Welcome to the first version of the Crystal Reef Palace Auditorium – the only encompassing index and resource thread dedicated to bringing you the entire collection of Jacen/Tenel Ka fan fiction available on the JC. You’ll find writing from both YJK and NJO and, in some cases, other eras. While all fiction containing Jacen Solo and Tenel Ka Chume Ta’ Djo is linked within this index, that doesn’t mean the two characters are romantically involved in every story.

If you discover CRPA is missing a story, we welcome you to PM us with the information. Also, if you have any ideas or suggestions to improve CRPA, we would love to hear from you. We encourage participation from writers and readers alike! You’re doing us a favour!

Please note that CRPA is not just an index. You’re also welcome to discuss anything J/TK related (we recommend you read the current discussion topic first) or ask any questions. To Submit A Story:
Before you submit a story, please read the following guidelines:

• Jacen and Tenel Ka MUST be in your story. We do not accept purely Jacen stories or purely Tenel Ka stories.
• It is NOT necessary for Jacen and Tenel Ka to be the central characters. However, they must be reoccurring characters (meaning they should appear more than once or twice).
• Jacen and Tenel Ka do NOT need to be in a romantic relationship. For example, they can be friends or one of them can be involved with another character.
• We accept vignettes to long epics. There’s no limit.
• We accept Jacen and Tenel Ka fics from any era.
• You CAN submit someone else’s story. Unless you manage to contact the author, you will have to write the index entry for them.
• The story MUST be on the JC. CRPA does not archive off-site links. If you uncover a good J/TK off-JC story, you could suggest to the author that they create an account here.

To submit, complete the following form and send it via PM (use the subject title “Story Submission”) to the index sock. If you want a comprehensive and accurate entry, please make an effort to answer the entire form. Please be aware that you can write anything in the “Notes” section. It’s an open playground.

If, once you submit your entry and the sock hasn’t sent you a submission confirmation, you discover you’ve made an error with your entry, you may send another PM titled “Story Submission v2”. That PM should have the correct information. If you have already received a confirmation PM and you want to fix your error, please refer to the next section.


Editing A Current Index Entry:
Unlike when you submit a story, you MUST be the author to edit a current index entry unless you’re notifying CRPA of a story’s completion or the author’s desertion. What do I mean by index entry? When your story is posted to the index, it has a profile that you or a friend/reader submitted. That profile is your index entry.

CRPA understands that authors need to be able to change their index entries if a significant development occurs in their story (for example, they might want to alter the status from “incomplete” to “complete” or add more notes). You do not need to provide a reason to change your index entry. There would be no place for CRPA without your stories.

To edit an entry, you must once again complete the form in the “To Submit A Story” section. This time, however, you need to title the PM “Index Entry Edit”. Please make sure you let us know that you’re altering a current index entry, not submitting a story.

If you’ve recently submitted an index entry edit and you decide you’ve made an error or would like to add more, then please send the form again and title the PM “Index Entry Edit v2”.

Tenel Ka Chume Ta’ Djo:
Warrior Queen of Hapes – Duty to the Crown and to Her People

