I live 24 miles from the TV station I work at. Everytime I fill up it's about $45 dollars, and that's about twice a week. My friend Jonathan just paid $65 to fill up his tank today. Sucks.

\You could always do something like Boter's Tee-Theta. Just get a tripod, come up with a little story, frame yourself in the shot, hit record and go.

That thread is exactly one year old.

Do you actually keep stuff like that bookmarked to find it so quickly?

Yeah, I Googled "Boter Tee-Theta". Took less than 30 seconds.
My hometown computer buddies were crazily into the net-surfing, gamer, MP3, IRC all-at-the-same-time multi-tasking scene. I get a little bit of that from them.

Prolly why I edit my posts so much. I click 'Post' and think of more to say just after.

Ugh, case in point:

Googling TFN content seems bizarre and self-referential to me. It's the one thing I think I would be unlikely to Google.

Actually, no. Time is often referred to as "the fourth dimension" but it's entirely plausible that there are other spatial dimensions. Time is a dimension, but not in the same spatial sense as the three we know and others that are theorized. OR time is the 0th, OR time is the fifth beyond the fourth spatial dimension... yadda.

Ha ha thanks. That's the point I was trying to make before I got "pwned" by sithjeff happy

Oh k, so in planning out one of this summers projects, I'm trying to figure out some of the various effects, being that it's a very effects heavy film. Since I no longer actually have a computer that I can do effects with at the moment, I'm needing someone who's willing to discuss some of the stuff, and help me figure out what would be doable on a tight budget, and what wouldn't. As well as some potential methods of doing said effects.

So, anyone willing to help me out? Perhaps yahoo, or email, or whatever.

I know for a fact that quite a bit of the stuff will more than likely need a particle effect system in order to do the effects, and that some of the stuff will need the actors on wires, or green screen in order to do the physical part of the effect, so someone who knows particles would be good. And for the other stuff, I pretty much have no idea.

You mean Doppelganger, the character whose name means "evil twin"?

Hate to be picky, but Dopplegänger (or in Swedish it's "Dubblegångare") doesn't mean "evil twin", it means a double, literally "doublewalker", i.e. the connotation is a person, out there, walking around, looking exactly like someone else without being related. There is no implication of malice or evilness in the word at all, but there is a connotation of it being a bit fantastical in the sense that there is an identical person which is not a twin. I.e. the word expressly does not apply to an actual twin.

I didn't use Google back when the search function worked, but if I need a link like this that's the way to go.
I was actually looking for the original site he hosted it on, but TFn came up first.

So who's seeing Speed Racer today? The g/f heard that it's an alright movie, but "bad for kids, because it's so fast it's hard for them to keep up with".

Interesting.

I plan to see it this afternoon depending on when I get out of work.

I've basically been called in to sit on my butt and browse TFN while waiting to see if the client figures out what they want from life. Awesome.
