I definitely wish to see the animated movie. It looks intriguing. I have not yet written anything in the Clone War timeframe. That isn't to say it won't happen, but the muse just hasn't struck yet.

I will probably take in the new movie at some point. As for the discussion question, my writing about that time frame is not out of the realm of possibility, but as I am much more of an OT person, it would be missing my favorite characters. Therefore, not as likely, but certainly possible.

I'll probably see the movie. I'm not big on the Clone wars. I think the Star Wars movies (and even more so the books) has too much war in it anyway - and yes I know that doesn't make sense. But there you are.

I'm with you, Diane. Just because it's called Star WARS, does every novel series, every cartoon, every tv show & movie, have to be about war? They went for a thousand generations with peace, and now there's a new war every few years.
I'd like to see the movie, but I have trouble dragging my husband to anything that says 'animated.' I wish I had some of you guys close by to go to things like this with me.
And I rather doubt that I do any fanfiction in the Clone Wars era. I'm just not that interested in it, and I can't even get my current fanfic finished.
Good to see you back, Jade_Pilot. Hope all went well with your surgery, and you are recovering nicely.

It was on her fifteenth day in the darkness of the Nirauan cave when Mara Jade awoke to discover a rescuer had finally arrived. It was not, however, any of the potential rescuers she would have expected. It was Luke. ~~And the rest is history~~

I will certainly go to see the movie. With my FF if possible. (That being the FanForce for a change...). It is the first thing SW on screen that has my interest since - oh the OT I'd say. Not expecting much out of it story-wise, it's all just entertainment. I can be easy to entertain. It has clones.
Of course, I'll write in that era, have already started. After reading the RC books, I became a sucker for clones. What's nice about them is that there's so many. YOu can always find on that fits your story and you don't have to clash with canon, because with 3,000,000+ clones, who can say it didn't happen.
I did start a piece a while back but that will need some more time ripening. I have difficulties with the middle, as usual.

I can't say I have zero interest in seeing the new movie, but it's close. I, too, am not a big fan of the prequel era. I haven't written anything set before the OT. I'm not a big fan of war either. But, unfortunately, war sells. And as I have discovered in the past year, Star Wars + War + Marketing = $$$$$$ And I'm no longer among those that say they will see it just because it says Star Wars. As I also have discovered in the past year, having the Star Wars name on a product does not equal quality.
I will say that of all the SW characters I have written, there is one I would be excited to write. Obi Wan. Any plot bunnies related to him have yet to visit me, however.
By the way, thought of a Star Wars equivalent of an Earth issue: Imagine Luke in the hangar doing maintenance on his X-Wing and his eyes pop. "Five credits a liter for Tibana gas?!!"

I'll probably rent the Clone Wars movie myself, I don't know anyone who will be nearby when it comes out (meaning west of the Mississippi) who would be interested in going to see it with me in the theater. I have to be really excited for a movie to go see it alone in the theater, and this one just isn't on that list.
As for writing in this era, I would if a plot bunny would attack me already. I just can't seem to get any inspiration for stories that would have to involve Anakin in some way, I guess he just annoys me too much. I do enjoy reading stories in this era, though, and several authors have managed to make Anakin tolerable, somehow! But any story I wrote would necessarily have to be heavily Obi-centric anyway.

I take back what I said in my last post... I did write a little viggie in the Clone War era as a result of one "Minor League Challenge". I'd forgotten about it.

I write stories in the Clone wars area but they are more about how the Jedi are responding to this. My characters don't want to be in a war at all.
And for seeing the animated movie. Will this come to Europe or do I have to wait for the DVD?

My 13 year old definitely wants to see the Clone movie. He may even condescend to allow me to go with him...
I've never written in this time frame, so it should be interesting to see if my muse will be jostled out of her complacency.
Thanks Jedi-2B!

Hey, I'm west of the Mississippi. Only by a couple miles, but still...
I think I went to a movie by myself twice in my life. Once for one of the OT re-releases, and once for one of the prequels. Both were second viewings, after seeing it once with my hubby.

I've been to see lots of movies by myself. Sometimes the movies weren't good for the kids and the hubby wasn't interested. So I'd go alone.

Jade_Pilot posted: Do you have plans to see the new Star Wars Animated Clone movie?
Eventually ... though whether I watch it on the big screen is debatable. Pretty much everything 'professional' from Star Wars irks or disappoints me these days so I don't know if I'll get around to visiting the theater for this thing.
Jade_Pilot posted: What are your thoughts about writing in this time era?
The official era? Probably not likely. I'm not that big a fan of the prequels (even if Ewan totally ruled as Obi-Wan) so I just can't see me writing anything in this era. Unless I ever get around to doing my Prequel Redux trilogy where I write Episodes I through III the way I felt they should have been.

That's what on-line DVD rentals are for.
I usually don't write in this era. That doesn't mean I can't, I just don't have as many characters that interest me there.
