Honestly, don't see why it opens a whole new can of worms, since as you said abstaining from voting has the same effect. However, that is neither her nor there at this time. Really I just wanted to put the suggestion out there so it could be addressed post awards because it has always bugged me and I never got the chance to bring it up before.
So for now I say we drop it and let this be the information thread once more. We can take up this discussion again post awards. Fanfiction awards overseer and volunteers I give you back your thread. And I apologize for any problems my little sidetrack caused.

Personally, I would say we have the 'no voting for yourself' rule for the same reason.
In any case, this would be more of a post-Awards issue, so you're welcome to revisit it then.

I never saw a problem with that. Considering the egoisitc nature of man, I think it's a good rule.
Another thing, I already know I cannot be there for the Before Saga Ceremony.  Normally, that wouldn't bother me, but since I'm the only one eligible in the poetry section I wonder if it's a problem that I can't show up? Should I send an emissary with an exuse or something? Am I worrying too much?
I'll be on a holiday without i-net until the 11th...

No one's obligated to attend the ceremonies, so it's not a problem if you can't be around. You're welcome to send a friend or someone on your behalf, but it's entirely up to you if you want to do that or not.
Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it, though. We'll miss you!

So far I could never make it since any ceremony is in the middle of the night for me. But this time, they fall into my holidays, so I might make it awake into one... I So hope I will, they always read like like so much fun afterwards.
