His squadron is nonexistent, Jaina Solo refuses to acknowledge his presence, and he can't seem to keep a girlfriend for longer than a week. But he doesn't mind his troubles too much. Being a drunk, rogue Jedi is amusing, and it gives him a rakish self-image. Life isn't too bad. But everything quickly changes. Jaina is kidnapped by the Adumari Liberation Front, and the ALF mean her silly harm of their demands aren't met. Jag Fel is secretly in love with the beautiful Jedi, but doesn't know what to do. Pansy Jacen is taking a reasonable (aka- cowardly) approach, the Solos and Skywalkers are on a top-secret mission in the Unknown Regions, and Anakin's still dead. Jag has one last person to turn to: Kyp. But Kyp and Jag don't get along too well. And Kyp had a fling with Jag's little sister Narcissa a month ago. And Kyp has a drinking problem. Not to mention that both men have a thing for Jaina. Can they save the lassie? Or will they kill each other first? This story brought back great memories for me, my dad used to do the same thing with me. It’s wonderfully sweet without being gooey. If you need a brighter glimpse of the post-NJO future after reading too much angst then this is the perfect viggie. Title: Lifeline Author: Eldritch009 Timeframe: NJO Tagline: The Chiss decide to reach out a helping hand to the Jedi Order, by offering them a new world within their borders. Colonel Jagged Fel travels to Yavin 4 and brings the proposal before Luke Skywalker. There he meets Jaina again... Review: One of the J/J standby classics that has been around forever has FINALLY been finished! Heaven forbid, this story has probably set the record for longest WIP Personally, I found this story over at ff.net and followed it over here sometime around Jan of '02. And I'm not the only nut that has waited around to see this finished so that just goes to show how good this story really is Do you want a wild and original AU storyline with steamy (but minimal and tasteful) J/J romance, classic Han lines, X-wing jocks, all three Solo kids, Chiss, Imperials and an SSD? Look no further my friends, it's all here Personally, my favorite part was when they evacuated the Jedi Academy (Jaina and Jag fighting off the bad guys together and running thru the jungle ). And all the explosions, did I mention there are lots of explosions? And cliffies, and the Fel family and oh, a teensy weensy proposal So what are you waiting for? I'll say more. You can make it even better. This is what Tkeira Lea did with her 5 part vignette series that takes place before and during Dark Tide: Ruin. The story resolves around young Colonel Jagged Fel and his first trip to the Known Regions. We learn what made him go to Ithor and why was he so interested in Jaina in the first place. The plot is great and writing is very well done. The main characters are really well written and we get much more inside of their life and experience. One of my favourite stories. This is a must read for Jagged Fel fans. Title: Voices Author: jedishellyskywalker Timeframe: NJO, post Destiny's Way Characters: Jaina, Jag, Han, Leia, Luke, Mara, Jacen, Tahiri, many more, and some OC's Summary: When Jaina and Jag first depart on a diplomatic mission together, their initial worries are mainly concerning Jaina's parents getting in the way of their relationship, but little do they know that they have far worse things ahead of them... Meanwhile, Tahiri is having troubles of her own... Notes: There's even some reader cameos included!] Review: What should a good Star Wars story have? Action, humor, mush and angst... Well if you are looking for this kind of story then you must read this story. It has everything mentioned earlier and lots more. For Tahiri fans this story will be also a good read. Fans of the story got even their camoes in the story This story is really worth of reading. You shouldn't be disappointed. The only and worst thing about it is that the story is not over. Notes: High level of angst; Songfic Review: When I saw this story on Beyond the Saga board I thought that this is again some romance J/J flick. But I decided to read it and to my suprise it went in totally different way then I expected. The story was pretty original and the plot went very well. The level of angst was reaching sky and the tragedy, that was in the air, finally happened. To sum up I need to say that it is a really enjoyable story, that gives an interesting look on what might happen to people when they are hurt by their beloved. My only complaint is that it could have been done in slower and it