I would like to congratulate you again on winning the Fan Art Challenge! Well deserved! applause

You achieve so much in all of your paintings. Your colors are always bright and vibrant and they appear to be leaping off the canvas. And we can't forget to mention all the emotion you manage to capture. That's one of the things that continues to draw me into your works. You really seem to capture what the characters are feeling and you convey that perfectly to the viewer. I'm looking forward to more!

Also, I'm enjoying the series of pieces you're doing for the fan fic. Keep it up!

Huge congrats and Wookiee-hugs on winning the Challenge, earlybird! The honor is well-deserved, and I echo all that our erstwile moderator has said about your lovely work! applause applause

I really like the drawing of Obi Wan with his son--and I agree: he would've made a wonderful father. I'm sure that jacen200015 is going to be doing handsprings for joy over these beautiful illustrations (it isn't often that a fan fiction author can boast original oil paintings to illustrate their story! grin )--the one with the two boys in the Temple and Master Obi Wan kind of looming up behind them gives a rather tense feel to the piece (were they being mischievous before...? wink ); the child seated by the stream, on the other hand, seems more melancholy and moody--what's on that datapad that has him so deep in thought...? Beautiful and insightful work, as always!

Can´t wait for tomorrow, when I am at the bird´s nest and can see all those paintings in RL.

dancing

Actually, I was at the bird´s nest with my husband DU yesterday. I am still happy and deeply impressed about it. Bird does not only do oil paints, sketches with pencils or drawings with crayons that can be found everywhere in her house:

She also does carpets, human figures (mostly out of clay), pillows, horses (out of various materials), cars and planes. I am deeply impressed still and have her allowance to post my photos here in her art thread.

Actually I behaved as a Japanese tourist during the tour through her house. blush

That made DU & her very smiley.

AzureAngel2´s up-date sock:

And DU was allowed to hold these very paintings:

But bird does not only do SW art. She also did this gentleman here who sits on her staircase:

And she also painted him:

Oh and I was given this LotR one:

But there is still so much more to tell about the bird and her skills. She did her own plane and car models. Here:

HER OWN models, mind you. Not the stuff that you buy in a box and stick together via a plan. Oh, no. She can work with wood in beautiful ways:

hugs

Amazing how fast you did work on it. Last Saturday it looked like this:

And now all is complete.

My husband DU is also very happy about the two finished paintings, beste bird. Hij is er heel blij over en zit met een groot glimlachje op ons sofa.

Actually our eyes wander off to the painting that you gave us instead of being fixed on the TV screen itself. The depth of it, the beauty of the waterfall and the shinning figure of Arwen... rose

It also helps me that each time I come home from a very tough school day with Dutch teens the first thing I see is your other two paintings that you gave me at a present: Obi meditating & Anakin with Padmé. Hartstikke bedankt! Then I remember that anger leads to the dark side and that you do not mind me being German at all.

hugs

Thanks. I am so happy to know you know in person, dear bird.

And I always will have a lot of happy memories and of course photos... wink ... of this first visit in your place.

My husband is also still smiley about it.
