I decided I'd check in on the girls and see what they're up to. ****************************************** Leia and Mara sat together in the silence of the prison cell, albeit on opposite sides of the cell, while the sounds of battle inexorably approached. Mara was tempted to use the Force to check on Luke’s progress, but she knew that she wasn’t skilled enough to do so without giving her skills away under Leia’s watchful glare. “Doesn’t sound like your troops are having much success,” Mara remarked with a feigned appearance if disinterest. “All this noise just to stop one man?” “You talk an awful lot for a person who will more than likely be dead within the hour,” Leia replied. She knew Mara was trying to goad her and wished the redheaded woman would just shut up so she could follow the sounds of combat as they drew nearer. “Kill me and you sign your own death warrant,” Mara spoke loudly, refusing to allow Leia to silence her. “I don’t think you’re as stupid as all that.” “I’ve dedicated my life to fighting tyrants,” Leia said with a raise of her chin. “First Palpatine, then my father, and now my brother. If my crusade is going to cost me my life, I guarantee you I won’t go alone. If it comes to it, I’ll kill you for no other reason than to spite my brother.” “What noble sentiments,” Mara mocked. “Would you like me shackled to the wall again so you can appear more heroic when you kill me?” A loud explosion prevented Leia from responding. Now rather than keep a firm eye on her prisoner, Leia case occasional glances towards the cell door, perhaps waiting for a cue of some sort from the guards outside. Mara, seeing Leia was now distracted, used the opportunity to do something about the binders she had been wearing since her capture. Until now she had been watched constantly, so any efforts she could have made to free herself would have been pointless. Mara knew it was possible for her to use the Force to release the inner mechanism that held the binders tight, all she needed was the proper focus. When Leia turned her attention to the door again, Mara narrowed her focus and was rewarded with metallic click. To Mara, the tiny noise seemed loud enough to draw the attention of the guards outside. She was amazed that Leia didn't seem to hear it. Mara quickly repositioned her hands so that to Leia she would still seem to be firmly manacled, when in truth the binders were only loosely draped over her wrists. 	sighs in relief now I'm not worried. On second thought, I have trouble with authority so maybe I should still be worried. Oh well, at least there's more story. One quick question.
