Yeah, well, the whole thing with the research going on...I don't know. It really isn't as fun without Larson. I literally got depressed removing some of the lines that I had in there.

It really popped before. The only thing I can think to do is add a differert character...but we'd have a terrible time making that wash because there's no time for the BOT to meet him.

Yeah and a new character having the same snark level as Larson would just kind of be pointless.

I agree. It has now lost its edginess. I really don't know what direction you want me to now go with this. Do you want BOT to now find some other ship to go back to Naboo on or go back to Larson's ship or what.

Let's see what people think about pepping this one up first. It may take a new direction yet again.

I'm willing to rewrite it again, I just desperately dislike how it's lost its charm.
Edit: It also makes things unbelievable that just on the power of Bot's persuasion, Bel Maden freaks out. It makes Bel Maden a weaker character. It would be out-of-character for Bot to physically threaten, but we really need a way to get this blackmail thing to hold its water.

I don't know that I agree with that. The dude did murder somebody favored by the Emperor. And Palpy's enough to strike fear into the hearts of the most intrepid.
One thought I have is to have BOT, on the trip over, in contact with another bot or another character at the medcenter before we get there. A character with an engaging personality...although not another Larson, obviously. This would require some tweaking on the part of JedSith, but if that could be set up before BOT gets there, it could be done via viewscreen, and there'd be someone there already when BOT gets to the medcenter for her to work with.
We could get creative with this. Say Meklis has a relative on this planet or something...someone willing to take over the Larson role.
Is this a doable thing, does anyone think?

The idea of BOT contacting another bot or character at the medcenter to maybe pre-arrange a few of the things with Bel Maden might actually work. It could maybe also be a character that Meklis knows on the planet and thereby has also an agenda with Bel Maden. This BOT would know as well since he notices that person in the files of Bestine while scanning the system in advance of his arrival there.
So, BOT could then tell Larson that he has a contact that will now take him to Naboo. You could name this character whatever you want. He/she would know about the Meklis/Bel Maden connection and be obviously sympathetic to BOT's cause. He/she would now take this information that BOT has about Bel Maden as something that he/she could use to blackmail Bel Maden in conjunction with BOT or even instead of BOT.

What does everyone else think? It might be a little too convenient to have them able to interface, but if it's acceptable, I'll rework it.

Well, let's wait for a few more votes, but if this is what we want to do, you'll probably have to work with JedSith on it. The trip there is his part, and that's where we'll have to intro the medcenter character on viewscreen.

I think it might be feasible if I write into the scene about what they're doing on Bestine that I wrote that they're not entirely on their own.

That might be helpful. I don't see how it can work if BOT doesn't know this new helping character from before somehow.
If it's a droid, maybe they were both Meklis's droids at one time? If it's a person, maybe they both served under Meklis on an Imperial ship? I imagine Meklis was a kind officer and they both want to help him out.

Well, option 1: Pre-Naboo, the Meklises were sufficiently wealthy to have a number of servant droids
option 2: This other droid was, as you said, on an Imperial ship that Meklis served on. On the other hand, really, there aren't a lot of droids on Imperial ships. We see mouse droids and, in the PT, medical droids. When would a SP-1M have cause to go to a medical droid?

As I said, throw them in jail as soon as they arrive on the planet. They meet the bounty hunters, and the wookiee goes with the droid to see the doctor.
It offers a different dynamic where instead of a sarcastic Larson, you have a potentially menacing Wookiee that the doctor doesn't want to cross. Maybe he doesn't understand what the wookiee is saying, and the droid translates...exaggerating the translation, making the doctor even more fearful of what could happen if he doesn't comply. It not only works for the story, but it gives the scene that humor that was missing once Larson was taken out.

That still has the issue of another set that needs to be used and more cast members needing to be taken on. Plus just happening to have a chance to break out immediately after having been thrown in jail is a little too convenient.
