So, what was up with that character bios thread. Are we supposed to base our characters off of that? In that case, I'm the female Alderaanian.

I was going to ask the same question, since I actually managed to come up with a character who is a comms specialist. If we're using the characters as listed in the other thread, I will trash him.

We can go either way, guys. Do you want to use that information or do you want to come up with your own characters? Votes?

Here’s the lowdown on the characters involved in the Endor Rebel Strike team:

Madine’s Commandoes.

Most were handpicked specifically for this mission if not specifically by Madine himself.

In creating the background for the Rebel Commando Strike team I think it’s important to look at what had happened to build up towards the events on Endor:

Just prior to the Battle of Yavin, Lord Tion who was at the time Lord Darth Vader’s predecessor in commanding the task force whose primary function was to “identifying and eradicating” rebel Alliance operatives.

Lord Tion’s investigation led him to Ralltiir where upon rumors of rebel activity, he received orders to take control of the planet. His methods where brutal and ultimately
Alderaan Viceroy, Bail Organa dispatched his daughter Princess Leia to the area under the guise of a diplomatic mission to lending support and relief missions to Ralltiir.

While evacuating several operatives, an injured Rebel Soldier told Leia of a top secret project being conducted by the Empire.

Viceroy Organa, an Alliance supporter, approached the brash Lord. Tion was smitten with Leia and he boasted to Organa that he was indeed involved in the top secret project for the Empire: The Death Star. Unknowingly he had revealed the location of the research facility on Danuta to the Alliance.

With this information, Mon Mothma turned to former Imperial officer Kyle Katarn, to infiltrate and steal the plans for this Death Star. The mission known as Operation: Skyhook was about to be compromised when Darth Vader became aware of Katarn’s spy network.

Katarn was the only one known to have escaped Danuta, rendezvoused with the Tantive IV near Toprawa and transmitted the plans Princess Leia’s councilor ship. But Vader tracked Katarn’s movements and intercepted the Tantive IV near Tatooine.

While Katarn eluded Imperial Forces, Leia was captured and it was reported to Bail Organa that her ship was destroyed in an meteor shower.

After the destruction of the first Death Star over the Fourth Moon of Yavin, Darth Vader was assigned Lord Tion’s task force.

Knowing that the Empire’s investigation would soon lead him into the hands of the dark Lord of the Sith, Crix Madine contacted Mon Mothma seeking Katarn’s help in defecting. It is more than likely that Crix Madine had covertly aided Katarn by giving him access to the Danuta research installation and was close to being detected.

It is suggested that Crix Madine, while an Imperial Officer, was involved in the Candorian Plaque on Dentaal. He felt so bad at what he had done, and could not allow the empire to construct such a device of destruction, that he may have helped the Rebels to prevent any more deaths.

He was to lead the team to Endor, may have even handpicked his men, but was asked to command one of the Mon Calamari Cruisers so he recruited Han Solo to take his place (General Madine’s scenes were filmed but ended up being cut out of the final cut).

Crix Madine was the overall commander (like Patton). I don't know if Major Derlin is involved in this at all.

There are currently fifteen identifiable members of the strike team, some of who are former Imperial officers:

Colonel Cracken (Captain Pash Cracken and son of Airen Cracken, head of Alliance High Command?)is the Flight Commander for Madine’s Commandos. He flew with Lando aboard Gold Leader during the Death Star II attack.(If the two characters are the same, Cracken attended an Imperial Academy under false credentials, and convinced and entire TIE wing to defect. This is however highly unlikely considering the Stormtrooper’s cloned society).

“Endor Scout Trooper” is the un-named Mission Commander (?) who sported a white beard.

Captain Yutani is the team’s weapons expert. He is a scout who once served under General Maximillian Veers but defected (probably with Madine).

Lt. Page is the former Imperial officer who may have defected with Madine upon graduating from the military academy and who “works closely with Cracken”. His father was a senator from Corulag who supported the Empire and forced his son into the Imperial Academy.

Lt. Blount is Cracken’s wingman. Former ISB who probably flew with Lando aboard Gold Leader.

Lt. Greeve is the teams sharpshooter and scout who was recruited from Kashyyyk.

Corporal Kensaric served with Bren Derlin on Hoth. His job is to erase evidence the team leaves behind and covers their tracks.

Corporal Beezer is the female team member from Alderaan. Trained by Brooks Carlson.

Corporal Delevar is the team’s field medic and a veteran of the Battle of Hoth.

Corporal Janse is the teams weapons expert and sharpshooter. Specializes in weapons modifications; he is a hunter and former Blastech employee from Ukio.

Corporal Midge is the team’s field technician from Chandrila. Inspired by Mon Mothma to join the Alliance.

Sergeant Bruckman is the teams Corellian point man.

Sergeant Junkin is the demolitions expert. Carries explosives into the bunker.

Sergeant Brooks Carlson is a former Imperial officer who defected with Madine. He now trains the next generation of rebel strike team commandos.

Un-named Commando of African Decent. He carries a large rifle suggesting he may also be a sharpshooter.

Dresselian Commandos are experts in Guerilla warfare (not seen in action on Endor).

Hope this helps you guys.

Clint.

