I finally have something to add! LOL.
My Jedi padawans Lens Eli and Kayla Bix are in Burning Love.
I think this fits the challenge specifications...

I have a question... Can my submission be a part of a longer story? For instance the first half my last post in my current fic <HUGE shameless plug! (see below)> applies...

I'm certainly okay with it- I recall oqi doing pretty much just that back in the old OC Dueling Circle. Just make sure you link to the right post when you PM the sock, and label appropriately so people can easily find it. It should also stand up on its own, so people don't have to read the buildup. Limited timeframe for voting and all that.

What, you mean people don't have 2 hours to spend reading the whole story?! Piffle!
Well, we'll just have to see if my dreams can throw something together, then I can challenge my fingers. "Ok brain and fingers, you've got 2 hours to put it together coherantly. readyGO!"
Oh well. My longer story doesn't QUITE make it under those terms. Not a big deal, I only had all month to think about it. :P I'll work on the NEXT challenge. I appreciate your response though, Commander

JUNE OC DATABASE UPDATE
Okay revolutionaries, it’s June and the sky is blue, the sun is shining and the weather is perfect(at least where I am). We shouldn’t even be inside staring at our computer screens. We should be out THERE, enjoying the day. Carpe Diem! However we all know, even if we go out; we’re just going to take our iPod/MP3 player and a notebook and scribble any away… So let me give you all a topic:
The other day I was shuffling my iTunes and some songs that I hadn’t heard in a while snatched me out of my head and back to a time and place I hadn’t visited in some time. I realized I actually have events in my life bookmarked with certain songs/albums…er, I mean CDs. Literally the soundtrack of my life.
Now, before this becomes a 2 a.m. Time Life CD Collection ad, I want you all to think about some songs that you find that you either identify with one (or several) of your OCs, or songs that you specifically listen to when getting into their heads as you write. Just a couple for now to get your juices flowing. We’ll touch on this again later in the coming weeks.
The OC Story of the Month Is Back!!!
The OC SOTM hath returned. And to kick it off this summer, we choose a one of our more prominent revolutionaries:
The Way by Thumper09
Prompted by the ol’ OC Project; it’s the story of an Imperial Tie Fighter set between Episodes IV and V. It’s a WIP that’s not really to far in so I think we could all shoot over and give Katie our support!
New to the OC Database:
Impact
By VaderLVR64
Set during ROTS, it’s a story in which events far away have an impact on three lives forever.
MamaV is becoming quite the OC contributor in recent months. I think it’s time we made her a full-fledged Revolutionary!
Talon Intelligence Squadron: Not Always Fair
Oh no! Talon Sqaudron is invading the OC Database!!!
May Challenge
Time’s up, close your laptop!
Alright, it looks like we’ve got some great entries for this month:
Dawnlight by Kecen
Aftermath by Stroja
Dreams by MsLanna
One Book to Lead by earlybird obi-wan
Burning Love by brodiew
Remember to PM your votes to the sock. The voting deadline for this round is by midnight on Sunday June 8th (which is technically Monday to those who get confused)
Okay Revolutionaries, get to reading, writing and voting!
P.S. Speaking of voting, the "Awards Season" is upon us, so don't forget to show love for your fellow OC writers and check the first page (along with your bookmarked stories) so you can start compiling your list of nominees for the OC catergories.

Oh yes...
Heyyy, a discussion topic! Music associated with fanfic, well I only do that all the time. I have an iTunes playlist titled "Noir" with the soundtracks to each story in the series, plus bunches that fit tonally if not a specific chapter. My library blew up recently, so I'm still rebuilding it, but it has nearly 200 songs so far. To get my brain in Noir-writing gear, I use a mixture of jazz, TV/movie soundtrack cues, and some popular music. I pull a lot from the Ocean's 11 movies, Cowboy Bebop, The Big O, Alias, and Star Wars. Since the topic asks for just a couple:
Alias Sibul: I associate Alias the womanizing master thief with 70s (or 70s-inspired) funk music, such as Pick Up the Pieces by Average White Band or "Boogie" by the Brand New Heavies.
Jav Yonx & Remy Diabet: There are a couple major tunes for my main character space detectives. One is Tank! as composed by Yoko Kanno and played by the Seatbelts, a super-cool jazz track. The other is Workin' for a Livin' by Huey Lewis & the News. The latter is for the freelance, mercenary aspect of their job. They track down bad guys, but a major piece of their motivation is whether they'll get paid for it.
(Those are all YouTube links; read comments at your own risk. [/Legal disclaimer] )
EDIT: Fixed the Huey Lewis link.

