*Clears throat nervously.* I'm back. . .after a pathetically long absence that I have no real excuse for.  I still love this Ami!  That last part though seemed like the last time the Jedi would see their children, at least for a very long time. Is that true?  I can't wait for more!

Ah yes I'm just a bit overwhelmed with school-the professors like to assign things at the same time & add random ones just b/c they feel like it! Grrr... 
Anyway, I'm almost done with the chapter-I'm trying to work in a scene that I have thought about for a long time.
<Though, not as long as one that will be included in the OT section of this story>
And yay for Harry Potter! & as for too much time on your hands I must say that I'm jealous!

Chapter 38
Mid-level platform, Inner Residential circle, Coruscant
Running back towards the senatorial center of the city of Coruscant, the capital planet of the entire Reformed Republic, the group of Jedi race to strengthen the defenses against the inevitable attack and invasion by the Empire and their Sith masters.
As they are heading back towards the Senate building, the Jedi search for any invasion forces-especially the Sith. Leaping down a few levels, the Jedi group slips in between buildings, down alleyways, and running down short cuts.
They dive into a residential building near the Senate building, which resides in the heart of the political sector. Sariana goes in first followed by Arritin, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ali with Sylin and Thimos right behind them. Keeping their lightsabers held by their sides, not ignited, the Jedi pull Force shields around themselves in order to prevent their presence from being detected. All of them can sense the Sith nearby, so it is imperative that they do not reveal themselves.
Especially since ambushes are surprise attacks.
Looking around, the Jedi realize they’re on the hundredth level of the building and luckily there is another platform about fifty meters down the next two hallways on the left. Unfortunately, in between the Jedi and the platform are about thirty or so Sith.
Oh this is fun , Thimos says sarcastically. Ali and Sariana roll their eyes, Arritin and Obi-Wan each raise an eyebrow, and Sylin and Anakin grin in unison.
How about we focus? Sariana sends back, sparing a glance. They are closing in on the hallway where the Sith are about twenty meters down the hallway. The Jedi are deciding whether to peek around the corner or sneak pass. Going around would be safer but they need to face and defeat the Sith as soon as possible.
The problem is they are not close enough to the Senate building to reveal themselves. The point of their mission is to distract the Sith and defeat as many as possible. The distraction should give the Jedi and the Republic more time to either prepare to fight the incoming invasion or evacuate as fast as possible.
Should we pass through the opening as fast as we can or try to slowly make our way down the hallway? Arritin asks the others. Anakin turns to look at him as they quietly close in on the hallway opening.
How would we go down without being seen?!
From moving from room to room, though that would be risky, Obi-Wan sends. He looks to the others before adding, if they see us, it will hard to defend from any position.
They all stop and look at each other. Sariana frowns, before saying,
Is there any other way?
No. There’s no point in going around, we would waste time Ali says, eyes narrowing. She sighs and looks across the opening to the hallway they are presently in. Sylin stares at her before shaking his head. He sends,
Wasting time would be better than risk being caught, wouldn’t it?
Maybe, maybe not. We cannot waste time because the Sith and their armies are overhead and the Coruscantian fleet is slowly losing. There is no telling when another Republic fleet can reach us, so we must fight this battle ourselves. When the shield fails completely we will have thousands of Imperials and their Sith masters literally raining down on us. On the flip side, being caught would end our mission real quick, Obi-Wan answers, pressing himself against the wall and ready to look into the intersecting hallway. The others are behind him and they share glance. Anakin glares at everyone and mentally yells,
We are wasting time right now! This is the fastest and the best option right now. We’re going to run into these guys anyway.
Better now then later, Ali says. She nods in agreement and Arritin adds,
Let’s hurry. I sense the first door to our left is open.
Okay, what if the next one’s closed? Ali asks. She is only asking for ideas, because all of them are readying their gear and brandishing their lightsabers.
This is all or nothing and they have wasted enough time already.
We’ll get to that if it comes to that. After me, Obi-Wan says, peering around the corner to see if there is any Sith looking in the Jedi group’s general direction. Fortunately it seems that the force is with them, as there is no Sith in their direct line of sight. The Jedi jump to the first room and quietly slip in, all look at Arritin. He nods and closes his eyes, then sends,
We’ll have to move quickly the next open one is three up on the right.
The Jedi move swiftly towards the next open door, senses on the alert and defenses up.
A sound farther up the corridor causes them to stop for a split second before they run into the next open door. Just as they dive in the room, Anakin catches a glimpse of the Sith who have their lightsabers ignited. He turns to the others with wide eyes but keeps completely silent. No one dares to breathe and they focus their powers only on their shields. The Sith’s dark presence comes closer to the room the Jedi occupy, and slowly the Jedi move deeper into the room and hide.
