Hey, a few others in "Standort D"! Hi Indra and Alethia!

I'm going to college in Hamburg, though I grew up in good old Spokane, Washington, just a couple miles from the Idaho border. And I have been deeply infected with your typical German regional patriotism. *points at embarassingly hamburgisch signature* Yup, Hamburg is über-cool, with an actual Ü!

In answer to several questions: I live in Glendora, in a pink house that was built in 1915. Glendora is a fun little town -- the "main street" area looks as if it was frozen in about 1963 (which is why film companies love us). I was born in Claremont, though. happy

Guess I must be the token Scot then (along with my sis). happy

I'm in beautiful Edinburgh, capital city of Scotland.

Our main street has a castle and gardens on one side of it, and the city is just bursting with history. We're also well known for our Festivals and New Year's celebrations. We have an extinct volcano, we're next to the sea and it only takes a couple of hours to drive up to the highlands of Scotland. cool

I'm one of the lucky people who can call Edinburgh home. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. love

grin I've spent a lot of time in Colorado. I love it. Leadville (a bit higher up than Denver tongue ) is one of my favorite places on the planet (well it's in the top five with New Orleans and Montreal).

Yep, I'm in North Florida, though. It was a little windy when Wilma passed by, but nothing more.

raisedbywolves, that's something that always slightly annoys me, when someone's saying 'über' in English and doesn't really use ü. But I think we can forgive them, as they don't have it on their keyboards. tongue

Patriotism? Where's that place? tongue Honestly, I'm not patriotic at all, but then, I don't live in a cool place like Hamburg. grin

Me, patriotic? I'm not German and want to get out of here asap, so, defibitely not.

But yes, spelling über wrong in English gets a bit annoying. I have to admit that the German keyboard has its advantages.,,

Yeah, Colorado's a great place! I love living here, even when it can be raining, snowing, sunny and windy all in the same day. tongue And Leadville's a pretty cool place too, if I just want to get away from suburbia.

Amen! Call me a nerd or a dork or whatever, but seriously, that's why I love this place so much.

*waves a flag of nerdiness* Same here - I don't know what I'd do without it. Although...I did work with a bunch of nerds in camp this summer. Half of them anyway. We used to belt out Star Wars songs day and night, though we constantly forgot Across the Stars, and had to ask one of our friends. People tended to avoid us.

I reiterate. It is worse. I've just got news that the Revenge of the Sith DVD probably won't be released around here!

That's awful! I'm so happy my mom is letting me go to the store to get it after school on Tuesday. And by the way, my grandfather was from Romania. Lived right next door to Eli Weasel.

Nowadays, when I see the word "Houston" written somewhere, I'm usually thinking of the street name in Manhattan, which is pronounced "Howston."

Ha! I used to do that all the time up until 2 years ago until my mom corrected me. And then I got very confused when it came to the abbreviation of North in front of it. Always wondered why it kept telling me there was no Houston.