could have been longer. Nevertheless it was a really good read. NYCitygurl's Reviews Title: Many Faces of the Force Author: Jaina_Solo_15 Timeframe: NJO Summary: Jaina and Kyp find Callista on a planet being attacked by the Vong. She claims that she can feel the Vong in the Force, but is she telling the truth? Review: Jaina and Kyp find Callista on a planet being attacked by the Vong. She claims that she can feel the Vong on the Force so they take her back to Mon Calamari. Luke sends Callista and Jaina to the Jedi Shelter in the Maw so that she can teach, but it puts a strain on Mara and Jaina. With them goes Twin Suns squadron, including Jag. As the story unfolds, the war puts a strain on Jaina and Jag's relationship as they try to rescue Jacen from the Vong. I really liked the way the relationships between characters were dealt with, and the way Callista seems to twist bonds between characters. I also liked the way Cem, Jag's little sister, was portrayed, and the twists that her characer brought. Title: Sword of the Jedi Author: Jaina_Solo_15 Timeframe: NJO Summary: Jaina's life after Destiny's Way, and how she deals with being the Sword of the Jedi, a Yuuzhan Vong goddess, and her relationship with Jag Fel. Your Review: Sword of the Jedi starts with one of Jaina's many missions, and while waiting for an attack she remembers her relationship with Jag Fel, and a simple mistake they made that might cost them their relationship. This mistake was very cleverly done, and somewhat funny. The story jumps forward several years, and as the war continues, Jaina finds solace in someone she loves while Leia reveals a very unexpected surprise. Title: Under My Skin Author: DarthIshtar Timeframe: post NJO Summary: When Jag breaks Jaina out of prison, they have to survive hellish conditions and deal with their relationship. Your Review: Jaina's trapped on in enemy territory, so General Darklighter sends Jag to get her out. They end up trapped without a ship, and have to get through a blizzard to get to a friendly outpost. Along the way, they have to deal with the troubles caused by Jaina's injuries and their relationship with each other. I enjoyed the story very much--the basic plot isn't one that's been overused, and the relationship twist is one that hasn't been dealt with much. DarthIshtar did a good job protraying Jaina's and Jag's history and Jaina's feelings about him. Though a short story, it is a very enjoyable read. Title: The Funeral Author: AERYN_SUN Summary: Jaina and her daughter are dead. How will Jag deal with it? Review: The story was well-written. It went back and forth between the events after Jaina’s funeral and the events leading up to it, which were told in Jag’s POV. The story handled Jag’s emotions at losing his fiancée and unborn daughter very well. The twist with the grief councilor whom I loved to hate was done very well, and there was a nice surprise cliffie at the end. Very well done! Title: I’d Miss You Still Author: AERYN_SUN Summary: The long awaited return of Jaina Solo and her daughter, Cherith Solo Fel, Jag's teenage daughter. After Jaina learns of Jag's brief affair with Celeste, she decides to start over with Jag but will she learn to love him again? Review: I liked the way this tied up the suspense at the end. It was very organized, and fun to read. I liked reading Jaina’s feelings as she came back to the living, with the help of her ‘guardian angel’. I loved the romance on Naboo, and I’m glad Kyp finally got the girl. Cherith Fel is very amusing, and I want to see where her relationship with Valin Horn is going. I especially liked the surprise Jaina found at the Lake Retreat. Title: Conduit Author: Trepidation Summary: Jaina is pregnant with Jag’s baby, and happy with her life. However, her actions on Hapes still haunt her, and it will take the help of a friend to get over it. Review: Jag was really only in the story at the beginning and the end, but it was obvious that he and Jaina were very much in love. Trep created a great OC in Sha, Jaina’s friend. The plot is interesting, and brings the meaning of family and love to heart. It was very well-written, though a bit drawn-out, but the conclusion was sweet and delightful. All-around a very well-written story. Title: Dark Diplomacy Author: Trepidation Timeframe: post-NJO AU Summary: An unknown Darkness is lurking. All of the post NJO crew is in the thick of it in this adventure teeming with action, romance and suspense. Review: Trepidation adds a very good depth to his characters that I’ve seldom seen. Whether they’re