new elf girl, Kaiya: Full Image I realize there are a few mistakes in this image, but once you reach a certain point, it's just not worth starting over Full Image - Kaiya in the Treetops The second image makes use of just about every trick I know so far, including a few new ones like the depth of field effect. In the end it turned out to be a little too subtle, but there was a balance I had to try to strike between completely blurring out the hard work I did on the background and having the effect actually show up in the final image. I thought I had reached that balance but feedback has been different. Finally, my new Star Wars image, this time featuring Oola in a new outfit "So Sexy": Full Image "Caught Off Guard" refers to the surprised expression I was going for (not sure I was entirely successful), and one of my regulars on RadiantCG offered up this explanation after I mentioned that I had originally intended this to be an image of Daru: Solaris_Wave posted: I think the reason she has been caught off guard and has that surprised look is because she has borrowed Daru's outfit and Daru has either caught her trying it on in the bedroom or after she has just come back. I figured since Oola has had a little more time off, I'd make it her turn instead of Daru. I hope you'll excuse me if the next image ends up being Daru again though. After all this time, she's still my #1. Update 52: Full Image This started out as a wallpaper for myself, but I thought that maybe everyone else might enjoy it too. It's somewhat of a remix but I'll justify it by pointing out what should be obvious to regular viewers: Lana's new outfit debut! I'll also point out that the renders of Daru and Rena are newly redone for this image (re-lit both and Daru partially reposed) and higher res than either original. The full download resolution of this image is 5333x4000 (4:3 so it should scale down nicely to nearly any standard background resolution you need). So here all 5 girls are together ready for a night of clubbing on Coruscant! I'm kinda feeling like they might need a sixth to round out the numbers, but (if she were to appear) what color would she be? Thanks for looking and for your comments! Update 53: Ok I realize this post is getting really long, so hopefully I'll find some time to do some consolidation and cleaning up soon...I wouldn't hold your breath though, he he. Anyhow, big set of updates for you all here today! First we've got a several images of Lana in her outfit from "Trendy Twi'lek Girls", including the silhouette teaser image that I posted on my site while I was still working on the final image: Full Image: "Orange Teaser" Full Image: "Lana's Coruscant Clubbin' Fashion" Next up we have my most recent pieces, featuring Daru enjoying a lovely sunset on Naboo: Full Image: "Nabooian Sunset" Full Image: "Daru's Nabooian Sunset" The wide shot took 12 hours to render, the closeup took 9, but it ended up corrupted b/c I had the wrong output setting checked. So, I had to re-render it and it took 10 hours. Finally, at that point I realized that the rooftops were the wrong color for Nabooian architecture (they were orange), so I had to re-render the rooftop portion for each, taking about a 90 minutes for each one. Needless to say there was a lot of waiting involved in these images! I also applied a bit of depth of field effect here, in order to increase the realism like taking a photograph. I first used the effect in "Kaiya In The Treetops", and took the feedback I received on that one into account here. Anyhow, thanks for looking, and for your comments! Update 54: This update is focused solely on a very special Twi'lek. Her name is Oola. She is the first (female) Twi'lek that the world ever laid eyes on. Even though it was not she who caused me to fall in love with them, that honor goes to Aayla Secura, much honor is deserved to this character because without her, none of the other multicolored would exist -- not Lyn Me, Aayla Secura, Ayy Vida, Mission Vao, the Twin Suns, Darth Talon, Astraal Vao, Daru, nor any of my other girls. Tonight, I bring you my tribute to Oola, based on an old promotional photo featuring her signature pose and iconic outfit. This promo image is the basis for the "iconic" representation of the Entertainer profession on the Star Wars Galaxies website. Without any further ado, the amazing, legendary Oola, the one who started it all: Note: Slight NSFW warning on this set of images (teaser and portrait exempted). Oola's iconic outfit, is, as we all know, a semi-transparent mesh. Full Teaser Image Full "Amazing Oola" Image Full "Living the Legend" Image (included old promo photo for comparison) Full "Portrait of an Icon" Image Note, attached to the full hi-resolution download of this image on my website is a special 1600x1200 wallpaper-ready version of the portrait. If any of you have the bandwidth, I highly recommend downloading the ultra hi-res of the portrait from my website. The detail will blow you away (as is my goal on most of my renders). I'm particularly proud of Oola's teeth, new eyeshadow to better match the original photo, and the work I put into making the rusted metal material of her collar. All you have to do to obtain the hi-res version is complete a quick, free registration at my website (completely free and spam free! I don't sell or use the e-mail addresses for anything but to contact you if you've been posting naughty things!) I'd love to offer up the downloads without registration, but I must have some method to attempt bandwidth control. The pose for this set of images was done entirely from scratch