“Telin, get in here,” Emperor Skywalker yelled from his office.
“Yes my Emperor,” Telin stuttered before the door had closed behind him. “What do you need?” It wasn’t wise to keep the Emperor waiting. In the three months since Mara had left, the danger level of working in the Imperial Palace had risen dramatically. Telin placed his life at risk whenever he entered the Emperor’s presence.
“Where are those intelligence reports from Admiral Hanlover?” Luke demanded.
“We haven’t received them yet my Lord,” Telin explained apologetically. The delivery of intelligence reports had become a daily ritual. A ritual that never seemed to satisfy the Emperor. There was no doubt in Telin’s mind that Emperor Skywalker was searching for information on Mara Jade. Telin didn’t really care where she was, as long as she wasn’t nearby. Since her abrupt departure there had been two rumored reports of someone in the Palace seeing her either entering or exiting. Telin normally would have ignored such gossip, except for the fact that each of these supposed meetings left the Emperor in a fouler mood than before.
“I want those reports on my desk the moment they’re delivered,” Luke ordered. “She’s not answering my calls again. I have to know what she’s up to.”

“Blue Two to Base. We’ve been on patrol for six hours and are ready to return home,” the middle-aged A-Wing pilot reported.
“Copy that Blue Two. You are cleared to return.”
Wonderful, Blue Two thought to himself. To a pilot, about the only thing more boring than patrol duty was sitting around the base waiting for your turn to go on patrol. Blue Two, better known as Keiv Nuran, was one of the few pilots still alive who had been a member of the Rebellion before Endor. Flying with him was Garn Welsky, a young man barely old enough to grow that ridiculous mustache he refused to shave.
“You heard ‘em Blue Six. Let’s go home,” Keiv said laconically. It hadn’t been a fun patrol for a veteran who had once flown against swarms of TIE Fighters and made attack runs against Star Destroyers. Now he was out on a milk run to meet up with a supply freighter. The freighter had been scheduled to show up four hours ago, but never made it.
“Hold on sir. My sensors show a ship exiting hyperspace,” Garn reported excitedly.
“Calm down son,” Keiv ordered. “Where’s he at?”
“The ship re-entered normal space near the rendezvous coordinates. Looks like our freighter made it after all.”
“Okay Blue Six, let’s go meet him.”
“Message coming in sir,” Garn stated unnecessarily.
“Is anybody out there? This is the freighter Eowyn. I’ve been shot up pretty bad by the Imps and need assistance. Is anybody there?”
“Freighter Eowyn, if you are who we think you are please transmit the authentication code and we’d be glad to lend you a hand,” Keiv said curiously. Judging by the voice the pilot of the Eowyn was a woman. Female smugglers were uncommon, attractive ones even more so. Keiv wondered if this patrol might be worth his time after all.
“Transmission commencing,” the voice from the Eowyn reported. “Good to hear your voice.”
Once the authentication code was verified, Blue Two and Blue Six took up flanking positions alongside the struggling freighter. Visual inspection of the hull showed where a few shots from a turbolaser had made their way through the shields and scorched the ship itself.
“Your ship looks a bit beat up,” Keiv informed the pilot of the Eowyn. “What happened?”
“I ran into an Imperial patrol group as I left Dantooine. They wanted me to let them aboard to inspect my cargo and manifest. I made a run for it and managed to make an emergency jump into hyperspace. Unfortunately they managed to pound me pretty good before I made it out and the hyperdrive conked out shortly after the jump. I’ve spent the last day and a half cannibalizing my ship to get the blasted thing working again.”
“Can you handle another hyperspace jump?” Keiv inquired.
“Yeah, but the Eowyn ain’t as fast as she used to be.”
“That’s all right. Slave your navicomputer to mine and I’ll take you to base. You can make more extensive repairs there.”
“Thanks,” the pilot of the Eowyn said gracefully. “Handing over control now.”
It only took a few moments for the navicomputer aboard the A-Wing to upload the data into the Eowyn. Once the two ships were slaved together Keiv gave the signal and the ships jumped into hyperspace.

Oh, I think the Rebellion made a very big mistake by picking up that frieghter. I think a red haired assasin is captian.