The daughter of Isolder and Teneniel Djo, Tenel Ka was raised on Dathomir in the tradition of the other witches in Teneniel's clan. Tenel showed great aptitude with the Force, and later attended Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, at the same time as Jacen and Jaina Solo. She was a reserved, distant companion to the twins, in keeping with the strength she learned on Dathomir. When Luke discovered the connection between Lando Calrissian's lost corusca gems and the space station Borgo Prime, he took Tenel Ka with him to search out any leads on the Shadow Academy. Later, she posed with him on Dathomir as Force sensitives, and were transported to the Shadow Academy. There, they helped rescue Jaina and Jacen. Her Jedi training nearly came to an end when Luke Skywalker requested that the students at his praxeum built their own lightsabers, in preparation for battling the Shadow Academy. Tenel Ka felt that the weapon was no the important link, but the warrior was. She didn't focus all of her energies in her lightsaber, which she built from an old rancor tooth. In a practice duel with Jacen Solo, Tenel pushed herself and Jacen to their limits. Her lightsaber failed to maintain its energy beam, and Jacen's blade passed through it, severing Tenel Ka's left arm above the elbow. The wound was instantly cauterized, and replacing the hand was impossible. She travelled back to Hapes to recover from the incident, secretly wondering about her own abilities. She found herselve in the midst of Ambassador Yfra's treacherous plans. The series of ensuing battles forced Tenel Ka to realize that, although the warrior is very important, how the warrior maintains their touch on the Force is most important. Her injury was of minimal importance if she truly mastered the Force. She returned to Yavin 4, and built a new lightsaber. She kept to her original design of using a rancor tooth, but worked with the Force to create a weapon superior to the original. It used a rainbow gem from Gallinore, and produced a turquoise-colored blade. After becoming a full Jedi Knight, Tenel Ka and the rest of her friends were thrust into the struggle against the Yuuzhan Vong. She was one of the Jedi who were sent to Myrkr to destroy the voxyn queen, and one of just a handful to survive the mission. The Jedi team stole the Yuuzhan Vong frigate Ksstarr and took it to Hapes, where Tenel had to face the real possibility that her mother might die or be assassinated. The Hapan people were demanding stronger leadership, and feared that Teneniel Djo might lead them to ruin. Tenel Ka refused to take her mother's place, deciding that she wanted to remain a Jedi Knight. It was also during this period on Hapes when she declared - at least to herself - that she had loved Jacen Solo. When she discovered that her mother had been poisoned, Tenel Ka used what little political power she had to turn the Hapan fleet over to Colonel Jagged Fel, in the hopes that he could command them in battle against the Yuuzhan Vong. Tenel Ka then confronted her grandmother, announcing that she would take her mother's place as Queen. Note that Tenel Ka has been named several times as Kenel Ka or Tenel Ta throughout the Young Jedi Knights books. (HTF, SA, L, DK, JUS, SBS, DJ)