fighting for their lives or spending time together as a family, the details Trep gives enrich the story. The action is excellent, though I prefer the banter that comes from characters who obviously know each other very well. I must say that my favorite characters are Tahiri and Sha’s daughter Symerra and Jaina and Jag’s daughter Mindrea, who are absolutely adorable!! The addition of Cinya is great, and they should be an awesome trio in Triad, the sequel. The romance is very sweet as well. The ending is great, though I was a little panicked for a few moments. The story is a long, action- and emotion- packed read. You should start it on a day when you have lots of time, because once you start reading you won’t be able to stop. Title: The Sith Insurrection Author: JDH3 Timeframe: post-NJO AU Summary: Will the return of a hero bring jubilation, or herald the end of postwar peace...and the Galactic Alliance? Review: I can honestly say that The Sith Insurrection is one of my favorite fics ever. It has everything from action to drama to romance, and takes readers on a wild, crazy-fun ride. Jaina’s part in this is particularly agonizing, and I keep waiting eagerly for her issues to be resolved. Her relationship with Jag is in limbo and is hurting them both, and I keep hoping that everything between them will be resolved. Anakin’s arrival and Lumiya’s intervention keep tearing the two lovers apart, and I’m dying to know what happens. The cast list is huge, but I love the way the characters are written. I was especially glad to see the return of Anakin. His fall to the Dark Side and his apprenticeship to Lumiya is an interesting side of him that is rarely seen. The story‘s updates have been few and far between lately, but when JD posts it’s well worth the wait. Title: Without You, I’m Nothing Author: padawanlost Summary: Will Jaina and Jag realize how much they need each other when their lives are completely changed by the end of the war? Review: This is a fabulous story, and one of my favorites It starts right after the events of The Swarm War with Jag still on Tenupe and Jaina being taken back to the Jedi Academy on Ossus. Jaina develops new powers and, with the help of her parents, sets out to rescue Jag, who she realizes she can’t live without. Meanwhile, Jacen is learning new things of his own, and drag his cousin and apprentice, Ben, into a whirlwind of darkness. padawanlost might be new to the boards, but she sure can write! She uses a lot of good details and allows us into Jaina’s thoughts and feelings and gives us a deeper understanding of her. I also love the way she loves Wyn: brave and somewhat foolhardy. padawanlost’s debut J/J fic is an absolute must-read for everyone who has ever wondered what could have happened after the Dark Nest Trilogy. Title: Fear and Love Author: Earthknight Timeframe: post-NJO AU Summary Jacen, Jag, and Ben have a dilemma. All three men have something important that they want to tell the women that they love. But they are too afraid to. One night, the three men discuss their dilemmas in the city of Theed. But can Ben, Jacen, and Jag get the courage to tell the women what they want to tell them? Review: This was a very cute piece about Jacen and Jag trying to find the courage to propose to Tenel Ka and Jaina, while Ben was nervous about confessing his love to Tahiri. There was a lot of sweet mush and cute scenes with the couples. A very fun, happy read. Title: Play it, Sam Author: **** Timeframe: post-NJO Summary: After the Dark Nest trilogy, Jaina confesses her true feelings to Jag. Review: Though it’s just a short scene in a bar, “Play it Sam” is absolutely riveting. The detail is absolutely beautiful, and the story brings tears to my eyes. I can really picture that scene happening: Jag’s anger, Jaina’s regret. Kidan did a marvelous job of predicting their relationship in the Legacy series, but he did it with a flair than many canon authors don’t manage. It’s a sweet, sad vignette that with make you want a sequel. Title: Nothing Like the Moon Author: stickster Timeframe: post-NJO Summary: While on Csilla, Jag makes a pledge to Jaina and tells her a story. Review: “Nothing Like the Moon” is incredibly sweet. It’s got lovely, fluffy mush that will make any J/J lover melt. The interaction between Jaina and Jag is really beautiful; it’s not hard to tell that these two people love each other. It’s also got a little bit of humor – and I can totally sympathize with Jaina about hating the cold [face_tongue} The story that Jag makes up to tell to Jaina seems very