Hi, Ingrid!
Been eons since I posted over here but I thought it was high time, was just perusing and saw Jedipencil..hehe. OMG moment ensued..thought I'd say hello.
I'm just dying to see all of your Star Wars cards, but everything you do rocks.
That Baradur card over at Scoundrel just rules!
A note for everyone else...
Ingrid's just the best, truly quality work and a great gal. I am wholeheartedly a fan.

A bit of a delayed response here, but congrats on getting in on the official 30th card set! With how you were chugging along here, it was only a matter of time before you hit it big. Congrats again!
As for the cards themselves, I like the toss up between the colored and black and white images. Also, great likenesses on all of the face characters - these are really awesome!

Leah!! You are one heck of an artist yourself! Can't wait to see your new cards...wink wink!! Han Solo - thank you very much! I'm really proud of every card. Seeing as this was my very first set, I also realize that there are practical things I need to learn, and am really, really looking forward to the chance to apply what I'm learning to new sets. In all my years of illustrating, doing sketch cards is the most fun I've ever had. When I have some free time ( ) there are a bunch of things I want to try: those cards of Jacen, Jaina, Ben and all those characters, and some larger paintings as well. I truly appreciate everyone stopping by - - I don't always get the chance to return the favor...

I only came across them by accident as I was looking at some of the cards by one of the other artists on Star Wars.com, and got directed to this site, http://www.starwarssketchcards.com/30th/sketches/index.htm. I recogisned you from your myspace link on there. I hope I can find them in the UK when they come out!

Why thank you... My cards are not quite up to the level of the other incredible artists, but I humbly think I can improve. Understand, very proud I am, of every card I've done! And I'm doing extra cards for the set, so they'll be posted when they're approved.... and a new tool has finally arrived, and I think it'll get tried on them... stay tuned!
In the meantime, here are a few cards that were done while waiting for the extras to arrive ( they are not Star Wars cards...)

OMG!! You must be joking!! Your cards are every bit as beautiful as any I've seen by the "LFL Stable" of artists--and are a very unique style which makes them all the more special! As to improving--we all hope to continue with that--but please don't sell your current talents and skills short: your work is superb, and totally deserves to be showcased in collector cards!
These new LOTR cards are wonderful--particularly the Hobbits raising their mugs--I love that little moment, and you've captured the mood perfectly. Aragorn is yummy... Your watercolors are so gorgeous... Beautiful!

I wouldn't say that either. They are lovely. I like the LOTR cards, too.

You guys are sweet...:)... Think I'll have to take a bit of a break, just too tired. The last big week... . But in the meantime, here are a few more SW30 cards, a couple of submission cards, and LOTR... and as soon as I scan them, I've got a Joker and a Jack London - does anyone remember White Fang or Call of the Wild?

I read White Fang and the Call of the Wild when I was younger and going through the wildlife/animal story stage - I still have the books somewhere. I would probably still be reading those kind of books if more were written, but instead I got into Sci-Fi, Horror and Fantasy instead (still great when you come across werewolves or something, so I don't miss out on animals completely.)

Amazing cards, jedipencil--as always! I love some of the little moments you capture: Luke and Obi Wan, seeing the 'Falcon for the very first time, and in disbelief Luke remarks "What a piece of junk!" LOL! The Deathstar is awesome too--all the little pinpoints of light on the dark side of it really give it depth and volume. Gorgeous work! I also like that you've kept some in the black-and-white penciled versions; it gives us a chance to see a bit of your process from drawing to painting. The Joker is awesome! He gives me a chill here! And I haven't read White Fang in a long, long time, but your portrait of London is a wonderful reminder! Great, great work (now get some sleep! )!

Thanks FalconFan, Space_Wolf and earlybird-obi-wan! Well I haven't done Jacen yet, but I have started a few sketches of him, will show them another time... But for now, I did a super quick sketch for a VaderFest elsewhere - had to be done quick - and this is it. I've already corrected the Big Bum Effect... , but any crits are welcome as eventually I'd like to paint this. Then, below that and totally off topic, a few furry critters! The kitten was done from imagination as the request was to make her as I thought the adult might have been when young...