Jacen Solo:
Jedi Hero – Torn between two galaxies

Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo's first son, Jacen was born five minutes after his sister, Jaina. The twins were born on Coruscant some five years after the Battle of Endor, in the midst of Grand Admiral Thrawn's attempt to take control of the galaxy. He was very strong with the Force, and had the special ability to communicate with animals. When he and his sister turned 14, they were allowed to attend Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy on Yavin 4. While there, Jacen developed an extensive collection of the jungle moon's exotic fauna, many of which escaped the cages built for them by Jaina. When he finally constructed his own lightsaber, Jacen chose focusing stones which produced a glowing, emerald green blade. He later trained directly with Luke himself, as Luke began moving the new Jedi Knights back to the pre-Empire style of teaching. Luke also trained Jacen's brother, Anakin, although both brothers had different ideas on what the future of the Jedi should be. Jacen agreed with Luke, that the formation of a new Jedi Council would help bring the vigilantes under control. Jacen also believed more in the spiritual aspects of the Force, while Anakin held to the physical uses of the Force.They fought often, verbally and with lightsabers, both claiming their intense sessions were simply training. He traveled with his younger brother, Anakin, to Centerpoint Station, just before the Battle of Fondor, but urged Anakin not to use the Force to fire it. When Thrackan Sal-Solo fired it instead, and nearly destroyed the combined Republic and Hapan fleets, Jacen felt himself lost in his struggle to understand the Force. After having an intense vision of the galaxy, teetering on a single balance point that he alone controlled, Jacen tried to stop using the Force altogether. His family tried to bring him out of this mental state, but Jacen doggedly refused. However, when his mother was threated by the Yuuzhan Vong on Duro, Jacen realized that he had reached the balance point in his vision. Drawing on the Force, he managed to escape with his mother and get her to safety. During the escape, Jacen badly injured the Yuuzhan Vong Warmaster, Tsavong Lah, earning him a position of hatred among the alien invaders. When the Yuuzhan Vong learned that Jacen and Jaina were twins - an event which was rare in Yuuzhan Vong births, and indicated an omen from the gods - both siblings were targeted for capture and eventual sacrifice. Shortly afterward, Jacen and his siblings joined the Jedi strike team which was sent ot Myrkr to locate and destroy the voxyn queen. When Anakin was killed aboard the Baanu Rass, Jacen found that his sister blamed him for Anakin's death, despite the fact that Anakin gave specific orders to reach the queen. Eventually, the Jedi were able to defeat the voxyn queen, but Jacen was captured when Vergere betrayed him to the Yuuzhan Vong. Despite her changing allegiance, Vergere provided Jacen with several of her healing "tears," to help prepare him for the torture he was about to receive after his capture. The rest of the strike team fled, vowing to rescue Jacen at the soonest possible moment. However, once in the Hapes Cluster aboard the Trickster, Jaina and the others received a wave of anguish through the Force that seemed to indicate Jacen's death. Jacen, however, had been taken aboard a Yuuzhan Vong seedship and secured in a modified Embrace of Pain by Vergere, as part of something known as the Solo Project. Vergere and Nom Anor hoped to turn him to the Yuuzhan Vong's True Way, and he was held in the Embrace of Pain for many months. Vergere, in an effort to eliminate his reliance on the Force, took away his link to the Force and forced him to recognize other ways of tapping into its energy. This was the "death" Jaina and other Jedi felt. Jacen began to understand the pain could eventually be overcome and used to his advantage, and that the Force was not simply black and white. Vergere's lessons taught him that the Yuuzhan Vong existed in another facet of the Force's energy, and that there were more grey areas than Jacen had ever believed possible. Upon his release from the Embrace of Pain, Jacen discovered he was aboard a seedship, where he was bound as a slave to an immature dhuryam. Jacen developed a relationship with the future World Brain, and eventually discovered that he could tap resources within the Force that he never knew existed. When the tizo'pil Yun'tchilat occurred, Jacen chose his time to strike at his captors. Never truly turned to the True Way, Jacen tried to destroy the World Brains before one could be inserted into Coruscant's new environment. Vergere interferred, playing on his emotions to stop Jacen from killing the dhuryam which had become his "friend". Jacen awoke to find himself on Coruscant, now renamed Yuuzhan'tar in honor of the original Yuuzhan Vong homeworld, along with Vergere. They were hunted by the warriors assigned to Master Shaper Ch'Gang Hool, and forced to accept the Ture Way. He then put into motion his next plant, tocapture Ganner Rhysode. Ganner had been searching for Jacen, who lured him into the chamber of a camp ship and captured him. Once on Coruscant, Jacen subtly explained that he was worked with the Yuuzhan Vong in order to gain their confidence. Them he planned to use the World Brain to act as his agent on Coruscant. Ganner gave his life to keep Jacen alive long enough to gain access to the World Brain, which had been the dhuyram he befriended. Jacen asked the World Brain to help him monitor the situation on Coruscant, then he fled the planet with Vergere. Jacen later returned to Master Skywalker, who accepted his return and allowed him to return to work with the Jedi Knights. He tried to listen to Vergere's words and advice on the nature of his destiny within the Force, but when his sister Jaina was in danger during the Battle of Ebaq, Jacen blindly raced to her rescue. He was trapped by Yuuzhan Vong in the mines of Ebaq 9, and only Vergere's sacrifice allowed him to survive. He eventually reached Jaina, where they were attacked by Tsavong Lah. Jaina managed to defeat the Warmaster in combat, and the twins were rescued by New Republic forces. Jacen then commited himself to reconciling the Yuuzhan Vong with his definition of the Force, and vowed to honor Vergere's memory by working to fulfill his destiny. As part of this personal mission, Jacen agreed to accompany his Uncle Luke and Aunt Mara on a mission into the Unknown Regions, in a search for the planet Zonama Sekot. He had learned of the planet from Vergere, and hoped that his connection to her would help their cause. Upon finding the planet in the Klasse Ephemora System, Sekot initially refused to help them. In a series of devious tests, the living part of the planet separated Jacen from Luke and tried to learn their true motives for coming to Zonama Sekot. Eventually, both Luke and Jacen convinced the planet they were seeking a peaceful end to the conflict with the Yuuzhan Vong. Sekot then agreed to accompany them back to the galaxy, in an effort to find a way to end the war. Upon reverting to realspace near Coruscant, Jacen found himself once again in the company of his family. Han, Leia, and Jaina had been dispatched to meet them, and the family was briefly reunited before returning to the war. Jacen and his sister accompanied their uncle Luke to the surface of Coruscant, in an effort to gain access to the Citadel and bring Supreme Overlord Shimrra to justice. Jacen was able to reach the mind of the World Brain which was controlling the planet, and was able to calm it down and put a stop to the destruction it was causing on the surface. Upon entering Shimrra's throneroom, they were beset by a group of fifteen Slayers, and only Jacen's link to the World Brain allowed them any measure of success. When Jaina set out to capture Onimi, Jacen found himself facing the remaining Slayers, who had abandoned Luke so that Shimrra himself could destroy the Jedi Master. After Shimrra's defeat, Jacen left Luke in Mara's capable hands and set out to locate his sister, only to be assailed by Onimi. Jacen suddenly realized that Onimi was perhaps the most powerful of all Yuuzhan Vong, since he had managed to tap into the Force in a way that no other individual could. His own Shaping had somehow reconnected him to the Force, and gave him powerful abilities as a Shaper and as a fighter. Jacen was forced to fend off all manner of projectiles, then had to find a way to neutralize the poisons that Onimi created to kill him. Drawing on the power of the Force, Jacen understood that only a complete surrender to its energy would save. In this state, Jacen was able to fight off whatever Onimi threw at him, realizing that he had finally found the truth about the Force and the way in which a Jedi should connect to it. He became simply a living conduit for the power of the Force, embracing neither good nor evil but simply existing within it. In this manner, Jacen was able to eradicate the evil and greed within Onimi, killing the Shamed One in the process. With the Yuuzhan Vong surrender at Coruscant, the war was ended and the Galactic Alliance set out to restore as much of it as possible. Jacen decided to set out in search of other Force users - such as the Jensaarai, the Sunesi, and the Fallanassi - to deepen his already vast knowledge of the Unifying Force. Tenel Ka and Jacen go slumming on Tatooine and get into a few barfights at the old Cantina.

