Sorry Darth_Mu. I thought they'd moved the RR discussion to the new thread.

Just thought I'd touch base with you all about the next issue of Anahiri. I'm going to be leaving New Zealand and making a trip to visit friends and rellies in the States in September, so would it be okay if we made October the month for the next issue. I don't think I'll have time to do it before I go. Too much other stuff to do plus I need to get my stories up to date.

In the meantime - start thinking up ideas for articles, reports and also maybe find a story to review. Also - if you'd like to do the favourite A and/or T passage from canon, let me know. happy And if you'd like to offer some suggestions for who you'd like to have interviewed - PM me with your ideas. I'd appreciate some input on that. happy

Hope that is okay. happy

Sounds awesome, Tahi! grin I'm happy to help any way I can, so just let me know what you'd liked.

October sounds like a good month. Gives everyone a chance to catch up with any new A/T 'fics circulating (I think I've seen a few), and it gives you a chance to enjoy your holiday, and all the preparations that go with it. happy

I'm so pumped for you! grin

ATTN: Ladies and Gentlemen and Those-In-Between.

While Yobi and I are judging the "Not for the Eyes of Younglings" challenge (TahiriSoloFan has been extremely busy as of late, and cannot resume her judging duties; LosDosMos will fill in for her in the next magazine's challenge), the next challenge is going to be a bit of a change of pace.

Tahi and I agree that an unjudged challenge would be fun while waiting for the next magazine. I'd like to encourage more people to write entries without the added pressure of competition and a deadline.

With that said, here's theme for the new challenge: to incorporate this theme into an original A/T story: "A need for discretion."

Or if that completely blows, I have a list of other possible themes. tongue

The same general rules apply, but there will be no deadline, and entries do not have to be PMed to the judges, though they can be if you choose, since we'd appreciate all the Anahiri we can get. tongue

The next challenge after this one, however, will be judged, so beware. tongue

Sounds awesome!! grin I'll have to pull my muse out of the gutter and get something up for this.

Oh, and BTW, Whitey... that idea doesn't blow. I think it's a great one. grin

It's been a while since I've written A/T, but I think the challenges need a little more meat, if you will. A theme is a cool idea, and does it wide open to the author's imagination, but I prefer something with a little more structure. Not a micro managed challenge with too many elements, but something with a little more direction.

Am I crazy?

Yes.

tongue

Seriously, though, I want people to have the freedom to do whatever they want with the theme, and I'm lost as to how to make this more structured without adding some random rule.

Do you have any specific ideas?

I certainly see the benefit of having that freedom. For me, when doing challenges, I like to have some guidlines to meet. It can make it more fun...for me.

I could think of some ideas.
