Tahi posted:Hi Sakura. IMO Anakin is quite a complex guy - full of contradictions - which is what makes him interesting. I tend to write him more often as a teenager pre-SbS, so my version of Anakin is one with the usual teenage boy characteristics along with a very well-defined idea of his responsibilities as a Jedi. I also feel he swings a bit between absolute confidence in his abilities and a curious self-doubt, especially when he's having to take responsibility for others. He also tends to keep things to himself rather than share - so there's a kind of tension there between wanting to sort things out himself and yet knowing he needs input from others. He genuinely believes in the role of the Jedi to protect others, so I always try to show that. I write him as having a somewhat laconic sense of humour - able to laugh at himself. I also try to show that by himself he can be prone to being a bit gloomy sometimes - except when Tahiri's around. IMO he needs her more than she needs him, so I try to show he's - to an extent - dependent on her for his emotional well-being. IMO he has a pretty good relationship with Jaina - there's a lot of respect and kinship there. He and Jacen are quite different people though, although I think Anakin WANTS to get along with him. I also try to show that Anakin has a better relationship with his mother than his father. I see Anakin as a guy who fits in well with other guys - a "man's man" in other words. He's the type who would spend hours happily fiddling with motors, and forget about things he was meant to do. He's also the kind who can occasionally get lost in a world of his own to the extent of forgetting what he's doing - especially when he's problem-solving. A kind of absent-minded genius type. I write him as fairly red-blooded and sexy - but not tacky-sexy, just normal-sexy. Hope that helps.
