Title…emm…you notice that I did not make a suggestion in the above post….
I suck at titles too.
But if I must make a suggestion how about this:
The New Jedi Order: Out of the Abyss
Which could be a play on words...
The Charon come from a void or rift in the galaxy...and they emerge from here..
Also more hiden (well, it was until I post it here)
Isn't this what we are attemting to do with the NJO--Take it out of the Abyss of Crap that some think that it is...

Episode Seven
Peace and Prosperity has returned to the galaxy. Luke Skywalker and his Jedi Knights have slowly won the galaxy back from the remnants of the Empire. The last of their evil forces have surrendered and a strong NEW REPUBLIC has emerged from the ashes.
Princess Leia has joined her brother on YAVIN FOUR to complete her training. Their potential being equal, she has fulfilled her destiny and become a Jedi. Now she has taken an apprentice and will soon receive the vaunted title of JEDI MASTER.
All is not well within the Republic despite their best efforts. Though the Republic is strong and hopeful, evil forces gather along the borders in hopes of raiding the great treasures of the galactic union. The twisted nomadic raiders of the YUUZHAN VONG prepare themselves to plunder the vast riches of the galaxy. Unknown to them, they have accidentally disturbed an even greater evil than they. Monsters so evil that they cause the Vong to pale by comparison, the malicious CHARON.
Though the ancient SITH have been extinguished, their servants have not yet departed from the universe. The cruel LUMIYA, a spy and assassin for the wicked EMPEROR PALPATINE, has survived and sought some way to restore her vile master's kingdom.
Journeying to the forbidden homeworld of the Sith in KORRIBAN, Lumiya has sought the counsel of the demonic DARK LORDS. It is through their power and knowledge that she hopes that the great government established by the Jedi can be brought to its knees....

I agree with Jon, Sara. We should write until we have reached a comfortable climax. Whether 500 or 5,000 words, what matters is that you're satisfied with the end result.

I'm glad my idea about the kids is all right. I kinda feel sorry for Mara, though, when you consider how brutal her canonical pregnancy was . . . but I always felt the Skywalkers should be a larger family. I was minorly disappointed when there was only going to be one kid . . .
Replacing Corran and Tresina with Kyp and Alex? Okay, that fits better. Gives Anakin a reason for being the rebel, because if Corran was his Master Anakin would probably be the opposite . . .
I absolutely suck at titles, afraid I can't help you there.
Okay, I like the post schedule. However, there's the opening posts to be hashed out . . . and someone will have to write the 'seperation' scene where the Jedi all fan out in their various missions. There's also the possibility that a couple of the chapters will have to be co-written at some point, like in Children of the Force. We all should study that fic, and its successes and failures . . . and make sure not to make the same mistakes they made, because COTF will forever be incomplete . . .
I like the simplicity of CharonForce for the sock's name. Then simply find a dynamic Luke icon and that's all we have to do. Make sure everyone has the password too.
There's also the fact that I wrote two posts, should I post 'em both at once or space them out, or even discard one?
And this will seem petty, but what will be our chapter heading? Simply Chapter One, for instance, or just a number 1, or give the chapters titles or my weird two title thing?
But I'm glad we've gotten the majority of our first fic plotting finished up. We just need to decide who's doing what. I'm sure Jon will want Jacen/Tenel Ka, for example . . .

I was honestly worried the Sith bit was overwrought.
I decided to go against my normal inclinations though and let the Sith be "extinct."
Maybe it would satisfy people worried about Anakin's prophecy.
Ironic, given that we're bringing Sith back in the story.
Edit: Everyone is allowed to do Luke and Anakin. I would like to do some introspective scenes with them as well. Also, I'll detail Sakana more and her crush on Annie.

