Thank you, both! I'm glad that you noticed all the details in there, FF! Sorry I've been out so long, so I haven't had time to get into everyone's current works, but I hope to get some time soon. Unfortunately its not likely to be this weekend since I have family over for the holiday.

RE: Giolon's Twi'leks and More: Updated 4/21/06 5:15pm PST -- Cheesecake! Three Flavors to Choose F
Hello everybody! It's been a while since I was last here, and even longer since I had a Star Wars image to post! I spent the past couple days inspired by the nice weather we'd been having (after literally 38 days straight of rain). Sunshine, warm weather -- these are the inspirations for my next images: blatant cheesecake. Yeah, sometimes you just feel like cheesecake. You've got three flavors to choose from today:
Strawberry:
Full Image
Blueberry:
Full Image
Apple:
Full Image
These three were posed in Poser and rendered in a new program I got called Vue. Vue is designed for rendering outdoor scenes, like Bryce. Anyhow, enjoy the nifty water, sunlight, and of course, the cheesecake.
I'll be heading around the gallery this weekend to look over stuff I've missed in the past few weeks.

Definitely need to look up some tutorials for moving stuff back and forth between the two programs... or maybe not. The skin doesn't seem to be off, you just chose odd materials for the bathing suits. Especially on the 'strawberry' one, it detracts from the image. Also, you've exposed another weakness of the computer rendering of humans: specularity. Humans never really have the uniform sheen that you gave them, even wet ones. Well, ones that are wet from real water. The water beads, it leaves trails, some parts dry before others, etc. And that doesn't even take into account the variations that the human body itself creates.

I'm actually re-rendering the "strawberry" replacement image right now (takes a while). It should be more white, less reflective. What you see there isn't the original bikini. I had to pull in a new one b/c the original was deemed too revealing. Moving from Poser to Vue is fairly easy, but the advanced material options in Poser 6 don't get carried through. I don't have any wet skins to use, so I have to make due with the highlights for now. I too am aware of the limits of hobbyist rendering.
Edit: Strawberry re-rendered w/ the less reflective bathing suit.

Very nice, Giolon.
38 days of rain? Where do you live? Hawaii or Portland? We had two days of rain here and I am going crazy with my boys who have cabin fever (unfortunately, it is also Spring break for them).
Anyway, about your renderings. I like the water. It is very realistic. I have to check out Vue.
Although I wont be able to afford any new programs for a while. I bought a new computer yesterday. Yep, I am trading in my 256MB Ram for 2 GB. It wont be delivered for a couple weeks though.
Hopefully when it arrives I will be able to make bigger and better neekid Farmboys.
Keep up the good work. You are doing great with those two programs.

Wow, Vue certianly does some nice water!
My brother has a program called Terrigan (i think i spelled that right) Which does landscapes and things of that nature. But Vue looks really neat too. I think the water looks great, and the sand too! Well you know how I feel about outfits like that, but you did a good job with them.
Anyways my family is moving very soon so if I don't post to anything for a while at least you'll know why.
Take care and God bless!

I very much like your new "landscaping" program,
Giolon
--the water and sky are very convincing, and the light seems very natural. The figures are, as usual, very "alluring," but I think I have to agree with
alienyouthct
that the sheen on the skin makes it look almost like smooth plastic rather than flesh--perhaps "softening" the highlights just a bit, or using a slight "texture" to the skin (I have no idea if something like that would even be possible for Poser, though...) would help. "Blueberry" looks like she needs to have her head "lowered" to the sand a bit (I'm assuming she's actually lying
on the sand
there)--the shadow beneath her head and headtails makes her look as though she's suspended a few inches off the surface, rather than lounging
on
it. Other than these couple of "nit-picks" these are very pretty--and I'm guessing we'll be seeing more "environments" from you now you have Vue!

: California. We beat the 102 year old record for most consecutive days of rain in march by five days, and then it continued 7 or so more days into april! It was nuts. You're gonna love that new computer with all that RAM! Even going from 1GB to 2GB vastly increased what I was able to pull off in Poser. Vue is much nicer with the memory usage thus far.
Nidrail
: Yep, Vue is quite similar to Terragen! I know you're a fan of the demure, but in such sunny nice weather how can they resist!? Good luck with your move! Don't leave anything behind!
FalconFan
: Thank you for the feedback, FF! As I mentioned before, wet skin
is
hard to do w/o the right textures, which I don't have, so I tried to make do. As you can see, the success of that is rather middling. Plus, Vue just flat out doesn't seem to do skin as well. Understandably, b/c it's designed for outdoor landscapes! Perhaps with some more time and learning... On Daru's pic, Blueberry, her lekku are actually supposed to be supporting her head, b/c they are underneath and touching the ground, but I can see what you mean, and now it stands out to me. I may go back and fix it, but since these take a while to Render, I may just move on and be more aware of it for the next time!
Thank you all for your comments and feedback and for stopping by!

Wow. They're all good. And for not knowing anything about this program (I think you all are calling it "poser") that might not be saying much. But, non the less, they are excellent.

Thank you,
KingOATATs
,
mMathab
, and
Veers
! I do hope you'll stop by again soon!
And now for today:
Update 27:
In case you haven't noticed, I'm one of those "completionist" types of people. If I have one part of a collection, I must have it all. This carries over across many things: action figures, movies & their sequels, video games, you name it. And of course, it factors into my artwork. So without further ado, I bring you the cheesecake images of my last, but not least, two girls. I did try to incorporate feedback on my "wet look" here.
Grape:
Full Image
Orange:
Full Image
I now have enough flavors to make a bowl of alien fruit loops! Ya know...that'd be a great title for an image of all of them together...
Edit: I may re-render Orange over the weekend, because I'm not very happy with the horizon.
