Hi there CucumberBoy, and welcome to Fan Art! I have to say right off: these are some terrific vehicle designs--the details and perspectives are awesome, as is the originality--I love the contrast between the two starfighters: one on the gangly side, and one bordering sexy, it's so sleek!  The alien design is quite unique--lots of different elements there, as well as textures--very cool; and that "spider-type" crawler is drawn so very well (I feel like I should dive into the nearest trench or foxhole, as it's coming right at me! )! Wonderful work (we love the folks who can draw the tech stuff here!  ), and we'll be looking forward to future posts! Again--welcome, and thanks for sharing!

Welcome to the boards, CucumberBoy. Your artwork is really impressive. I admire anyone that can draw...but drawing ships and vehicles...I guess I don't use that creative side of the brain. The second to the top drawing is very reminiscent of the styles we see in the PT to the CT. I love its sleekness and the two side guns. Incorporating those really adds to the detail of this ship being in the SW universe. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

But what's PT and CT?
And about this thing you're saying: how vehicles are so hard to draw. Well I get you point - organic things are probably easier - but if you tried designing your own starfighters, droids etc - you probably wouldn't find it all too difficult.

Well, I use regular paper and any pencil I can find during my design-phase. Then I might clean them up or redo them in painter IX.:D

Wow! CB, I think the contrast between the clear-blue Coruscant sky and the black shadow of the steel grid is amazing. I'm looking for a word to describe the lines, perhaps Art Deco? It's late...for some reason my brain is drawing a blank.  It's a Friday. The brain is toasted.

Oh, cool!  Most excellent "concept-type" art--the light in particular is wonderfully done: the shadows from the large windows, the difference in those shadows with the angle of the surfaces. Very good! The "traffic" outside and the figures inside are a bit simplified, but I get the impression that this is more about setting up a scene and an atmosphere than about doing a lifelike render. A great piece--you may want to hang on to this one and revisit it again as your skills refine and improve with your program. I could see this becoming a true "concept painting" someday!

Nice to have so many compliments on my first try at a shot design
It's obviously not done yet - it's mostly the details I have to adress.
EDIT: I've done a few chhanges on the Coruscant piece. Mostly details.

Aaah, but a very cool painting =) And I love your vehicle designs, that sixth one really caught my eye. It's so bizarre in such a great way; I really like it.