Interesting premise, but kind of odd. I can't easily see these two doing this. The grammar is also not the best. Still, it is kind of neat seeing them in an alien environment.

As always, Tenel Ka kicks the villain the way she is expected to. Overall, the story is hilarious and it is good to see the good couple win.

An incredibly complex and epic AU from Dark Force Rising. Luke dies against Joruus and Leia goes Dark Side, killing the Senate and taking over. But that's not a tenth of it.

Wonderfully written with beautiful dialogue, but can be a bit overwhelming at times. The OCs are awesome, but introduced almost at random. Jacen and Tenel Ka are todlers, but you see the spark there. An awesome story.

I want to get readers thinking. Overall, I’m proud of myself for producing this piece. It has been around a year since I’ve written anything and I’ve never written Tenel Ka. I like the way Tenel Ka gets philosophical without going out of character. Of all the Jacen/Tenel Ka fics out there, this is one of the few where the characterization is logical. It's very interesting that she sees her mother through the Force but has a hard time admitting that Jacen is alive. Like the way both Jacen and Tenel Ka change but still click together as a couple, but then again, I can't name a time that I didn't enjoy nice Jacen/Tenel Ka stuff.

In AvenKiel’s short story, which takes place two weeks after the termination of the New Jedi Order Series, Jacen Solo attends a celebration ceremony where he meets and talks to Queen Mother Tenel Ka. The two old friends meet again a day later in Tenel Ka’s chambers and have a touching discussion there.