by me, using the photo as reference. It wasn't as much of a nightmare to work with posing the rope, but it was still quite an endeavor. Update 55: I'm going to Comic-con tomorrow! I'm hoping the fine DH people are there (particularly Jan and Jon) so I can get them to sign my Legacy TPB and thank them for bringing us the awesomeness that is Legacy and giving me something to look forward to since LotF is terrible... In the meantime, I have two new non-SW images, both of which feature Kaiya: Full Image Full Image The second image I made specially to be the desktop wallpaper of my new laptop! Yay! I can Poser on the go if I want now! I'm trying to get network rendering w/ Vue set up but no luck so far. Update 56: Well, today's the day yet again that I turn another year older. It's turned into somewhat of a tradition for me to make a special render on my birthday. Two years ago it was a simple Daru image, last year the present wrapped nearly naked Twi'leks, and this year it's a beach bash to celebrate the last warm days of Summer (yeah I know fall started like 3 days ago). I'll be the first to admit that the beach scenery is not the best. I ran out of time and this is the best I could get it to look before my self-imposed deadline. There may be individual close-up shots from this image to follow. Update 64: To celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars in theaters this week, I thought it would be a fun "what if" exercise to see what Anakin's new padawan] would look like in the unlikely event that she happens to make it out of the Clone Wars into adulthood (since she's about a decade too young for me as depicted in the time period). It was quite a challenging task to try to work backwards from the exaggerated proportions and style employed by the new movie/tv series and come up with a more realistic take on the character as an adult. In the end, I'm not entirely sure I went far enough in pulling back on some of the facial features, but if you take a look at people like Femi Taylor (Oola!) or model Jessica White I don't think my Ahsoka is far out of bounds. This also marks the first appearance of a Togruta in my galleries! Full Image - Ahsoka Tano - All Grown Up! Special thanks to HanSolo29 for feedback during the creation! Update 65: It's my birthday once again! I'm another year older, but it also means that I get to create another birthday image! =D This time, it's Daru from the rooftops of Coruscant. 	I like them. It is great that somebody else is using Poser. I just got the program a few months ago. I am still trying to figure out how to use it. I didn't even know you could change the lip color of the figures with Poser. I knew I could change the skin color, but I didn't know I could do the same with the lips. So did you do these with Poser only or did you finished the details with Photoshop or Corel Painter? Did you make the lekku by morphing the head yourself? Which figure is this? I have just the basics--Jessi and James. Are there other's you would recommend? I love the clothes. Did you purchase them from the Poser website or some other company? Sorry about all the questions. You did a great job. If you are not sure whether a picture is PG enough to post you may want to run it by our moderator, HanSolo29, first. 	Thanks for the warm reception you two! To answer AG88's questions, all of my Twi'lek renders are done in Poser 6 with no postwork except for compositing the collage. My three characters, Daru, Oola, and Rena are all based off of Victoria 3.0, one of the best models to own because it has the most content for it (both free and commercial). You can grab V3 at www.daz3d.com. They've got her free for a limited time. However, to really reach the full potential of the model, you need the head and body morph packs. While a little pricey, once you have them you can create just about any person you desire! I haven't used Jessi much b/c I only recently bought Poser 6. Back in Poser 4, V3 was queen and still is, though Jessi is becoming a fairly popular model to use. As for colors, check out the Material room. A great community site for Poser is Renderosity. They have a large marketplace and free stuff area of community created content. Don't let "community created" fool you, much of it is top quality stuff. The Twi'lek headtails as well as the Leia Slave outfit come free the free stuff area of Renderosity. You can also host your rendered images there. There is some spectacular artwork over there. If you like Twi'leks, I suggest checking out the works of chimera46, though most of his end up naked. Anyhow, I'll be PMing several images to the moderator to see if they're fit for posting here. 	Greetings Giolon and welcome to the forum! These are lovely studies, and that Poser program seems to be quite the creative tool! I like the colors you've chosen for them, although I'd like to see a bit more contrast in their skintones (by way of more lights and darks to define form and volume)--the faces seem to have a bit more of that (contrast), but the figures sort of "flatten" a bit, form-wise--a few more highlights on arms and legs would help out with this a lot, I think! 	