WooHoo, I think I'm back What with the first update to 'The User' in months being up and this being my first contribution to discussion in a long time, things are looking up. I've missed you all, revolutionaries Now lets pretend I never vanished, shall we?
The Story The Of Month! Congratulations Thumper, you're a well deserved recipient What you don't know is that I've been trying to keep up with 'The Way' in my sporadic online time, so my long overdue replies will start peeling in very shortly. I've got to know how it ends - it's been tormenting me in my dreams
Challenge Entries - I'm off to read them, gather my thoughts and reply very soon Everyone knows the real challenge is deciding who to vote for. Right? Huh, am I right guys? High five!
Discussion Topic - An OC Medley of Melodies.
You know, choosing music for OCs is something that I do very often! I'm glad I'm not the only one, to be honest. In fact sometimes I can get so caught up listening to the music I've selected for a scene that I stop writing altogether and just start listening. It's detrimental I tells ya, but at least it sets a great tone.
I've got a couple to share, if you'll indulge me.
Taban Maitland - I have always imagined his themesong to be Lovecats by The Cure. Not to give too much away, but I chose it also on the basis of his upcoming romantic interest - the idea being that he and this soon to be announced character are in fact the lovecats, slipping through the streets while everyone sleeps, etc etc I think I chose it for Taban based on the quirky and upbeat tone, and the line 'So wonderfully, wonderfully, wonderfully, wonderfully pretty'. I think if he could write a lyric about himself this is what he would come up with
Mephesto - He's only been seen in glimpses but is one of my favourite creations ever. His themesong is Red Right Hand by Nick Cave. It might seem a bit cliched, but I'm Australian and therefore can stake a claim to an Aussie artist whenever I want, dammit The whole song paints a picture of a man who is charismatic, inspiring, and behind all of that murderous. The line that sealed the deal for me was 'You're one microscopic cog in his catastrophic plan, designed and directed by his red right hand'. That's just the stuff, right there.
The rest of the music I listen to with regards to characters relates directly to events that happen to them, and to post it here would be spoilerific to the astute reader. So I'll keep stony silence on most of it. Though whenever an update was inspired by a specific piece of music, I think I'll mention it in the update Just for something different.
Edit - Face! You and your youtube linkage are genii. I'm totally stealing that for my post

Just a note on the submission... The actual submission is in the second part. I knew it was a mistake to split the title. Which is actually 'Dreams and Anguish Bring us Together' Mea Culpa.
Taban and Loveacts? Hilarious, Futon. And on a side note, that is one of the few Cure songs I like.
Does Tadgh have his own song, too?
For my characters, it's usually a collection of songs. More to get me into the right mood.
For Leila/Jango its 'Under the Milky Way' by The Mission plus eighties stuff.
My brand new clones from Theta Squad have Brothers! by Frustration and Blood by Editors. Both bands make a very good mix for squad-fic-writing-mood.
Can't think of much more. Strange that Lorna doesn't seem to have a theme song. Lancer had Tempest by Golden Apes, but now that he's Boba again, it doesn't work anymore. Apart from the fact that he's not an OC.
EDIT:
Coopied that nifty idea to link to the songs.
Only that Tempest doesn't seem to be available anywhere. Oh, well. *shrugs*

Face - your selections are just perfect for the style. I don't know if I've mentioned it before but Tank! is just about as great a theme for Jav & Remy as any I've heard. And I've taken a great liking to Alias' "Pick up the Pieces", too Must...stop...repeat...plays!
Etain/Divine Miss L - Now that you mention it there is a themesong for Tadgh! Sinner by Neil Finn. I'd almost forgotten about it given I only chose it a few days ago. If anyone perchance follows that youtube link, please ignore the fact that the flim clip is composed entirely of a man and a cat falling off a building. I dont get it either

I had an entry for the May challenge, but it doesn't seemed to have made the voting block. Did you miss me or did I not meet the specifications?
