When PMing the sock, do I need to just include the title and link, or should I also include the story header information?

For challenge entries, I typically just PM the title and broken link, like this:
[ link=http://boards.theforce.net/blahblahblah]War and Peace, the Unabridged Version[/link]
The header information I believe can be sent when submitting a story to the sock for the OC Database on the first page.
But I'll defer to the thread parents if they have a different way they want to do it or a different way they prefer the links to be broken (then I can change my methods too).

Usually, I post a url to the fic in question and assume the title can be surmised by following the link.
Has anyone written their character's theme song? I have several song ideas, but none of them is the definitive song about Elmira XP

You can't bring me down!
(Submitted by MsLanna)
Let your character be happy and satisfied for a change. Then, make the worst happen, but, as the challenge states, for whichever reasons it does not bring him down. He's still happy after all is said and done.
We can't bring them down, but it won't be for lack of trying.

Force---this is a long thread! Took me 5 minutes to reach the end of it. Any way to just go to the last page instead of clicking "next" incessantly? LOL.
My OC Loch Thrindarr would, I think covertly listen to classical pieces, but he wouldn't admit it! Also, MOBY songs remind me of him alot. I think it's the whole moody, sexy feel of them. Especially the ones that aren't overplayed on the radio.

We're currently voting on the winner of the last challenge, katana. But never fear, we have a shiny new challenge each month.

Yep, stay tuned here. Once the winner is announced (did you vote already? ) he gets some time to come up with the new challenge.
They might all be collected somewhere in the first posts, but I am too tired to look now.
I'm over my bedtime, but my brother called. Didn't talk to him for ages.

How's about we just revisit the rules for the new faces to the thread (and some of you forgetful old faces as well)
The Essential OC Monthly Challenge
Welcome to The New Essential Guide’s Monthly Challenge!
Official Challenge Rules:
1) The only stories accepted are written using only OCs as the main characters (unless a specific challenge indicates otherwise).
2) Approximately every 4 weeks there will be a "Challenge Theme" posted in this thread. Authors will have approximately three weeks, with a specified due date, to write a story based upon that theme. You can write in any era; Before, Saga, or Beyond. All "Themes" are open to interpretation by the author.
2b) These challenges are open to all comers! Just write a story in response and submit it by the designated due date and you’re entered.
3) NO ENTRY FICS/LINKS ARE TO BE POSTED IN THE THREAD. Competitors are required to PM the OC Sock with the link to their story using the following format:
{YOUR LINK HERE] YOUR STORY[/link] (please use broken links as shown)
That's all folks! No other info needed.
The submission period will run from the 1st of the month (when the new challenge is posted) until midnight board time on the due date, roughly three weeks**. Once the submission window closes, the sock will post the entries with links to that challenge's submissions for voting, no posting is to be done by the entrants.
Why this rule? Hopefully it will keep things running smoother and less cluttered in the thread, which is also doubling (or tripling as it were) as an OC index/OC discussion/OC Story of the Month thread. Going forward, a disclaimer/reminder will be added to the posting of each new challenge.
4) The voting period will run for roughly one week (5-7 days)**, until midnight board time of the voting cut off date; this way everyone has a chance to read all the entries. Anytime during this period you can PM me to cast your vote. Please, do not post your vote in the thread , it won't be counted and it would be considered very unseemly. During this period I will be keeping track of the votes received, and at the end of the voting period, I'll announce the winner/co-winners (as sometimes tends to be the case). In the event there is a tie, the tied highest vote getters will be announced as co-winners, as this option will tend to keep the challenges moving forward; as opposed to a write off.
4b) I reserve the right to participate in a Challenge; but my story will NOT be eligible for the voting round, nor will I be voting with everyone else.
4c) Although there never seemed to be an issue in the past; as with the Fanfic Awards, you cannot vote for your own fic. Please, try to find someone else's you like, rather than voting for your own.
4d) Although I don’t think this will be an issue either, and it isn’t a requirement; it is only good sportsmanship that if you submit an entry, that you at least try to read & respond to the other participants’ entries as well.
5) What will I win Bob?
Seriously, you the winner will have earned the opportunity to design the next challenge!
I'll give the winner until the final days of the month to decide upon a theme, then once he/she does, they’ll PM it to the sock and I'll have it posted on the 1st of the following month as the next challenge. Of course, the winner is certainly welcome to participate in their own challenge.
Note: Failing to PM the OCDatabaseSock with a new challenge by the winner will result in me having to come up with a new Challenge on my own, and said winner will thus be subjected to my involuntarily whining over having to do so. (Offer not valid in Texas, Arizona or New Mexico)
In the event of co-winners, all winners will be allowed to submit a challenge of their own, and entrants may choose from which topic they would like to write and submit. Of course if the co-winners would like to brainstorm a single topic, they are more than welcome to do so.
6) Every competitor is to be treated with utmost respect. Flaming WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! (Remember the TOS I talked about earlier in this thread?)
*Also, note that rules are subject to change if needed as the Challenges rolls on...in which case they shall be updated accordingly.
**The submission, and voting rounds will be altered as necessary for the month of February.
Remember the important thing is to have fun and write your revolutionary hearts out!

I'm about 30% done with figuring out my OCs' playlists. That's a lot harder than I expected it to be. So between that and catching up on all the other activities in this thread and around here, I have a random question for anyone interested.
I've heard of a lot of instances where something in real life inspired people to incorporate that into their OC's personality or into the plot of their fic. But has it ever gone the opposite way for you? Has something about your OC ever inspired you to do something in real life or act a certain way?
It's happened to me before, and I'm curious to see if I'm the only one. I've done a lot of odd things in the name of "fic research", but I've also done things in an attempt to live up to what I think my OCs would expect of me if they were real. My battle-hardened characters have, in a weird, roundabout way, gotten me through many anxious times in the dentist's office.
