What kind of terrain? How was the weather? What was the marathon for? Or was it a practice?

No, no, no. Everything I write IS my own! I come up with all the ideas (unless she challenges me  ) and execute them. She's just my awesome sounding board, an encouraging inspiration, and beta reader. My lovely support. Things would rarely get finished without her annoying me to get on with it. Things would rarely get posted if she didn't do her best attempt at beta-ing.
Thankfully, I was running on a fairly nice track. The weather was very hot for the first half, but then the expected thunderstorm blew through. It was for the Relay for Life. I was totally pumped to do some more, but a terrible headache knocked me flat. I ended up leaving after 5 hours instead of the expected 24.  Still, if my posterior shin splints hadn't escalated to stress fractures earlier, I wouldn't be surprised if they have now. I don't know when to stop, do I?
Curse my stubbornness.
edit: note to self. Don't get in the hot tub when you're sunburned. Ow.

I think running on a track helped my mindset, because instead of thinking about one long destination, I just thought about how it was just "one more stupid lap."
And, if I'd been counting miles instead of laps - I would've collapsed really early. It wasn't until I called it quits at 48 laps when I realized exactly how much I'd run.

I've never run on a track before, I've done laps around a park near me, though. I find it really dull. The best thing for me is to set a random route through my town, memorize it, then just run. It works, even though I haven't gone farther then 3.4 miles yet. ((sigh)) I did it in 39 minutes, too, so I need to work on speed as well. I am SO far from my goal.

To be able to run 10K by the end of the summer at 9 minute miles, and to be able to run at least one mile in 6 or less minutes.

Last summer, I started out running strong, but decided my bed was much more comfortable during the cool mornings. My friends don't believe that I'm actually going to stick to it this summer, but their skepticism drives me more. I have to prove myself.

Guess what! It's been raining almost constantly for a couple of days and most of the creeks around here are flooded!
I've never seen the creeks that flooded. Like, I mean, 20m from the normal banks, across a field... I wish it weren't so cold, then we could go swimming! 
If you're wondering why that is amazing, we're in the middle of a drought...
And some of it's getting to the damns and everything!
Running 10K in 9 miles... seems a little inconsistent if you ask me... Good luck anyways, I'm more of a sprinter, but I can run 1km in 10mins! Or at least I could two years ago...

Cold+Running=sleeping Dev. I much prefer running in the 100+ heat than in anything below 70. It hurts my lungs.
