We've been doing the yard sale thing, too. Haven't had that experience, but between thrift stores, yard sales, consignment stores, ebay, and church consignment sales, we've completely outfitted two babies for their entire first year for under $200. And almost everything we got was high end boutique brands. happy Our absolute best deals came from a yard sale last week--$0.50 an outfit, and some of the outfits had five and six pieces of clothing in them.

I adore garage sales. There usually aren't any clothes I can find (thuogh I got a cute sweater a couple years ago) but last summer during our neighborhood's annual garage sale, I found a purse for $10. It's really big and can fit 3-6 books, which is awesome grin (and geeky)

That's really rude!! He should have organized his stuff better.

Your talk of garage sales is making me take an unexpected detour into Memory Lane . . .

We don't have them in Japan, so I have to settle for eBay. Or rather, I would if I had a credit card - which I'm seriously considering getting just so I can buy the YJK/JJK/JA/JQ/GoDV books.

Yesterday was our annual church yard sale, and the youth worked a hot dog stand.

Somehow, the day ended with me getting stuck in a tree. tongue

Trust me, there's lots of ways to get stuck in a tree... I may have discovered most of them from my tree climbing days, but I'm still curious as to how you did it. tongue

Hey you have the firefighters for that. Stuck in a tree grin

I have once saved a Magpie that was stuck in a tree.

And talking about trees, a nest of Bluetits (or blacktits. They have a black piece on their head) is empty again. They left this day to live in the trees. 6 young ones and 2 adults.
Again silence in the garden and no more 100 flying movements in one hour and that during 12 days from 5 am to 9 pm.

Well, our youth group decided we weren't attracting enough people. We made some terrible signs, and walked to an intersection. It was hot, and I was about to melt. I thought the shade of a tree sounded nice, so I waved the sign and shouted while standing underneath a tree.

... But you know, voices carry better when they're higher up. tongue I crumpled up my terrible sign and climbed the tree. My brother followed, but he managed to climb much farther than me. Then, I realized I couldn't easily get down.

I got stuck. I'm notorius for getting "stuck" places. I've been stuck in store racks, wooden rocking horses, desk chairs, underneath church pews and beds, clown costumes, etc. The common sense portion of my brain has never quite functioned properly. laugh

I don't think I ever admitted I was stuck, but I sat on a limb for a while before getting the brilliant idea to jump down. I'm a little scratched up, but nothing worse. wink

laugh I'm sure you got at least a little attention. I'm glad you're ok, jumping out of a tree could have ended much worse.
