Thoughts on that, from someone who's painstakingly ficcifying the games-
It is a lot easier on the narrative if you can take subquests and divide them up between groups of characters. There is no logical reason for everyone else to stay on the ship while the PC is running around with the party.
It's also a lot easier on the narrative if you can divide backstory conversations between different characters. It makes sense, when writing a game, to have the main character find everything. However, that doesn't make sense in a book.
Most importantly... while we're following the basic skeleton of a video game, remember that we're writing a story. The two narrative structures are very different, and we should take full advantage of the medium we're working with.

Exactly the answer I was looking for. I happen to be loving writing KOTOR much mroe than I did playing it.

Hi guys
Sorry i havnt been around but i got an emergency deployment to baghdad because some idiot broke a squadron of blackhawks. Sorry to be missed out of the writing but still looking forward to being a "creative consultant" was it?
Anywhoo project looks good and seems to have interesting characters, and i cant wait to see more.

Unfortunately, our writer for Coruscant is nowhere to be found. I'm giving him a couple more days before I hand over his planet to an alternate writer. After that...