real, and not unlike fairy tales and myths in real life. There were nice parallels to his life with Jaina – a pilot loving a goddess – with a nice mix of fantasy at the end. And, of course, it starts out the way the best stories do: A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away . . . “Nothing Like the Moon” is so sweet that you’ll want to read it again and again. Title: No One Author: Corellian_Cutie Summary: Jag's been stranded on Tenupe for two weeks and he's a bit delusional. Review: I read this vignette about a year ago, but it was just as delightful the second time around. Corellian_Cutie created a Jag very different from the books, but it was really nice to see his perspective after the battle of Tenupe. Jaina telling him that she was “no one” was very cute, and a nice tie-in with a great song. This is a very nice piece, and I’ll miss seeing [b[Corellian_Cutie[/b] and her stories around the boards. Title: I’m Already There Author: J_M_Bulldog Summary: Five years after the Vong war, Jaina and Jag are separated while he’s out on deployment. Review: This was so sweet!! Jaina and Jag’s conversation was lovely mush, and their daughter is a cute little kid. Jag’s surprise was delightful, and I love that Kyp helped out – that was my favorite part. Set following the Killik war, this AU tale suggests a plausible resolution to the personal conflicts that troubled Jaina and Jag throughout the Dark Nest Trilogy. SpikeLead’s basic premise is a very original idea that combines tension and romance with surprises and humor. She has created a warm slice of “Fel family life” for her audience that makes a lasting impression. Her writing vividly brings the characters’ to life, and offers a nice balance of visual descriptions so that the reader can easily imagine the story being played out before their eyes. Sunrise contains excellent canon depictions of Jaina and Jag in a rare interlude of peace and tranquility. Sunrise is a story that any J/J fan, and many others, will enjoy and remember. I know I certainly will. Title: The Family Album Author: BigFatty Review: BigFatty showcases her originality and creativity with this story’s unique concept. Through collaboration with her fellow artists she crafts an unusually visual narrative. The result is a smashing success. Readers are captivated by the storytelling of Family Album’s star, the eldest daughter of Jaina Solo and Jagged Fel. As she browses her family’s holo album, Nawra Fel reminisces about some of their most important moments and through her, we share their lives. It would be difficult—if not impossible—to read this story without feeling like Nawra’s trusted personal friend and confidant. Family Album is a fanfic jewel that should not be missed. The good news is, there is hope for many more stories, as long as there are new holos to inspire BigFatty. The bad news? The esteemed author needs more time to write! Title: The Shattered Galaxy Author: HyperionRising Start Date: September 9, 2007 Summary: After the Bakuran conflict, history has taken a different turn. The New Republic never came to be—nothing, and no one, are as they seem. Review: I was immediately captured by the original concept of this very entertaining story. Galactic history has been turned on its ear, yet there are constant echoes of familiar canon events. HyperionRising has done a terrific job of writing our favorite characters living different lives. Strangers and friends have changed, but some attractions are unavoidable. The Shattered Galaxy grabbed my attention from the very first post. It has mystery, drama, and humor. I highly recommend it. FelsGoddess's Reviews Title: Tonight I Wanna Cry Author: Angel4evaM Summary: Jaina and Jag experience some rough waters while planning their wedding. Notes: The song used for this fic is sung by Keith Urban titled “Tonight I Wanna Cry.” Review: This songfic does an excellent job of showing how stressful it is when couples try to please everyone planning a wedding. It’s a good representation of how the little things really do matter. I love how Jaina and Jag lived happily ever after. It’s a great representation of compromise. canadianjedimama's Reviews Title: Under My Skin, You Take Romance, and All Too Soon Author: DarthIshtar Notes: J/J trilogy Reviewer: canadianjedimama Review: This review I'd like to highlight a trilogy of J/J stories by DarthIshtar: Under My Skin, You Take Romance, All Too Soon. DarthIshtar is known for her intricate and epic stories. This one does not disappoint. Set two years post-NJO, it weaves a very