I HAVE SOLAR POWER!
In other words, I'm great. My fics would be fine, except I'm not working on them because I'm listening to songs from Enchanted and singing along and thus distracting myself.

How often do you work on your fanfic? If you don't mind me asking?

Almost every day, if I can manage it. I'm trying to finish an epic that I've had the idea for for almost four years and have been working on for almost three years now. It's about time I got around to finishing it, but I'm hardly half-way through.

Oh, wow. That sounds like a really massive project.
It must be really long by now then, I am guessing?

Yeah, it's pretty big. The plot bunnies breed, you know? It's about 130,000 words now. My computer has trouble spell-checking it because the word document's so large, so I actually have to spell-check new chapters in separate documents instead of the main one.
I'm officially saying good-bye to April Fool's day. I promised Nat that I'd change my colours from solar power at some point today, so I decided I'd best do that before I get kicked off the computer.

Nice colors, Idri. And what is with this solar power? At least DWB let up long enough for me to do a new chapter.
Usually I work on fic several times a week when I have time or inspiration- I am so busy that I definitely don't write as much as I'd like. Can't wait for next year's NaNo... I'll need a major plot rancor.

130'000! That is enormous!
Mines is somewhere between 10'000-20'000 at the moment.

Thanks, SithGirl. I want to go back to solar power, but thanks to Saga, I've had enough yellow for one day. And I promised Nat that I wouldn't spend all 24 hours of colour-hood being solar powered. Silver and blue are two of my favourite colours, so... They remind me of LotR for some reason. Green, gold and blue -- elven colours, methinks.
I have a pretty busy RL, but I always make room for writing fanfic, because it's such a big hobby of mine. Even if it's just for 15 minutes, I need to write. Even if it's a random blurb that will never see the light of day.
Arrakna -- it adds up after a while. My master just finished a 360,000+ epic the other day. Once you get hold of a plot bunny that spawns into a complex, massive story, things get out of hand and the words just start adding up.

The longest fic I've ever written was last year's NaNo, at 50,046 words. Next year I'd like to get over 60,000 if possible. I'll need a lot of inspiration and not to be dying of homework to do so.
Has anyone else read the webcomic Kidnapped by Gnomes? I think it's absolutely hilarious...and I got to meet the author as well. Once more way for me to procrastinate studying Italian.

I've only finished a couple fics, but started a few. Actually I haven't written anything for Star Wars in months, recently my creative talents have been busy with writing for school.
Why don't you save your chapters separately, but all in one folder so that you can find each one easier for purposes of editing or whatever.
Wow, I just think of umm... what's her face when I see your colours.

I work on my fanfic whenever I have the chance. For the past few days evil lil' plot bunnies have been hopping around and holding me captive for 2 + hours a day. I'm just trying to keep up with them all, since I'm trying the finish this one short story that is turning out longer then I expected, have an idea for another short story that could potentially turn out very long, random plot bunnies for the diary I'm keeping for the Diary challenge, and trying to work out a final plot for an original story I'm concocting. It's so much fun, I love to write.
I REALLY like this banner...

Today was really strange... we analyzed dreams in my sociology class ( ) and then I got really dehydrated from baking in the sun in a stuffy classroom. And then I didn't get anything to drink before going to rehearsal with my accompanist... and then got a massive headache. And then I drank water.
And now I'm online.
Yeah. That's the story of today.
Why don't you save your chapters separately, but all in one folder so that you can find each one easier for purposes of editing or whatever.
I've tried that, but I already have a folder for the fic with all the notes and other stuff... it's actually easier (for me) to keep it in one document. Except when spell-checking. But then, I do have a beta who catches anything that I miss. I hate Word's spell-checker, so I don't even use it that much.

That's why you create a subfolder.
Wow is anybody else freaked out by the little lines when you type your post?
