Approximately how long before the NJO era did the Yuuzhan Vong make a mess of their own galaxy and start heading out for other ones?
There was a possible mention of them in Knights of the Old Republic 1. That was 4,000 years BBY. Wookieepedia says this about it:
Before the Mandalorian Wars started, he witnessed what may have been the first Yuuzhan Vong scouting of the Galaxy when he spotted an asteroid-sized ship that spat fire and bore many similarities to those used by the Yuuzhan Vong. Canderous and his fellow Mandalorians tracked the ship rimward through hyperspace until they lost its trail near the galactic rim. The vessel could well have been of Vagaari origin though, as Ordo's recollection was vague.

Well, it depends on what you mean by "radio." If you mean a communications device, there are holocomms and handheld "comlinks". If you mean something like a stereo, I'm not sure that I've heard of a device specifically designed that way in SW. A holocomm is used to pick up things all over the HoloNet though. In SBS, we see Anakin listening to a news cast in the cockpit of his X-Wing. So I assume that's what one would use to pick up music, news, etc. over the HoloNet.

Does anyone know which universities and academies were around when Aldaraan was destroyed? I'm looking for a prestigious and important one, one that would be good enough to leave Aldaraan for.

The Imperial Academy entry in Wikipedia lists a few. I believe the one on Carida was the one Han Solo trained at for awhile. That or the Raithall Academy would probably be prestigious enough to leave Alderaan for.

55 BSW4 (before Star Wars IV): Bant Eerin is born. (based on The Captive Temple)
41 BSW4: Tahl takes Bant as her padawan. (based on The Ties That Bind)
41 BSW4: Tahl dies. (The Death of Hope - highlight-to-read'd for spoilage)
So, probably 14 years old for both questions.

Judging from the text at the Weirdest Guns Ever link, I think it's a revolver/knife from one of the Resident Evil games. I found references to the page calling it a gunblade, but that's probably a Final Fantasy VIII term.

I have a question about eyes. When Anakin became a Sith his eyes changed colour to yellow/red. What would happen if someone turned Sith and then turned back? Would their eyes stay the same or would they return to 'normal'?

Hmm . . .
Okay, it says here that Ani's eyes go blue-yellow-blue-yellow-blue in RotS. It seems they go yellow when he's being particularly Dark, so an ex-Sith's eyes would probably return to whatever color they started out as.
OTOH, I think it would be effective imagery to have an ex-Sith's eyes glow yellow when he/she feels those old Dark-side emotions.
Bottom line: it's your fic. Do what you like.
