Threepio is given a mysterious silver leg after losing his in a vacuum cleaner accident. The mysterious silver leg causes him to go on a murderous rampage, and he soon takes on the persona of another being...one called HAL.

Who's Afraid of Yarael Poof?
Few people knew that Yarael kept a private apartment in the city where he went to drink. He was a fiend for the Correllian Ale. Also residing in the apartment was Yarael's secret wife. The news came to light shortly before the Jedi were made enemies of the state. It is said that there are eyewitness account of the two arguing rather violently about the Jedi attachment policy.

It was in this volume that Queen Mother Allana tried to introduce new policy regarding the equality of men. Her efforts, praised by The Alliance, caused an insurrection and civil war. The noble queen was publically executed.
