I always like the rivalries where neither side really remembers what the competition was about in the first place. Old family rivalries, blood rivalries, little arguments that get blown out of proportion, that kind of stuff.
There are also the rivalries where one side doesn't even realize there's a competition going on, but the other side is oh so determined to take Side 1 down a peg - a rivalry created on one side that promotes competition, inspires, motivates...
Not that I would know anything about that...

Ah, rivalries.
Most of mine tend to be testosterone-driven. Such as two good buddies in a bar spot a beautiful girl at the other end. You fill in the blank about what they are rivalling each other for.
It's not always that carnal mind you, but just to give an idea. Imagine Saved By the Bell's Slater and Zack, but very little in the way 'PG' behavior...
I've yet to design a great long term protagonist-antagonist rivalry unfortunately.

I've just checked the challenge post for this but it doesn't seem to give a deadline, can someone tell me so I don't spend too long procrastinating?

My esteemed co-conspirator seems to have left the deadline off this challenge. And we can hardly start procrastinating if there's not a deadline to push.
Shall we say Monday, March 24 at midnight board time, then?
Be there in your classiest attire, grenades optional.
Edited because I actually do know what month I'm in, honest!

I have procrastinated too long on it!
I'll have to be very busy on Monday if I'm to finish the fic I'm working on.

Holy monkeys, but I'd lost track of the date! When did the end of the month come?
I have clearly been far too effective in my procrastination.

Can I have an extra day or two? I won't be able to go to my unfinished fic until tomorrow evening.

You know, our AP English teacher got the nickname "JPB Extender" because she always caved to requests like that (and I don't think we handed in a single paper on the original due date when I took the class...). But I purposefully gave y'all the weekend to finish it up.
So nice to see everyone took the procrastinating element of this challenge so literally.

Are we extending the deadline? If not, I may win by default.
