If we're talking about parts that I just can't bear to reread, it would be all the hand-holding and sugary-sweet scenes with Luke and Callista in Darksaber. I just can't picture Luke being that mushy with anyone, especially in front of other people. We don't see him and Mara acting like that, even though it's obvious they're in love.

I often wonder about that myself. Of course different authors=different interpretations, but I'm one of those people who thrive on consistancy so I often rational that it has to due with Calista's 'close call' and how Luke thought her dead at first.

Or perhaps Luke just matured... mischief

Part 1: What aspect of the SW movies (PT or OT)makes you uncomfortable?

Now we all cringe when we see Luke and Leia kissing so that's a given, but what else is hard to watch?

Anakin being separated from his mother and later Yoda ignoring his fears when he tells the Master about his dreams... worried

Don't forget:

There is still time to respond to the current challenge here in the Over 30 club:

SPRING CHALLENGE APRIL/MAY 2008

Springtime is all about new growth, birth and...re-seeding the yard. For this challenge, write a vignette (or short story if you desire) with a baby featrued. It can be AU or canon. The baby can be OC or canon.

But, please...NO TWINS.

Your response must include the following phrases:

1. goochee goochee goo.

2. nice shot.

3. must take after your side of the family.

Remember to post a link here and to put Over '30 Spring challenge' in the header.

Shhh, don't tell anyone, but I may have a half-cooked 'thing' regarding this challenge... whistling

I am so sorry to interupt your forum but I was hoping you all could help me out with some research I am doing for my final paper due next week in my grad class on Star Wars. (yes I said Grad class on Star Wars how much does that rock??)

I chose fan fiction as my final paper topic. I was wondering if you could all explain to me your fascination with fan fiction? Especially Star Wars? Your experience with it? When and how or do you share it? What other hobbies you find interesting other than fan fiction? And mabye a little more about yourselves? Thanks in advance for your anticipated participation!!

You're starting a final paper that's due next week now???

Have you read much fan-fiction? Try sampling some on the boards with with characters and topics that you're interested in. Then look at the replies from the readers. And the replies from the author. People write fanfiction because they like it. They want more Star Wars and they can write to their taste. Look at some of the discussion topics on this forum, especially the ones about why they they write fan fiction.

Click on some of the authors' and readers' names for their profiles; that will give you as much as anyone wants to give on the web about themselves. Look at their previous posts and other forums that they've posted on. That will tell you more about what they're interested in, too.

You should PM the person before you use them in your paper, though, as a courtesy.

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread. wink

Thank you all this is giving me a very helpful perspective. I actually started it weeks ago but am lacking in the section of other peoples perspective so I thought this might help. I absolutely will ask for permission if/when I decide to quote anyone. Thanks for the tip! You all have been very great and feel free to keep posting as I will keep checking when I hit more writer blocks.

Congratulations on semester end! One of the things I do not miss about university. cool

Now it's all about contract renewals, customers, service delivery issues...

What's that? Do I detect a sense of nostalgia in the air? Maybe school wasn't so bad after all... tongue

I have to give you credit, Jade_Pilot, going back to school. I think I would be completely lost. Things have changed so much since I graduated, back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the Earth (aka the 80's). Even things like registring for classes on line, or being expected to submit assignments via email would throw me. Kudos to you for tackling that. applause