The Sith stop at their door and the Jedi’s barely breathe as they waited with lightsabers in their hands. They can sense six Sith at the door with another six just a few hundred meters down the hallway. The Jedi look at Arritin who shakes his head. There is no way he would risk accessing his visions when they’re hiding from darksiders who are twenty feet away.
A door isn’t going to stop twelve Sith from coming in. The Jedi know they are trapped in this room, but they can also sense Sith all through this floor of the residential building.
Sariana looks at Sylin who smiles softly, he’s glad he was outvoted. They would have been caught already and fighting for their lives. The Jedi can only afford fighting the Sith near the platform.
That way they would distract the Sith outside, especially since they are the first generation of prophecy. Palpatine will be eager for a rematch.
Anakin shifts to a better position and grips his lightsaber tightly, before looking at the others with wild eyes. Arritin nods, knowing that there is no use in waiting now. They have a mission to do and they must keep moving.
The Jedi quickly move back to the door before sliding out and following Arritin’s lead. As he passes a third door, the others started to feel a sense of unease.
Relax, will you?! Arritin’s voice echoes in their heads as he leads them to the fifth door on the right from where they had been hiding. The Sith are focused on the other side of this level and that is what we should be worried about!
The Jedi step five feet from the door and wait for the next sweep of Sith guarding this level. All of them sense that there is going to be a five-minute break between the guards and maybe they will have the chance they are hoping for. Of course, this could be a trap and the enemy is just waiting to spring it.
We don’t have much of a choice! Sylin sends, looking at his friends and comrades. The others nod, though Sariana frowns and adds,
We must be careful, since we are not close enough to make an adequate distraction or fight against the coming invasion.
After a moment, Arritin dives out of the door with the others right on his heels. The Jedi start running as hard as they can and luckily their soft-heeled boots barely make a sound on the carpeted floor. They pass a few intersections but continue without a moment’s pause. Suddenly, Arritin turns right at the next hallway and the others dive after him.
They all look at him before he puts a finger to his lips and shakes his head. Arritin gives them a look that can only mean ‘don’t say anything out loud or mentally.’
They follow the hallway until they get to an intersecting hallway on their left. The Jedi carefully move up it before sensing that the Sith are coming back towards them…quickly coming towards them. The Jedi share a horrified look before breaking out into a full-fledged sprint.
Hurry! Anakin cries, his eyes widening as he feels the Sith approaching. I think they know we’re here!
They DO know we’re here!!! Arritin sends back, as he begins to run faster. He swallows hard and leads the way towards the next platform. It will be the place for a battle between the Sith and the Jedi, and the platform is the perfect place to cause an adequate distraction.
If they could only get to it, that is.
The Jedi pass through the hallway into a large room where they can see the platform ahead. Sensing the Sith closing in on them, they barely avoid crashing into forty Sith that come from the right and the left.
“Where did the extra ten come from?!” Sylin screams out loud, as the others burst through the clear glass doorway and onto the platform. Sariana cries,
“They’re just making things interesting!”
“Great! Sound like so much fun!” Thimos yells back, as the Jedi whip around the face their enemies. He grins widely and says,
“Everyone ready?”
“No!” Ali says, looking around her. Some of the Sith have decided to land twenty meters or so behind them. The Jedi, who standing in the very middle of the platform begin to look around warily. Looks like the Sith are doing their best to corner the small Jedi group that included most of the first generation of Jedi prophecy.
The Sith maintain a perfect circle around them, and then suddenly they stop.
It seems like a very strange standoff.
The Jedi glance at each other in confusion, before Arritin says,
“Anyone else just a little disturbed by this?”
“Oh just a little,” Anakin says sarcastically. As he holds his unlighted lightsaber to his side, he glares at the darksiders surrounding them. “Just what are they waiting for?”
“A written invitation?” Thimos says sardonically. The others resist the urge to roll their eyes at this. As one, the Jedi ignite their lightsabers and go back to back in a little circle of their own. The situation is not promising with their small group verse forty Sith.
Of course they have faced worse numbers before in multiple waves and somehow survived. This could be a cakewalk in comparison…could be being the operative word of course.
“Okay…this is getting creepy,” Sylin says, as neither group engages the other. The Sith ignite their lightsabers and the Jedi brace for the upcoming attack. The Sith take one step back and look up, and the Jedi cannot help but follow.
There is nothing directly above them but suddenly the Jedi all have a sense of dread.
The Jedi look towards the door they had recently passed through before saying as one,
“Palpatine.”

Thanks enigma, once again you've made me smile.
Ah...yes I'm evil leaving that wonderful little cliffhanger but hey that's me. My semester was fine, I did very well and now another one looms ahead.
Hopefully your holidays went as well as mine! ^^
As for the threads...well, my computer is once again up & running (in was down the last couple of days), so I'm back at work(storywise). There's just a few bits & pieces that I can't quite decide yet. Not writer's Block. Undecisiveness.
It's coming this week...so UP!