The author describes the emotion and thoughts of both characters beautifully throughout “Jacen’s Return,” while simultaneously managing to create transparisteel clear imagery. AvenKiel’s use of sophisticated vocabulary provokes pictures in the reader’s mind and makes her story smooth and flowing.

Observe how the author describes Tenel Ka’s voice. Her smooth, rich voice, tinted with her Dathomiri accent, washed over Jacen like a kiss of the wind, soothing his ears.

The characterization fits perfectly too, which is shown in the following passage: "Queen Mother, it's a pleasure to see you again." Jacen took Tenel Ka's hand in his own and brought it to his mouth for a brief kiss, his velvety smooth, brown eyes connecting squarely with her's. Tenel Ka remained straight and stiff backed, keeping in line with the stature of her position, not daring to let her true reaction to his warm kiss on her hand show. She felt Jacen probe the outer edges of her mind and felt his retreat as he found the solid wall blocking him.

Doesn’t that send shivers up one’s back in its beautiful tension?

Tenel Ka referred to her companion as, “Friend Jacen,” throughout the story. Hearing this phrase again is comforting to the reader, showing that after the many years that have passed in the story, not so much has changed after all.

Overall, “Jacen’s Return,” was very enjoyable, well written, and worth the read. Readers will find pleasure in AvenKiel’s gentle romance.

With the exception of the occasional typo, this story is extremely well-written. Avenkiel does a good job with characterization and manages to make Tenel Ka smile often without agitating readers. Avenkiel demonstrates an admirable amount of knowledge in genetics in giving baby Rowan his eye color.

Well, well, Tenel Ka delivers a beautiful baby boy with a name that closely resembles the names of many legends.

In the story, Jacen showed his sappy side, as evidenced by this quote:

"Alright Tenel Ka, you can do this, one more push Honey! On three, ready? One, Two, Three!!"

While there is no guarantee, the probability is high that readers will enjoy reading about Babysitter Jacen's scenes.

C3P0_R2D2 successfully accomplishes the main goal of her story -- to entertain the reader with a hilarious tale of how these young Jedi trainees fare at preschool. At five years of age, the childhood of every character is very well depicted.

Although this story still remains to be completed, it has been very entertaining so far and the author has proven her abilities to write Jacen and Tenel Ka as kids with a humorous touch.

With a start, Tenel Ka snapped out of her training reverie by Jacen’s crying. She quickly walked over, ducking down to his level. “What happened?” She queried quietly.

Jacen pointed at Rantho. “I…I… f-found an an-animal, a-and he kn-knocked it ou-out of my ha-hand!”

Tenel Ka stood up and glared at Rantho. “That wasn’t a good idea. You made my friend Jacen cry.”

Rantho’s eyes widened. He didn’t know the scruffy boy and the red-haired girl were friends. This didn’t bode well for him, and he knew it.

I read it on fanfiction.net some time ago and noticed that it's listed in this index as well. I don't know if there's any differences between the one posted here and on the other site, but after all this time, I still remember this story, so it definitely deserves reviewing. The way Jaina pulled that prank on TK just sent me ROFL. That part about Tenel Ka finding this mega heap of see-through clothing was totally hilarious, and the way Jacen pulled off the kidnapping is a masterpiece. This is one rare story where Tenel Ka is on 'Yuuzhan'tar'.

The way the tough, stone-cold Tenel Ka makes exceptions for Jacen is capable of melting most hearts. This author, unlike most others, brought in the guest room from Lightsabers, which was mentioned only once or twice but obviously remembered.

Memorable line:

Jacen woke up three hours later to his guards strapping him into the “Embrace of Pain”. The living machine was meant to torture him and cause him much physical pain. But the real pain was in his heart, knowing that Tenel Ka was alone, and missing him deeply.

