BaronCoop posted: lol well in that case ....nevermind. Oh, the story behind the faces is thus:
Last night I went out dancing, but had a bit too much to drink. I passed out, but was awakened by a rooster. It hurt my hangover to hear the rooster, so I shushed him. Then a clown walked in. I was in no mood to deal with a #$%# clown, so I punched him in the face. Then I had my coffee, and all was right with the world.
That was the most complex story I could think up with the faces we have available.
Ohhhhhhhh...I thought this was just another verbal face off between Hillary and Obama.

And, yes, there is a story behind that.
I tried, I really did, but I cannot figure that story out. Something about going dancing, and love making you sick?
Well, it started with me being happily married then having issues with the outside family which caused much stress. Then, I got sick... and then better. I had an arguement with my mom which left me horrified and angry... and then worked it out and am proceeding against her wishes. Now, I feel less stressed.
Okay, I have a new idea for a game... look for it tonight!

How do you go about finding humor in things that happen to you and converting them into a story?
Push them into absurdity. It's possible to take a situation and push it one step further and then another until it's just too silly. For example, I was looking at jello wiggling one day (I was making it for my kids) and wrote a whole story around it. Same with laundry and wondering about whether you could drown in soap bubbles. Push it to the max!
What can make a frustrating situation funny (besides the fact it's happening to someone else)?
Actually, I don't find frustrating situations for other people funny. I would more likely feel sympathy for them and write an angsty story instead.
But as with all situations, my frustration could make me look at something a different way and that could turn into a story. I tend to laugh at myself once I'm beyond the frustration. For example, today something happened at work that made my blood boil but then I stepped back and started laughing because it was just too stupid for words. The potential for silliness was there!
Do you think there's an instance of this kind of humor that's been overdone?
Oh my word yes. Alexis hit it on the head. A story has to be in the SW universe, not just a transposed Earth story. Otherwise it just doesn't work - for me. It obviously does for a lot of other people and that's cool, too, but I'm not likely to read it.

How do you go about finding humor in things that happen to you and converting them into a story?
Oh goodness! I live in a very funny household. My dad is really really funny, and is always making everyone laugh. I've got a mom who loves to try and embarass me by doing goofy stuff (Like skipping through the parking lot, riding the grocery cart in the store, imitating frog calls, etc.) but usually I just join her. My oldest little sister often likes to pretends that she pretends she doesn't know me, because I'm a geek, and my littlest little sister is adorable and thought soap operas were singing in the shower.
I have an abundance of humor all around me all the time.
What can make a frustrating situation funny (besides the fact it's happening to someone else)?
Usually, I can take a step back from something frustrating that's happening to me and laugh. Something funny that's also incredibly annoying, is usually something that is one of a few things
a) Ridiculously Stupid
b) Ridiculously Difficult
c) Ridiculously Random
d) All of the above
Do you think there's an instance of this kind of humor that's been overdone?
I can't think of any right now, but I'm sure there has been!

Yeah, I enjoyed it, too. I wrote a couple things I would never have thought to write otherwise. Then we were left hanging with a promise for a new game.

SO, WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAYS?
We don't know... that is up to you!
How to Play
1. I will post thirty numbers, each of them having a corresponding funny quote from a movie.
2. You can sign up to pick as many numbers as you wish, but each number can be picked only once (I'll keep track of who has what in this post).
3. As you pick your numbers, I will PM you with the silly quote.
4.This is where the writing comes into play. You are to pick any part in a Star Wars Movie and weave the quote into it. You can change things (ie, the dialogue, what happens, etc) to make it work, but it MUST BE FUNNY!
5. You then post the resulting excerpts for everyone here to read and laugh at. At the beginning of the post, be sure to give the following information: the quote, what movie it is from, and the Star Wars part being parodied.
The deadline is a week from today.
Should you have any questions, please advise!