authentic AU story of how Jag and Jaina were seperated and reunited. Jag's uniquely "pilot" way of proposing will make you smile. But the fireworks don't stop there. Their road together is just as bumpy after the wedding as before with a good dose of angst and heartbreak to help pave the way. This story will surprise you. It will make you smile, laugh, cry and shout "What the hell?" at the computer screen. And despite the twisted road, it ends up exactly where you wanted it to go in the end. Do yourself a favour and read this older but still golden J/J Index Classic. Title: Heritage Author: aurrasingrules101 Timeframe: AU Summary: What did Ep3 fail to show us? What is the true story about what happened in that delivery room, and what repercussions came from it? Luke and Leia have lived virtually their whole lives with minimal knowledge of their heritage, but a new threat to the galaxy that could shatter Luke's most ingrained beliefs in the Force could also flesh out an even deeper secret about their past. Review aurrasingrules101. It includes not only Jag/Jaina, but also Han/Leia, Luke/Mara and, most welcome of all, Padme. Aurra's Baci are a very credible bunch of villians, led by the dark Cale Wilos. Although the Baci storyline gets quite dark at times, it does nothing but add to the overall story. This author gives us wonderful, realistic interactions between the married Luke and Mara that we can only guess at in the EU. Also the fledgling relationship between Jag and Jaina sparks brightly before finally flaring into the brillant fire we're used to. And it's not just romance. The space and ground battles are wonderfully done. Intensely descriptive, they easily evoke movie-quality images in the reader's minds eye. When you start this, be prepared for a marathon read to finish... it's just that good. Jag4Me’s Reviews Title:Jagged Fel Strikes Back Author: THE_PIED_PIPER Timeframe: LOTF: Fury This story takes place between chapters nine and twelve of Aaron Allston's novel, Fury Summary: This fun story opens in Corellia where the Alema strike team has arrived to meet with a contact. The banter between Jag, Jaina, and Zekk, is witty and true to their characters. We join them dressed to the 9's in dashing formal wear for the evening and it really sets the mood for the story. THE_PIED_PIPER does an exceptional job writing the character of Jag Fel. Most fans don't realize what a dark and wonderful sense of humor he has. It really shines through here! I certainly got a "kick" out of this Fury missing scene and I think you will too! Title: Hello, Goodbye Author: canadianjedimama Timeframe: LOTF, Missing scene between Fury and Revelation Summary: Kind of a missing mush scene between Fury and Revelation inspired by Jaina telling Jag she'd find him to say goodbye. No spoilers but a surprise guest star! Review: We don’t know exactly what happened between the novels, but I would like to think this is it! Zekk drops in on Jaina while she is packing to leave Endor in search of Boba Fett. He makes a half hearted attempt to come along with her but ends up giving her very good advice instead. Don’t worry because there isn’t a sad ending for Zekk in this ‘fic! Our favorite single name Jedi gets a new mission from a startling source. Take a few minutes and enjoy this delightfully mushy story! Title: Destiny’s Green Eyes Author: jadesabre75 Timeframe: 6 months after the ending of Invincible. Summary: Jag comes to Mon Cal to visit Jaina. Review: Jadesabre75 gives us this wonderful speculation of what happened six months after the Battle of Shedu Maad. While Jag has been mired with keeping the Moff Council in line and preserving peace, Jaina has been healing with her family on Mon Calamari. Jag arrives to find her relaxing on the beach watching the sunset. Did this time apart heal their relationship? Read this mushy one shot piece to find out! The prologue gives us a big twist, Padme did not die that night on Polis Massa! Her funeral was a performance well orchestrated to cover the fact that she has been secreted away with a new identity. Where is she and what is she doing? Like Aurrasingrules101, I am going to let you wonder about that for awhile. Chapter 1 kicks off with the 16 year old Solo twins are tumbling head first into galactic chaos. Leia has been kidnapped by a new race of invaders, the Baci. Cale, their ruthless leader, will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Aurrasingrules101 takes us through some very emotional circumstances so fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride!
