PixelMagic posted: I have it on good authority that RVD3 and RVD4 are being filmed back to back. Ok, I'm lying.
It's okay. Just don't forget to make a fake teaser for RVD3.

See the way I heard it was that they were going to film RvD3, then rename 1, 2, 3 to 4, 5, 6 then come back and re-film 1, 2, 3 as prequels.......

^^^ ROFL
The DVD issues sounds pretty serious, as Mike said, your buying the thing for the features, not the movies as they are free, so if your commentary's are off, thats half the DVD features (that I really look forward to) right there. But overall, with as much stuff on the DVD as Mike said, all the commentary stuff probably would be covered in other documentary sections like most DVD's.
Dorkmanscott posted: At any rate, no. We're not even 100% certain that we'll be doing a storyline at all, and if we do, I already have a thought toward what it will be.
Aren't you the same guy who told me RVD1 and 2 has a story? lol, I say keep it consistent, no storyline. But you could do some pretty cool stuff with a story line as long as it ties in the first two, just thinkin aloud.

Only one commentary seems to have a problem, and that's (at most) 10 minutes out of nearly 5 hours of content. Hardly what I'd call "half the features".
Still, we've heard from a few more people re: the troubles with Commentary 1 on the DVDs. Although we still haven't been able to replicate the problem on all our players, and while we expect that we would be hearing a LOT more about it if the issue were more prevalent, we have found that the DVD does have trouble with that particular track on a number of players. We have also determined that some people are missing up to a minute of the commentary when the DVD skips ahead, and a very small number of people can't get Commentary 1 to play at all.
So, since we can't guarantee compatibility with everyone's player on that particular track, we decided to make Commentary 1 available on YouTube. Those of you still on the fence about buying can get a gander at a little bit more of the content available on the DVDs and see if it floats your boat. This will be the final content upload we'll be doing from the DVD.

Woah, I didn't realize the problem was that consistent.

Phi and I had trouble with one of the commentaries on our DVD too. I just didn't think to mention it. We only tried it on my laptop.

I didn't explain myself well, sorry. Most DVD's, the commentaries will usually cover the important aspects of the supplements in the special features, and if thats gone, you have to sit through 5 hours and not get the 10 minute commentary crash course of the project...
DorkmanScott posted: some people are missing up to a minute of the commentary when the DVD skips ahead, and a very small number of people can't get Commentary 1 to play at all.
It's a pretty big problem if what was on the 1 commentary wasn't noted anywhere else, and I believe it was as it was said in the 1 commentary itself., please let us know what the problem is when you find out. Either way, I still wouldn't buy a malfunctional DVD, if I did I would take it back.
I watched the free you tube version of the commentary... 2:35 is what you shot in can? Pretty sweet, great width on the angles I have noticed. The kicks and hits do look very real (but still distracted by the acting) so I never took notice before. Lemme say, I think the acting was too subtle, if there is a back story it is very subtle, so the acting should complement that in an opposite emotion which is almost over the top, instead of subtle and calm as it appears in the finished picture. (not meaning to nag, just making clear the acting isn't really bad, the performance is just off.)
I never really understood how at the end, after Mike gets stabbed in the shoulder, he can have the strength in that same shoulder to accurately throw a heavy weapon.....
The commentary was pretty cool. But yeah, 15 mins ain't the same as a 120 minute commentary, and the 5 hour features would be handy indeed. Wouldn't mind seeing it.
Man, whats up with those credits? If I mail you a $20 check does that mean I would get 7 producing credits for it?

Just had a go at playing the commentary here with my copy of the DVD (on a PS3) - no trouble at all.

Um, lightsabers are extremely light. And also ... never underestimate adrenaline.

It's mostly an elbow movement, anyway. There's very little shoulder movement, he seems to mostly rotate his torso for momentum. I would trust the guys, all the ones on set really, not to look over a detail such as that.
If he'd really been stabbed in the shoulder, I'd believe he could do such a thing, but it's definitely one of those "Oh, this is going to suck." moments.
And watching that again to check it, Dorkman's scream still makes me cringe.

Ummm... noooo, light sabers are pretty heavy bro. The blades are weightless, but the hilts carry a bit of weight. However, I agree that it seems more like a throw derived from adrenaline, and not too much from the force. It would indeed indicate with his following actions. I really liked that running back side dolly shot, just before mike hits the wall, too short, but maybe thats why I like it.

In relative comparison to most weapons, the hilts weigh practically nothing.

Where did you hear that from? They weigh the same as a hand gun. You can see it in the bounce when they hit the ground, there is weight in the hilts.
EDIT: The hilts aren't heavy, but not weightless either, there not 5 pounds, more like 1 or 2 pounds, but was just saying as anything would become very heavy if you just had a saber blade make a hole the size of a quarter through your shoulder the way Ryan did. I suppose the thing is not about weight, but about strength. Sorry bout my miss wording.