In Finding Your Way, Lady_Jedi_Carenix begins by weaving a memorable story of how Jedi Knight Jacen Solo finally manages to meet Queen Mother Tenel Ka Chume Ta’ Djo once again, after many failed attempts.

Although this story is currently still in progress, the author has already proved her ability to write characters such as Tenel Ka, Jacen, and Zekk completely in character, as well as her ability to create life-like original characters.

Throughout this story, the author creates beautiful description and evokes powerful emotions in the reader with her excellent writing. To add even more quality to her addictive story of adventure and romance, Lady_Jedi_Carenix often throws in humorous and entertaining lines. Here is a taste of her story.

“You don’t have to be a mind reader to know that’s what super-responsible-I-must-spend-my-life-saving-the-universe-and-never-have-a-girlfriend-super-Jedi Jacen Solo is thinking,” Zekk said, making a point of emphasizing his words.


“You! What—how dare you?!” Zekk cried in mock outrage.

“Stop stealing my happy pills!” Jacen shot back.

“Stop stealing my angst pills!” Zekk cried.

The two Jedi suddenly realized that the conversations around them had stopped. Jacen and Zekk looked around and waved at anyone who was actually openly looking at them. Conversations started up again as the people were too embarrassed to keep watching the Jedi.


Zekk shrugged casually and began walking away. “What I mean is—if you don’t go to Hapes after the negotiations have wrapped up tomorrow, I am going to call Tenel Ka and tell her you love her.” Zekk looked over his shoulder. “I’d almost give anything to be a buzz fly on the wall when you get summoned to Hapes to explain.”

It lands on her forehead, rolling to the side of her face and trailing down her jawline. Dried blood and tears' cleansing reveal the water's trail. Her forehead's gash healed up awhile back, and now she stands, staring blankly at the cavern ceiling.

The author uses vivid description that can easily transform into a beautiful piece of coverart in the first line, which most writers cannot achieve.

Her characterization of Tenel Ka's strong personality is vivid and outstanding, as evidenced by her short, powerful dives into the warrior queen's head. In her story, Jacen plays the prince and the hero, living up to one of the nicknames given to him on the CRPA banner.

This is a rare Jacen/Tenel Ka story where Tenel Ka is a good villainess. In the story, Teneniel never miscarried. Instead, she died giving birth to her second child, a daughter named Augwynne. Meanwhile, Tenel Ka found herself pregnant with Jacen's illegitimate child and taking advice from her Hapan father, the Queen Mother hid her child on Dathomir.

Fifteen years later, Galler, Tenel Ka's daughter, completed her basic Jedi training and impatient to leave the desert world, took the Rock Dragon and headed for Hapes to contend for the Hapan crown. Augwynne, the jealous aunt, decided to publicly humiliate Galler in order to keep her position as Chume Ta, or heir.

Jacen, who was returning home from a mission, dropped by Hapes around the same time as Galler and learned of his long lost daughter's existence after fifteen years.

When the summary was given, most readers would expect pages upon pages of action and political intrigue, but PunkRockRebel surprised many by drawing the transformations and troubles of an innocent, teenage girl. She moved many readers with the numerous injustices that her main character, Galler faced.

What this reviewer enjoyed most about this story was the contrast that the author very effectively showed with each Young Jedi Knights character that also appeared in the New Jedi Order Series. By having the younger character encounter the older version of him or herself, RK_Striker_JK_5 displays how drastically every character has changed.

Future Jacen smiled. "You will need to know how to fight the Yuuzhan Vong, and to do that, there are certain things you must know. The first is: there is no Dark Side."

Jacen's eyes grew to the size of saucers. "No Dark Side? What type of spice did you get into?"

Ah, yes. On top of great description and vocabulary, the author even has humor. “This is I?” was a very enjoyable read.

Many authors write entire stories about their original characters, but few can convince readers to adore those characters, and this author is one of them.

