Finally got the footage shot. That outdoor bluescreen was a real lesson for me in lighting a bluescreen in the Florida Sun. The camera picked up alot of blue reflected off the screen right onto the actors. I had to get the actors further away from the bluescreen just to avoid the reflections. My camera also had some problems with the bright sun and the blue screen. Some of the colors appeared 'washed out' after I looked at the footage. So there's a lesson for all, bluescreen does not mix with Florida sunshine. Its a good thing that the footage would have to be changed to nightime in post, so the errors should hardly be noticeable.
I also got a crash course is fight choreagraphy with actors that had no real training. Cuban_Menace gave me great deal of help with the motions for the actors, we even did the moves in front of them. Some footage came out great, other takes look 'forced'.
So a big THANKS to Cuban_menace for coming out on Saturday.

Sounds like it was productive and educational at the same time - hard to beat that experience.
Can't wait to see what you came up with!

Hi all, just dropping an update.
I was out shooting backgrounds for the composite work. I learned one hard lesson, Bring a 2nd battery. lol I think everyonw already knows that.
Anyway, the backgrounds were easy enough to take after I followed the story board positions. I took measurements of the camera height and zoom level to help match a background.
Anyway I started foolong with some video until FUNK-E is back in action. And I came up with this little clip.
To set the scene: The 'bad guy' just launched throwing knives at Kane, this is just one cut.
http://www.kanefilms.com/sktestkh.mov
Notice the kane layer is jumping around a bit....I used a tripod for the shot, the focus is a post effect). The wind must have been pushing the camera around a bit.... (another lesson to weigh down the tripod for reduced movement).
Any easy solutions for the movement problem? Maybe move the foreground object around to help match???
I'll keep updating as I make progress.

I reccomend doing some sort of clever post lighting trick to making those knives pop out more. They're super dark, and against your character's silhouette.
This looks cool, though. When will you be done?

What do you all do when you have a volunteer doing music and he is taking time.... I've been waiting for music to be finished for the longest. Long enough for me to do some extra touch ups here and there on the film with the help of a certain forum member.
Since Music is really the last hurdle...here are just a few more images to keep the interest.... I don't know if anyone has seen these yet or not.....
Stay tuned.....
