I was originally going to post this in my previous post...but I feel that this deserves a post of it's own.
PtrsonsZOO, House Mother of the Fortress...I know I'm rather new here, but...somehow, this has really struck me hard. I shall sorely and deeply miss your presence here. Throughout my time here so far, you have shown a strong maturity, been a role model to many, and most importantly given unconditionally of yourself. You have supported all of us here, probably in more ways than any of us even know about. I think back to when I announced here that my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer (only a few short weeks ago) and you immediately made yourself available to me, showered your love and compassion and sympathy upon me. You offered to listen to me, should I ever want to PM you. Now that I think about it, maybe I should have taken you up on that. That is my one regret that I have.
And how, of course, could I forget that we share a favorite film: Cold Comfort Farm. It is even in these things that seem so small and insignificant that camaraderie and friendship can be formed. And even though it was only a movie, it was something that drew me to you more, and helped me to more easily cross however many miles that separates us. We all have ways of connecting ourselves to each other, and while I didn't really know you, I felt connected to you.
Finally, Ptrsons, I wanted to say that I will miss you. I will miss the wisdom you provide these ladies (and the few gentleman) so freely. I will miss the intelligence and warmth you seemed to be able to add to any conversation and situation. I think I can speak for everyone here to say that we ALL will miss you. And the JC shall be the lesser in your absence.
May God bless you, and may you live your life to the fullest, always experiencing and living in His infinite love. Don't forget us here in the Fortress, and please PLEASE stop by sometimes. We all love you.

Ptrsons: Noooo, don't leave!  We'll miss you. Well, actualy it is your choice, you have a right to be upset over descrimination issues, but we really will miss you here. You really have been "the house mother" in the fact that you have sort of watched out for us all, listened to us, just been there. And you've been a friend as well. God Bless.

Wow, I guess 34 really summed it up but I will add my own sentiments.
Ptrsons, the House Mother, I know I will miss you very deeply. In this other world I've created myself, the JC, I have found a sense of a mother in you- a role model, a protector of your own sorts. Never did you hesitate to supply much needed advice. Never did you wait a moment later to bake those infamous Fortress Mother cookies when we were feeling low.
The stability you provided here at the Fortress will be missed. However, it is your friendship that will be something that will thrive here, forever. The doors of the Fortress as well as our PM boxes will be open to you always.

How is it possible to go to bed perfectly healthy, wake up two hours later and feel icky, then wake up another hour after that and have your body decide it's going to forcibly reject everything it's ingested for the past 24 hours?
I'm not sure but it's gone and happened to me . I'm feeling better now but ugh, last night was horrible. I slept fitfully and then napped all afternoon. When you haven't been sick for ages and then all of a sudden you get struck down, it's doubly horrible because it's so rare.
Enough about me, though. Ptrsons, I know you don't know me, but after reading the backlog on the thread, I feel like I know you. (Not in a creepy way, I don't know how else to say it.) You will be missed!

An update on my mom:
I know you have all been praying for my mom, so I figured you might want to know how she's been doing. She went in for surgery to get a lumpectomy last Monday (February 17) early in the morning. Aside from there being a few technical difficulties before the actual surgery, and the area having a huge snowstorm (my parents went and stayed in a motel so they could be closer to the doctors office because of the snow), it went off without a hitch. They successfully removed the tumor and there were no traces of cancer at all in the lymph nodes. Yesterday, my mom got back her pathology report and there was no cancer anywhere near the margins of the tumor and surrounding area that they cut out. At this point she's just been recommended for radiation treatment, but she doesn't know if she'll have to go through chemotherapy or not. We'll see about that. But needless to say, I am relieved that my mom's surgery went so well and that she won't have to go in for more surgery.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and sympathy. They really did mean a lot to me, my mom, and the rest of my family.
I'll update you all as/if more things come up.

Oh, Ptrsons- who's going to advance the pages for us?
I am whole heartedly behind you with the discrimination, and it does get me quite angry myself.
If you haven't done so already, I suggest writing a strongly worded letter explaining why you leave.
But...
I will miss you. I've been here for what, a year? It seems like much longer, in a positive way. Your compassion and your guidance to the women of the Fortress will be sorely missed. People like you are the Fortress.

Well, I don't think I can say it better than 34. We can't say how much you've helped us, Ptrsons. We'll all miss you!! There will always be a place for you in the Fortress, should you ever choose to come back.