Lorraine is an ordinary girl who was forced to transform herself after her parents' deaths. One can easily sympathize with the her reactions to the conditions of her orphanage and the unfair treatment that she recieved, which inspired her to escape into the streets. Striker does a wonderful job of showing Lorraine's transformation from an average schoolgirl to an orphan to, ultimately, a friend of Jacen and Tenel Ka.

Daniel, another one of Striker's characters, went through a similar series of changes in his life, for he lost his father and was also forced into the life that most would not take, only that he took up smugglings and transporting.

Jon, the third character, is a computer geek with a hardened life. He started out as a boy working for a man named Troyus, who was a bit of a villain from the company NovaComm. After some adventurous twists and turns, Jon found himself partnered with two people named Deq and Jecsa in a bit of a transport/smuggling service. He came close to being locked behind bars for life, but chance led him to Lorraine and ultimately to Jacen and TK.

Memorable line: Chop, chop, so I can slice.

Title: Where No Jedi Has Gone Before

“Priceless” is an amazing and unique one-poster, certain to entertain fans of Jacen and Tenel Ka. The story has a brilliant title, classic humor and beautiful characterization.

As Tenel Ka’s Jedi bodyguard, Jacen is forbidden to touch her at all. Readers can easily imagine just how hard this is for Jacen, with help from the author’s effective description.
Being around Tenel Ka all hours of the day, morning, afternoon, night. Watching her work, watching her sleep, watching her live, keeping an eye on her every movement --- and not touching her?

No tap on the shoulder? No hug goodnight? No nothing?


On top of this, Jacen has the wisdom to bet his friend Gadell that he will not touch Tenel Ka all week, thus making everything even more difficult for him.
That week was hilarious. Tenel Ka did a beautiful job -- I know it was torture for her too though. I could tell as I watched them around each other.

I would see her reach out to hand him something, or pass him something and she would make sure her hand got as close to him as possible. It was moments like those when Jacen would get those big, sad eyes of his.

I'll give the man credit; he was trying to be cool about it. But he's a good friend of mine, as well as Tenel Ka's obviously, we know him. And we know it was stabbing him in the foot everytime she got close.

(Which was PRICELESS, I might add.)


Readers will thoroughly enjoy this one. Laughs guaranteed.

Jacen's character is captured beautifully in this poem and his feelings for Tenel Ka are boldly but very nicely highlighted. It is very unfortunate that Jacen met his fate the way he did. It is impossible to quote this, since almost every line sandwiched between 'and the chrono kept ticking' would have to be copied. However, this poem contains some detracting typos.

Interesting premise, but kind of odd. I can't easily see these two doing this. The grammar is also not the best. Still, it is kind of neat seeing them in an alien environment.

A member of the Rifle Worlds declares independence and secedes from the Hapes Consortium, forming a blockade around the system’s borders with a collection of pirate ships. Tenel Ka, suspecting this uprising does not represent the true voice of the people, sends her fleet of Battle Dragons to engage the traitors. Upon realising Jacen’s involvement, she is forced to choose between bombarding the military base on the planet’s moon or sacrificing this planet for her heart.

The word phantasmagoria must be incorporated in your story.
You are also required to include the name Solaria in some context (i.e. it can be a person, a ship, a fic title, a planet).


May 2005:
Murder in the Garden

Due to acts of terrorism against the current Queen Mother, Ta'a Chume was expelled from the Hapan Consortium two months before. There is a rumour that Ta'a Chume fled to a secular, xenophobic planet bordering Hapan space. For those months, Ta'a Chume's memory lays unseen and out of the way until, one day, her corpse is found hanging from a flag pole within the grounds of the royal palace in Hapes' capital. The words on everyone's lips: who killed the despicable one?

When it comes time for Tenel Ka to chose her consort, Jacen Solo inexplicably finds himself caught in Hapan politics and in the midst of young noblemen vying for Tenel Ka’s hand. With no choice but to continue on, thanks to Ta’a Chume’s posturing, he has to continue to try to win Tenel Ka’s hand.