Oh, by all means, Fluke. I'd be interested in seeing what characters you come up with.

I'm not always a big fan of Decipher myself.
Hopefully this will help to boost the creativity of the group.

I offer this information only as a tool.

To Darth Lothi and the team,

Please don't trash the character you created. If you do then I've damaged the project by giving you this information. This is not my intent. I had hoped you could use this information in building your characters.

If you can, use the information to build on to. I hope I have not hurt the creativity of this group. That was not my intent. I'm sorry.

I will check in every once in a while to see how you are doing.

Like Qu Rahn, I will be there to offer imput and suggestions, but will not try to presuade you from one action to another.

Good luck,

Clint.

Hey guys, sorry for my unexcused absence. It is really cool to see IA taking charge on so many things, and it is really even better to see so many hyped about this long overdue project. With your permission, I have a suggestion for a biography for a character I created. If you don't like it, scratch it, but I thought I would post it before I lost the file or something.

Will post later. happy

Name: Trey Kraven
Rank: Sergeant
Age: 30
Species: Human
Place of birth: Furar

Trey Kraven, aka the Blustery Bombardier, began life on the industrial planet of Furar, known for its potential natural resources, including those of a rare chemical nature. It was only likely that in this environment that Trey Kraven most feel most at home. As a boy, he began mixing chemicals for his mother‘s small garden. His knowledge was natural - he received no formal training. Trey’s raw talent for metallurgy and chemistry came naturally from the environment in which he lived. However, tales of grandiose exploits far beyond his rural planet had struck him, and he was bound and determined to explore the galaxy for adventure instead of following his calling as a brilliant chemist.

As Trey ventured out into the harsh world of his upbringing, he found a job at a local spaceport, welding sheets of metal to grounded shuttles and ferries to make them space-worthy. When he earned enough money, he bought a ticket off-planet and decided to make his way for a local seat of government, the planet of Chandrilla. As the convoy in which he flew in inched closer to Chandrillan space, it came under attack by local authorities, demanding to impound the ships. It was by chance that Kraven ducked onto small escape pod, and it was by another chance that he was picked up just days later by a wandering Rebel Fleet.

Only 26 years old, he quickly joined the Rebellion and joined in the shipboard activities, becoming a mechanic for wrecked shuttles and badly damaged vehicles. Because the Rebellion was in constant need of repair, Kraven never got away from his job. As the Hoth base established, Kraven was moved on planet and assigned a duty of servicing outdoor emplacements, a job at which he excelled. Despite the cold, his knowledge for thermal reactions and other such chemical know-how in such a cold environment made his job all that much easier. He got the job of teaching other troops the knowledge of adapting technology to the cold. Within a few months, Kraven had a small team of engineers specialized in mechanics and chemical and environmental specialization. His engineering teams, called Demo teams because of the work with highly reactive liquids and fuels otherwise known as “demolitions“, were highly regarded but under constant pressure to maintain the finicky equipment of Echo Base under the harsh conditions.

It was by pure luck Kraven and Demo Team 23 was assigned to Echo Base the day the Imperial attack came. Quickly adapting the situation again, and using the luck that never seemed to leave him, Kraven lead attack after attack on Imperial mechanized walkers, adapting his team‘s equipment as bomb components. What is remembered of Kraven is his red faced visage running up to the fallen AT-AT walkers screaming and whistling, ready to burst with pent up energy. He continuously yelled, cursed, and teased the Imperial troops and crews, to the surprise of both the Echo troops and the Imperials. These bursts of nonsensical fervor earned him the respect of the General Reeiken’s ground troops, who all in turned gave him the nickname, the “Blustery Bombardier”

As the walkers steadily overtook Echo Base, Kraven set up charges with the last team of rebels, successfully destroying key comm centers and other databases, stalling the Imperial rush onto base and allowing the remaining Rebel Alliance personnel to escape. Kraven furthered his career after the battle by founding the enterprise by which the then Rebel Alliance could use simple G-33 proton grenades armed with left over residue components to make nasty explosives. If used properly, bombs of such a nature could bring down Imperial strongholds with ease. That is in theory. Rumor of such Kraven’s chemical knowledge moved quickly, and his various explosive building techniques moved their way onto all fronts and all of the armed forces, especially those in special ops squads. Despite the G-33’s rumored success, they were often jury-rigged with spare parts and too many different combustibles. Some of these often hastily armed concoctions failed work under extreme battle conditions, leading to a few speculative thoughts on Kraven‘s ideas and not the actual individuals who had misinterpreted Kraven‘s methods. In response Kraven simply muttered an adage still in use today, “It only takes an idiot to mess up and say ‘the more chance it will break, the more mess you will make.’ ”

By the time the second Death Star plans had been retrieved and the heroes of the Rebellion had escaped Coruscant, Kraven the Blustery Bombardier and his team of demolitions renegades had single handedly taken part in over 30 missions, varying from simple ground runs to full scale ship board assaults.. Kraven’s techniques for mixing the right explosives for the right job earned him the right to his new rank and an offer: to work with a strike team planning to hit the shield generator complex on the forest moon of Endor. It was the idea of an act of revenge that made Kraven not give the mission a second thought and accept without hesitation.