RC..I like your idea of CharonForce for the sock
And I also agree that we should probably post everything here or through email to allow us to read what is being written...Kinda what we already are doing. I agree with Padawonlost's statement about putting everything here in the open, but we don't want to make the mistakes that other collaborated fics have. I'm sure we will make some but hopefully we can eliminate some of them.
Also, I think if everyone or at least the majority of us beta/edit each other's works we will be able to keep everyone in character and the authors on the same page. For instance my ideas for Valin and Kyp’s characterization may not be the same as Ish's or even RC's, and I'll admit I know nothing about Lusa. But we all may have chapters that we utilize these characters. I think it is too hard to say "I'll write all Valin scenes" and "you'll write all the Jag/Jaina scenes" But some of us are stronger in characterization of certain characters. For instance, I have always loved Ish's Kyp Durron. I think Padawanlost does an awesome job of Jag. Jon, of course is the expert on Lusa, J/Tk.
But characterization is only part of it. I suck at space battles and lightsaber duels. But RC has written some of the best. My strength is writing emotion and angst with a dash of romance.(at least I've been told I can really write emotion well...lol)
So, I propose that everything is posted here for suggestions or even additions before we post them in the sock. Even though we are writing chapters in a rotation. I think if we can write a great story, a truly polished story, our readers will wait for the chapters to be posted because they will be rewarded.
I personally think we should keep the chapter headings clean and simple.
I like the written out Chapter 1 or Chapter One and forgo the chapter titles...

We should all take note of their accomplishments, failures, and how the story, once melded together like a steel trap, eventually fell apart and ended.
It is truly a great story, perhaps one could call it the Unfinished Symphony of SW fanfiction . . . but lack of organization and communication doomed the fic, as you can see from sudden villain changes to some of the characters' multiple personality disorders and the fic's inability to mesh well when it should have been charging to the end . . .
Teamwork is extraordinarily important here. I'm going to have my posts shipped off to ChildofWinds, our consultant, along with a link to this thread. Even the non-writer(s) should have a say and some involvement.

Great idea, Sara. Yeah, all of us should have a say in each other's posts. Perhaps we should start blacking them out for those who don't want to be spoiled . . .
A New Threat? Okay, that one's appealing.
Forgoing the chapter titles will save us some headaches. Titling chapters has advantages and disadvantages, but for the moment I like Sara's idea.
My writing tends to be extremely angsty and emotional, eerily similiar to Sara's, but instead of throwing romance in like Sara I tend to up the violence, hurling in action scenes left and right. It's strange, how flipping one genre completely changes the nature of our fics . . .
And thanks for the compliments of my action scenes.  You're getting better with the action scenes yourself. And I can't write romance at all (unless it's teary like Gundam Seed) so you're a lot better than I am in that regard.

Emm...well...I will have to get back to you on Valin...Maybe tomorrow night I'll have some ideas in print and be able to post a rough scene or two to introduce him. But I will make mention of Kyp and his squadron.
By the way, would anyone mind if I get rid of that stupid name for his squad? I've always thought it was the craziest thing I've ever heard of--Kyp's Dozen and the Two Advengers...Who names a fighter squad that?...Maybe just calling them The Advengers or something like that? Any ideas RC or Charles?

Wow! You guys have really been working hard on this! C, I LOVE your beginning! It seems just like a scroll from one of the SW films. Your Lumiya piece was great too, but by far, I love the one that included Luke. FINALLY!!!! Luke seemed like Luke, and you wrote him the way I've been wanting the SW authors to write him! It's so nice to see him successful and respected! I love it!
I also love the way you're writing Ben. I like the fact that he loves to read and that you said he's a "genius". I'm also glad that you haven't ruled out having Luke teach his own son.
Interesting that Anakin Solo is sort of the rogue Jedi here.
GREAT job, C! I wish that you were writing the professional SW books! You would be great!
I didn't have time to read any farther than C's piece on Luke, Mara, and Ben, but I really love what I've read so far! It's finally enjoyable to read a SW story again.
I'll try to keep up as much as possible from now on.
You've got a great beginning!
Striker, I like this thread idea. This will make it easier for everyone to communicate with the whole group and you won't have to pass messages back and forth. It will be much more efficient, I think!