I like them. It might be cool to see more detailed textures for the skin and clothing though... I realize that the actresses in the movies were painted pretty much flat colors, but more interesting textures makes for for interesting images. And I have to say, I wouldn't be surprised if people were "offended" by your images. It seems like a lot of people have to take it upon themselves to be the morality police, even to the point of defining a nude (or semi-nude) form as "obscene." Nonsense. I say keep posting. EDIT: And I realize that fan art is really an interpretation of someone else's idea... but the breasts on all of the characters are way large. Then again, I have had some models that have had chests like that, so... yeah. Maybe it's the tallness, combined with those breasts. Especially Oola. The woman who played her was a dancer, IIRC, and she wasn't really super ultra buxom. About the textures... I just looked at the blue girl pics... I like the skin textures on her. 	Thank you, Thrawn. The blue girl, Daru, is the one that has the most work put into her. She's my favorite. In most of the renders, she has an excellent realism script applied to her skin. However, I haven't managed to get it to turn out good results for Oola or Rena yet. I appreciate all the feedback given here, especially since it's presented in such a constructive way! I'd just like to mention that I am not a texture artist nor a modeler, so I take what I can find/buy for my Poser projects and use them. My primary work on all of these renders is in the design of the face, skin colors, poses, and body shape. I realize the body shapes aren't tailored to everyone's likings, but Star Wars is fantasy after all In the meantime, I do have more images to post that I have already created. In the future I will do my best to take into account some of the excellent feedback I've received so far! I do things a little different from you (probably because I still am not skilled using poser 6). I get the basic pose, face, hair and dress and then import my figure into Corel painter or Digital Image Pro 10 (A little like Photoshop). From there I can adjust skin tones, and paint on details of clothing. The Poser clothing just doesn't look natural to me. I also often run the final result through a filter. Only because I don't like the obvious computer generated look I get from Poser. But I guess it is just practice. Your work looks outstanding. How long have you been working with Poser? If you say 4 months I will cry. That is how long I have had my poser program. I guess the only thing that looks sort of weird to me is some of the props on the Twi'leks give off shadows and others don't. If the shadowing is not right it appears like the the clothing or headgear are floating in front of the figure. Does that make sense? I think if you import the images into PS or Corel painter and do some touch up work on the shadowing you will have a more realistic image. And I am not talking about a lot of work. Just some simple shadowing around the edges of the costume. I took a couple minutes to give you an example at what I mean: http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/6614/shadowing8op.jpg There isn't much difference but it seems to me that a little shadowing makes it look more natural. Ack! I really hate giving constructive criticism when I know you are leaps and bounds ahead of me working with Poser. I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful images. It's only the earlier ones where it's too large. I've been working with Poser for just short of three months. Thank you for the compliments. As for the shadowing, I hadn't really noticed that some of the props don't cast shadows, but the type of shadowing that you showed in your example is supposed to be supported in Poser 6 w/ an option called Ambient Occlusion. I honestly haven't tried to play with that feature much. I'll be trying it in the near future to see if I can get the desired effects out of it. I understand that many people like to Photoshop their Poser images, either because they use Poser as just a rough concept or to create more stylized images, but I have minimal real artistic skills w/ programs like photoshop so I like to get the most out of Poser that I can! Don't feel bad about the constructive criticism, I welcome it! Every bit helps me make my renders better! And finally, I'm glad you enjoyed my gallery! Eventually I was encouraged to try my hand at actual art using Corel Painter. Still I am in total awe of the wonderful artistic talent in this forum. People who draw with pencil in hand and can make it look like a photograph. It is amazing. I would appreciate if you look at some of my later Poser works Here and see what you think. I first started with purely photo manips, but later on I added poser 6 stuff. Just check out my NJO series stuff (that is mostly poser) at the end of my first post. 	New image posted. Not to trumpet my own work, but I liked how this one came out so much that I ordered a 23" x 23" poster of it for my wall! I love the stares. I find Daru's to be especially entrancing. I actually made this several days ago so the feedback from these messages hasn't been incorporated. Hopefully this next weekend I'll have some time to do some new works. I took a look into doing some of the "Ambient Occlusion" shadowing, and I found that it requires raytraced lighting to be used. While not necessarily a problem, shadow maps produce softer shadows and can be saved between renderings to speed up rendering time. I do plan on playing more with AO but it takes some tweaking to get the settings right to produce proper shadows w/o creating weird artifacts. 	Very nice work. Those are some beautifully sensual poses. So you made a poster of it. I know your bio doesn't give your gender, but I am going out on a limb here and guess you are a guy. I bet your are getting a strong male following for your work. Don't get frustrated about lack of replies, I think the majority of the people who frequent these boards are lurkers.
