May we have an example of what is allowed in a same-sex pairing- like what is listed under Violence and Sex? Just so we as authors know what is allowable and how vague we have to be.

We've been working on getting some examples posted, but for now, you can look at the responses to the Rainbow Challenge from the Mature Themes thread (links should be on the last page of the thread). And on the page before that, there are links to the challenge response threads in each forum (on a 50 posts-per-page setting).
As always, if you're not sure that your story meets the guidelines, PM the mods.

Regarding plagiarism; is a person contacted before they are banned?
Say, for example, if I posted a fic here and on some other fanfic place. Someone from there tells you here that the story is already on their site, therefore I must have plagiarised.
Would I be contacted so I could explain I was the same person who posted in the other place?

Plagiarism is a really really serious accusation. As such, it's important to make sure all the facts are in before rendering judgment. That said, it would probably depend on the situation as to whether discussion with the (possible) offender takes place in a "what's the deal?" PM, a warning PM, or the unban request system.
Speaking in general terms for any and all editable/bannable actions, I'd personally rather talk something out before I have to ban someone, but sometimes that isn't possible.

Sorry to ask but the policies basically mean I can post a PG-13 story, (barely even that) providing I mention the rating.
Secondly you didn't mention the policy on suicide.

It depends on what's in the story. What the MPAA might consider PG-13 might be allowed depending on how you write it. ESB, for example - it has torture, but it's still PG because of the way that was portrayed. Anakin's immolation, on the other hand, was slapped with a PG-13. So was Temple of Doom, where all you see is someone's heart being ripped out without too much other damage - we've allowed worse (see the example in the FAQ).
The rating label itself won't excuse you. Even with a PG rating, if we see something that's beyond what we allow, we'll ask you to edit your story.
Suicide: I suggest following the violence standard above for the actual physical act. As for the mental anguish, I can't think of any times where those descriptions go overboard, unless you're also including darker subjects like rape.
You can always send us what you've written, if you're not sure whether or not it fits within the guidelines.

I'm writing a fan-fic set around the same events but from another point of view as the comic Tales of the Jedi: The Sith War. While it's set in a similar time as the two games of KOTOR, it has nothing or at least little to do with the games. Should I still post it as KOTOR, or can I post it as TOTJ?
Thanks.

That's great, because TOTJ wasn't listed I thought I couldn't list it as that.
Thanks for a quick answer!

The mods don't care what you post as eras or titles or anything, as long as its appropriate Those are just the general timelines

JadeSolo posted: Updated list TK

The Black Fleet Crisis -- R
Planet of Twilight -- PG-13
The Crystal Star -- An abomination.
The New Rebellion -- PG-13
DEL REY (NJO):
Vector Prime -- PG-13
Dark Tide Duology -- R
Agents of Chaos Duology -- R
Balance Point -- R
Edge of Victory Duology -- PG-13
Star By Star -- R
Dark Journey -- PG-13
Enemy Lines Duology -- PG-13
Traitor -- NC-17
Destiny Way -- PG-13
Force Heretic Trilogy -- PG-13
The Unifying Force -- PG-13

BFC: Was this rated R for torture?
Planet of Twilight: Just wondering about the rating in general.
The Crystal Star: not a question on rating, just... haha.
The New Rebellion: Wondering why it received a PG-13 as opposed to PG. Massive death?
Also, the NJO books as a whole seem to have taken a jump in rating as opposed to the Bantam books. Was there any change in the rating system, or did they all receive PG-13 to NC-17 ratings because they were all that violent?
Thanks!

Here's my 2 creds:
BFC - Haven't read it.
PoT - Haven't read it.
TNR - Haven't read it.
I'm not sure where those ratings came from, but I did read the entire NJO and wouldn't rate any of them higher than PG-13. Maybe the R is for violence - they are a bit more graphic than other books, but nothing I wouldn't let my pre-teen/teenage kids read. I can't even imagine where that NC-17 for Traitor came from, but it's no more graphic than the others. IMHO, the Dark Tide duo and Star by Star were by far the most gruesome of that series.

Traitor technically had more torture than any of the others, though. It didn't seem so explicit as to leave a mark on me, but I suppose it might inspire dark mental pictures?

I think one of the reasons for the NC-17, in addition to the torture, was the nudity. Frankly, I would've remembered something like that, so I'm not even sure that's an issue. But, it's been a while since I read it.