Masks and Daggers

Masquerade Day(the GFFA equivalent of Halloween) has arrived again, as has the Hapans' annual Masquerade Ball. This year, Tenel Ka is to introduce Jacen the man she wishes to marry at the ball, but a faction within her court has decided to prevent this with an attempt on Jacen's life during the festivities.

Shipwrecked

While they are in little danger, the issue of Jacen's relationship(your choice as to who he was with) while they were apart after they left the Academy weighs on both of their minds. Can they work out this thorn, or will the past ruin the unintended vacation - and perhaps more?

1. Please tell us a bit about yourself. How did you get into Star Wars?

I’m not quite certain if there’s any single factor, but it all started a few years back, when I was in junior high. I watched Phantom Menace on Fox one night at least five years ago and I’m not certain as to the exact sequence of events after that, but here goes. I watched Attack of the Clones soon after it came out, read my friends’ Star Wars fanfiction, and found the YJK and NJO books at the library. Some of this might have been before Attack of the Clones came out, since I remember being forced to read NJO in order and waiting for Star by Star. By the time I got through the first few books, I was a serious Star Wars fan. After a couple of years, I probably Attack of the Clones and read Traitor enough times to know both of these verbatim.

2. Why do you find the couple of Jacen and Tenel Ka so appealing?

They just seemed to click in YJK and I was attached to each character individually. I could see myself as Tenel Ka and some of the boys around me as Jacen. Like Tenel Ka, I was an extremely reserved, only grandchild, counting from the father’s side of the family. Plus, we both experienced life in two completely different cultures and my father’s side of the family’s just like hers. As for Jacen, he reminded me of several of the boys around me, particularly one really good friend, and the facet of me that has always refused to mature.

When NJO came around, I saw Jacen as my philosophical side, since as much as I like villains, I do not enjoy conflict.

I probably connect with this Star Wars couple more than any other.

3. Some of your fics deal with Allana, their daughter. How do you usually write her, considering her only appearance is that of a newborn?

I usually prefer to write her as a dark queen or princess who left the Jedi Order, but I could do Allana the Jedi Knight if the story calls for it and as for the physical description, I almost always let her take Isolder’s looks and the Solo/Naberrie/Skywalker woman’s small frame. I have as much leeway as I would with an OC because of the lack of canon appearances and visions of the future. Unlike the case with Ben and many other canon characters, I feel no need to realize any visions or match any descriptions, save the ones that come with my fic-related fanart.

4. If you had to choose, would you rather only write Jacen or Tenel Ka?

I hope I never have to choose, then! I could connect with both characters equally, but I would write Tenel Ka because she’s the more underwritten of the two; Jacen’s had a major role in every book since YJK and at least fifty percent of the Beyond the Saga fanfics while all Tenel Ka had beyond YJK were a few cameos here and there. I also adore both the Hapan and Dathomiri cultures to the point of scouring every book that I could get my hands on, piecing together a family tree, and keeping it up-to-date as the books came out. If I don’t have enough of Tenel Ka, and I never could, I’d just write more of her.

(Note: I might be exaggerating about the fanfic rosters.)

5. What do you feel your strengths are as a writer?

I’d say either action or dark angst because that’s what I write the most. I cannot get through a fic for any universe without devoting five paragraphs to character anguish for every line of dialogue and lightsaber duels just come to me. I find dark dabblings extremely enjoyable, but I can go light as well.

6. Most of your fics are vignettes. Why is that?

Vignettes and one-shots almost always come to me more easily than epics and I tend to envision stories by the moment instead of by the big picture or the plot most of the time. I’d see into a character’s head for a few brief seconds and that’s where I’d get most of the material for these vigs. Vignettes also tend to provide me with the best opportunities to delve as deeply as I could into one or two characters. I do have longer stories, though.

I suppose that another reason for the vignette population is that I haven’t posted most of my longer stories. Often times, I want to make sure that I have at least twenty or thirty pages of a story before I start posting, since there’s no telling when I’ll be able to write once school starts and I don’t want to make the readers wait.
