LOL!!!! I don't think I could have imagined cuddly little wicket looking quite so mean!
GORGEOUS background, and the characters too! VERY nice!!!!
LOL Fenrisulven--that was the nice thing about episode 1 and 2--blowing apart droids isn't so bad.

I somehow got a sudden flash of the enemy fighter plane, diving out of the sun at its target...and here we are! Awesome angle to this, Basement: I love that we're the only ones seeing him coming in this heartbeat--the trooper is oblivious! The little spray of leaves around Wicket is another wonderful touch--it really puts this whole thing into the freeze-frame category; so much action, energy, anger (Wicket's got a wonderful expression here--no love for the Empire, that's for sure! lol!) and movement! I love the way your "mind's eye" works--you always seem to get a perspective or an idea that no one else has thought of before--so original, and so fun to see! Great, great work!

OMG! That is one awesome piece of artwork!
Seriously, I really love this. The perspective on this one is intense and it really raises the bar in terms of quality. The details on Wicket are outstanding and you almost get a hint of sympathy for that poor scoutrooper. Excellent job, Basement24! Way to take that extra step in completing the challenge!

Hi everyone! I've been so busy this month, I've had no time to respond!
I'm really glad everyone liked this piece. I always appreciate all your comments. I wanted to work on the Ewok challenge, but didn't know what to do, and I was just sketching and came up with this one. I so happy it's a popular one! I might have to turn it into a wallpaper, I like it a lot myself, and sometimes it takes me a bit to warm up to my own work.
Here's a new one, not a challenge piece, but just a quick one I had on the books for about 2 months now. Just finished it off to my liking and thought I'd share. It's kind of back to that newer style I've been toying with which some people like, and some don't. It's based on photo reference too for likeness and pose, but still all hand-drawn by me.
There was a promo picture with this staging in it for Episode I, but I found if it was handled a bit differently in lighting and such, it made a casual pose become a very 'lost-looking' pose. I imagine this would take place after Qui-Gon's death. Obi-Wan doesn't really know what to do, and Anakin's uncertain about his future, with a bit of gathering darkness to him.
ANAKIN and OBI-WAN
Looking forward to this month's challenge! Here's hoping I will have time to do it! :P

Oh, I love this! What great colors and lighting you've used here--it really gives the piece the somber feel you were intending, I think--I also love that here, even before they come to grips with the loss of Qui-Gon, they're facing away from each other, rather than pulling together... Very telling--to me, anyway! Beautiful likenesses, as well--all around a wonderful piece!

Wow, it looks great!  I love Obi-Wan! (only good thing about Ep I, if you ask me  )
And I agree with FalconFan about them facing away from each other, that it's very telling, esp if you have a look at Ep III. Very well done!
And how could I miss Wicket?! 
He looks just awesome, so evil! Poor scout-trooper. Let the Ewok win!

I gotta say B24 I love that Ewok piece. Great angle to capture the action. Since the name is 'Celebrate the Love' I'm taking it that the Ewok is going to give him a big bear hug, no pun intended

Thanks everyone! I'm always glad people are enjoying my work.
Here's a new one for the fan art challenge. It's kind of a quick one, but it's on the Probe Droid theme. I call it "Probe Droid Hunting", but as to if it's hunting Han, or if Han's hunting it, that's up to you to decide!

Yeah!! There's that creative eye, at it again!! What a great piece, Basement: it's exactly like you say--is it hunting Han, or vice versa (...or both...?)? My guess is that it's both--each is the hunter. It just comes down to which one pounces first! Another wonderful piece!
